wheel spacers need help
shelbyluvv replied to redwolf624's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
The tech and review in that post was less then good. It says nothing besides you have bought 3 sets, the most recent set in August. It's your truck and your choice. The choice for me is simple. I'll buy a quality product with a proven track record. If you choose to put cheap parts on your rig more power to you. Why would you gamble on the one part of your truck that matters the most? The tires are the only part of a vehicle that actually makes contact with the road. Not a gamble I'm willing to take. -
If you find some dead pics let me know and I'll try to reload them as I get time. I absolutely love having a 97 MJ. The ZJ seats are amazing. I barely drive my 07 Dodge diesel at all now that I have my MJ back. Once you get the conversion finished you will be in heaven!

97+ Swap Fuel Tank Question
shelbyluvv replied to zfinger's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
If you shop around you can find the adapter ring for less than $100. Why risk a leak? -
wheel spacers need help

Buy Spidertrax spacers and be done with it. Damn man it's not rocket science! Don't buy crappy Chinese junk from EBay or cheap knock offs. Unlike your constant 2.8 swaps do this once. Right the first time! Buy Spidertrax hub centric spacers in 5x4.5 lug pattern. Got it? Good! -
teraflex revolver shackels pros & cons
shelbyluvv replied to johnr's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Don't do it! I had them and they unload when you least expect it. I had them on my XJ and flopped it on its' side because they opened up on a side hill. -
Paid $2.10 here in GA yesterday!

Difference between models?? NC
shelbyluvv replied to gr8tires's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
I think the Laredo was top of the line. It could get all the chrome stuff and any other option you could want. The Eliminator just had plain jane or color matched parts. -
I guess that depends on whether you are writing or reading your post.

97+ Swap Fuel Tank Question
shelbyluvv replied to zfinger's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
86 MJ V6 fuel tank has no slosh pan. The rings can be had from copperhead fab. -
75 here today in South Georgia. This is a bad winter!

My 86 has a different TB mount than the one that I put on it from a 94 XJ. The hole was smaller in the 86's TB mount. I couldn't get my castle nut seated far enough to put the cotter pin in. Switched to the later one and problem solved.

I won't be bringing my MJ. Not unless I swap the engine first and I kind of want to see how long this one lives. -
Renix or HO, that's the question... Advice needed
shelbyluvv replied to knever3's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
I can't stand the Renix engine management. There is a reason why my trucks are OBD-I and OBD-II. They flat out work better and are more user friendly to me. Some like the Renix system. I'm just not one of them. -
I have 97+ doors with the tweeters by the mirrors, 5" speakers in the doors and stock speakers behind the b pillar panels. Jay, once I get done storing my crap from the interior in the tool box we'll see what we can work out.

Better question is how many sign up for the Selective Service?

I've been daily driving her since I brought her home. One thing that has bothered me was the radio. It picked and choose when it wanted to work. Because I swapped in a Infinity system with the factory amp I didn't know if the head unit was at fault or if it was the amp. Today I installed a Kenwood freebie that I picked up a few weeks ago. I did away with all the factory XJ speaker wires and pulled new wires.

What's the plan for the stock gray seats? I need those non bolster style for my 86. -
When I drug Onyx home the straps would not fit over the tires. I have had this issue a few times. I just run the strap over the axle and tighten them up. Never had an issue. It holds them better and they can't slip over the tire or come completely off as the tires go flat either. http://comancheclub.com/topic/11232-project-onyx/?p=232349

I'm back! and have life questions
shelbyluvv replied to Paul Bruchal's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
I don't like the ride of short arms on lifted trucks. The geometry is wrong. Why spend money for junk short arms when you can just do DBs and keep a stock ride? Long arms are not all they are cracked up to be. Yes the look cool, ride slightly better and cost a lot more. You can flex almost as much with DBs and stock arms as LAs. What make you think you need LAs on your truck? -
I have towed both my long and short beds on both transporters and dollys. They fit fne on either one.

Piece together the lift. Seriously. You will get more bang for your buck. RC drop brackets RE 4.5" coils GMC truck front brake lines RK or Ironman track bar stock uppers modded WJ lowers Stock TJ sway bar links For the rear use Hellcreek 4.5" SUA leafs dakota rear brake line Shocks are up to you. I am going with OME shocks on mine. I am about 90 miles away. If you get the stuff I'll help you put it on. Do not put a cheap suspension on your truck. The list of stuff I provided will give you an awesome ride and rock solid truck. -
gonna need help with my soon to be project

He's been told to swap in a 3.4 out of a CamBird a thousand times. He refuses to listen. I even gave him several leads on 3.4s in his area because he said there were none to be had. You can't just slip a LSD into a D35. The clutches are in the carrier which are different for a LSD and a Non LSD. You will have to set the gears back up for the new carrier. At that point it is cheaper and easier to weld in the 8.8 I know I am wasting my time even suggesting anything to you though. -
There are a couple different issues with the stock sender. The gauge won't read correctly, the wiring from the 97+ harness is different, the fuel lines are different also. The MJ sender uses a return line where the XJ doesn't and the regulator is on the fuel rail for the MJ engine where it is on the pump for the XJ. I went with a TJ tank and guage cluster and it worked great and still is. The Dodge tanks seem to be working and so does using an MJ tank without a slosh pan and a adapter ring. The choice is yours on which way you want to go. For me the TJ tank worked out the best.

I like white spokes on a white or dark colored truck. I think they are fitting to the time period these trucks were built in. I have used them on a lot of my vehicles through the years. If I could get them in a 17X9 for my Cummins I would be using them on it as well. I say run them!
