  1. My locks and windows work from the master switch on the drivers side. Both sides will work from that swich. The passenger side switch won't do anything now.
  2. I pulled a two door harness and it had the wiring for the rear doors also. They were just open connectors. My 97 swap worked fine with the two door switch and the four door wiring though. Recently my passenger switch went south though so I am in the same boat with a dead passenger door but it works from the master.
  3. I agree with the above. 1" is good. You can add an extra isolator above the coil to bump it up an additional 9/16-5/8" or so.
  4. The only full 4.5" kits I know of are cRusty's and Hellcreek. Both have there draw backs. Rusty's is known for bad customer service and high shipping. Also the TB is garbage. Hellcreek is a Rough County front kit with his springs. I would build my own kit using Drop Brackets, RE coils and TB, followed up with HC leaves.
  5. Contact Robert at http://www.rwkhaussupply.com/ and he will get you set up with a great deal.
  6. Fountain is really nice. It is about 30-40 minutes north of Jim's place. Just outside of Co Springs also. If I was going to move to Colorado I would move to Fountain.
  7. I have RC DBs on both of my trucks. I do NOT run braces on either of them. They have been fine for over 5 years on my 89.
  8. I was watching Alaska the Last Frontier and Antz Lee has a red SWB with a shell sitting next to his barn.
  9. I have a 4.5" lift Don. I don't want a stiff ride either. I'm looking for OME smoooveness!
  10. I have the same mirrors. You may want to mount them further back so the window divider doesn't block your view.
  11. What are the part numbers for the shocks? Are you staying with the factory rear shock configuration? I have been looking for some shocks to replace the crappy shocks on my truck.
  12. You need to $#!& or get off the pot. That is not something that I would leave to chance. Go to the recruiter and tell him you want the 3500 occ field with the mechanic option if you want to be a mech or operater option to drive. Just so you know 65% of operators have failed out of some other mos producing school and get recycled as aimers. Do not leave the next four years of your life in the hands of your recruiter.
  13. You should have signed a contract with your recruiter for the 3500 occ field. That designates Motor Transport. From there you will either become a 3531 Motor Transport operator or a 3521 Motor Transport mechanic. If you become an operator you will probably hate it. All you really ever do is drive a truck on base and check fluids. Mechanics pretty much despise aimers as we call them. They break stupid stuff all the time and are pretty much worthless. On the upside if you become a aimer you will go to MOS school at Fort Leonardwood MO.
  14. Hopefully you get to become a 3521. It is the hardest and most rewarding job in the Corps. You will work late nights and come in early for months on end at times. I am a 3529 Master Sergeant. Here is the cold hard truth about being a MT Mech... You will go to boot camp for 3 months, then to MCT for a month, you will go straight from Camp Gieger to Camp Johnson for MOS school. You will spend 4 more months in school. If you are good and graduate first in the basic course you can roll over to the advanced course. That will last another 3 months. Either way you are looking at a minimum of 8 months without your truck. Once you graduate school you will be either stationed on the west coast, east coast or Japan. If you get lucky you will get west coast. If you do you will be able to drive your truck to your new duty station. The east coast you are assed out until you can take some leave to go home to retrieve your truck. If you get Japan you can kiss the truck goodbye for at least another two years. These are facts. Not something that I saw on wiki or ask google. You will not be allowed to have a vehicle until you gradute from your MOS school. The girlfriend stories should scare you. Once you leave your home town and get to North Carolina you will see many more new conquests. You will swoop with your buddies to their hometowns, take road trips to Myrtle Beach and just see new things. Women included. As you can see the chance of you staying with this current girlfriend is pretty slim. I don't suggest you leav your truck anywhere she can get to it. "Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned!"
  15. Summit Racing is in McDonough. Exit 174 off of I75 if my memory holds correcty.
  16. When I left for boot camp I left my freshly restored 79 Dodge Omni o24 with my parents. When I got back back my car was destroyed. My sister ran it into a bank and took out the whole passenger side. My girlfriend at the time was talked into believing I was cheating on her so she took a ball bat to all my windows. Do yourself a favor, rent a storage unit Put the truck in it put the axles on blocks put some StaBil in the tank remove the battery place moth balls in and around the truck to keep the rodents out of it lock the door to the storage unit and keep it safe. I say this because you do not know when you will get back to pick up your truck. Yeah you will have "Boot Leave" then you will go on to MCT or SOI if you are a grunt. You are not allowed to have a vehicle in MCT, SOI or your follow on school for non 03XXs. The truck will sit for nearly a year before you can get it to your first duty station. Then you may get the pleasure of going to Oki for 2 years and you still can't have a vehicle. Something to think about young buck.
  17. HMMWV diffs are aluminum. They share nothing in common with the AMC 20 other than a round cover. A Hummer diff is not a good comparison. They are junk and snap pinion gears like nothing. I've been a Motor T mechanic in the Marine Corps for over 20 years and see blown diffs weekly. With that said the MJ AMC 20 is a good axle. They are just as good as a D44. It is more common for the local parts store to have D44 parts in stock over a AMC 20 though. For that reason alone I'd go with the D44.
  18. I've been there a few times and I can honestly say that place is amazing! I had so much fun ice skating, snow boarding and playing at the camel races. It was one of my favorite port calls. It is far from a sand lot now. It is one of the cleanest places I have been to. The mall is crazy. It is set up on 3 or 4 different floors. As you go to a higher floor the price of things goes up as well. It was a really neat experience.
  19. Yes there was. Onyx is a 89 Eliminator. I didn't think they came 4wd until 90 though. I could be wrong about that last part.

    WTB MJ D44

I have one but I want more than the $450 the guy is selling on Craigslist. Unless you stumble on one in pik a part it is going to cost you about $450 for one.
  21. it seems like every time they update the address of your pics will change. I have a lot of dead pics in my build threads as well. I just don't have the desire to sit down and fix them.
  22. SEMPER FI! Happy 239th birthday to all my brothers and sisters out there!
  23. I really dig the Color and the graphics on that one. I could never move back to PA and bring my MJs up there with me. I know from your past trucks this one is in good hands!
