  1. The COMANCHE emblem was 86 only. The Comanche emblem was used from 87-92.
  2. The VIN is for an 89 Eliminator. Mine is 1J7FT66L3KL625917 the only difference in the VIN is the check digit and the production number. As far as I know a column shift and dummy lights were not offered on the Eliminator. All Eliminators came with body colored bumpers though. EDIT: The dash could have been changed at one point or the column and cluster swapped. Onyx did not have a center console though. It had a mini console with no indication it had a full console. I had to drill rear floor mounts to put the console in. As we all know anything is possible with a Jeep.
  3. No bed liner on the body. It is on the flares, bumper caps and plastic side vents. The truck is not perfect. The windshield is cracked on the passenger side and leaks above the steering wheel. The rear window leaks. The upper cowl leaks onto the floor. The HVAC opening is still the 89 style and needs to be updated to the 97 style. The e brake does not work. It needs the equalizer bolted to the bed. It does not have carpet because of the leaks ruining it. The drain plugs in the front floor are opened up to keep the water from sitting on the floor too long. The fan shroud is broken. The rear exhaust pipe is starting to rust out. The interior plastics are still not redone in the proper agate color to match the dash and door panels. She needs a few things to be perfect. I will get to them eventually. Right now I just don't have a place to work on it. I am moving into a house next month and can finally park it and dig into repairing the leaks and HVAC opening.
  4. In all honesty I am getting a case a deja vu. I sold that truck 4 years ago to a buddy who had plans to put a Hemi in it and take great care of it. Neither of those happened and it became a rattle canned and bed lined hunting rig. I bought it back after she sat for a year and finally got most of the bugs worked out of it. All in I have over $5000 in that truck. I will not take less than $4000 for it. I know the price is high but, like I said, I don't want or need to sell her.
  5. Yes it is. Surface rust on the floors, no dents, minor dings. Runs good but has a knock and low oil pressure. I daily drive it.
  6. How much are you willing to pay for a FULLY 97+ converted, 4wd converted, black, 89 Eliminator? I own that exact truck. I don't want or need to sell my truck but I can be persuaded with the right offer.
  7. D30-488TJ is the Motive Gear PN for 4:88 gears.
  8. Those look like 95+ seats to me. If they are the easiest thing to do is cut the floor braces out of the donor and weld them in your truck.
  9. Or the guy who has replaced 4 of them behind a 2.5? The AX-5 is fine for a street queen. Put bigger tires, deeper gears and rocks into the equation and they just can't handle it.
  10. I own two Renix MJs. Now they are OBD-I and OBD-II. They Renix system is garbage. If you like it more power to you (well less actually). I will convert every Renix Jeep I own to OBD-I or II first chance I get.
  11. Long or short bed?
  12. Don't forget the free oil pump. Face it man, you are a all around good guy. I look forward to meeting you some day.
  13. Download foxfi if you have an Android and use it as a hotspot for free. It is free to use but will turn off after a few minutes. To buy it is stupid cheap and it has no time limit for hotspot.
  14. He is a great guy. He sold me a really, really rare part at a ridiculous price. I still smile at it every time I see it.

I bought her an XJ to get my V10 Ram back but she didn't like the XJ so I built a wheeler out of it.

  17. You can trim it with an angle grinder and a cut off wheel. Pics would help to see what you are dealing with. Word of advice, wear long sleeves, goggles and a mask. Once you are done cutting it take a cold shower to get the fiberglass off you.
  18. That's weird. My 97and 99 donor XJs had them under the hood.
  19. That is a 2000+ XJ vapor canister. The 97-99 XJ had the canister in the engine bay, under the overflow bottle. The 00-01 XJ had the canister in above the rear rear drivers tire.
  20. Rob, They have been on the truck for over 5 years. The pics are in the Onyx build thread. I actually gained almost 5.5" of lift. Onyx was a 2wd Eliminator I converted to 4wd. After about 6 months they settled down about 3/4". They are still holding well to this day. I love the HC springs. Like I said I think the ride all comes down to crappy shocks.
  21. The BWs cover the fuel door on long beds and are thin brittle plastic. One smack on a tree will pull the bolts through the flare. You then have to epoxy them back together. I had them on my XJ and a Ranger. Doug's flares are just all around a better product.
  22. I have 4.5" HC packs on my SWB. It rides like a gravel truck. I attribute 90% of the crappy ride to the white rocket F250 shocks I have in the rear. I have the PNs for OME shocks that will hopefully smooth it out. I an hesitate on spending $150+ on shocks as an experiment. I have also been looking into RS9000s because I can dial in the ride to what I want.
  23. If you have a long bed go with the V2s. The BWs will cover the fuel door. If you wheel your truck in tight trails go with the V2s. Trees and BWs do not get along.
  24. I think a Cheromanche would be better suited. That way the kill stays in the bed. Deer hair and blood stink and is hell to get out of the interior. I would build it like this, BB, 33/10.50s, full skids and sliders, rear hitch, front bumper and winch. I would make a gun storage compartment under the rear seat also. Done, it's a hunting rig needs nothing else.
