A few (10+) years ago I built a red convertible Dakota into a convertible Shelby clone. I wish I would have kept that truck. It was a fun piece. I am a Shelby Dodge fanatic, hence the screen name.

I have had my 04 WJ since it had 23 miles on it. I have beaten the tar out of it. I have wheeled it hard on 32's, towed waaaay to much, and I have not had any problems out of my D44HD. The aluminum D44 is not that bad. If you truss them and make a skid for the bottom they are uber strong rear ends. I have never seen a Vette or a Viper lunch one either. :dunno:

I found a Comanche in a JY about 12 years ago. It had a 2.8 and was a short bed. I looked at the door and could barely make out a 8/86. I do not know it if was a factory truck or if someone had a 86 they totaled and swaped everything into a 87 truck, including the doors. The bed was a different color than the rest of the truck. Or they could have shortened the frame to fit a SWB bed. On that note, I was also not that into MJs at the time and just passed on by it.

 X 1,000,000. I haven't seen a single Comanche, or ANY other vehicle with spark plug holes thru the hood. If this guy tries to give you any more advice...just smile, nod and walk away. I had a 78 Chevy Caprice with a 305 in it. Every few days the #3 spark plug would pop out of the head and put a new dent in my hood. It turned out to be the oil fouler in the head was stripped causing the plug and fouler to come out. I took the fouler off and just screwed the plug back in. Never had the problem again.

Don't forget the "COMANCHE" emblems on the 86 models, lol!

I rear ended a 90s T-Bird doing 55!

There is a vent just to the right of the gauge cluster "hump". If you chop the 4" out there and remove the vent area it would be very easy to re-mold.

starts at $3500

There are a couple people on my "Foe" list because their spelling and grammar is so bad it pisses me off to even read their dribble. -
I went a different way with the dash. I did not end up using the ZJ cluster. I had to cut so much of the factory dash that it made it weak. It would flex and twist very easily. To make a ZJ dash fit you would have to cut about 3" out of it and mold it back together.

Project "Black Betty"

Thanks man. The wiring is not all that bad. As long as you use similar vintage donors it makes it a lot easier. Also once you break the systems down (PCM, PDC, fuse box) it get a lot easier. -

Ryan, my rad goes under the support. I have about 2" from the mechanical fan to the radiator. Tim, I am keeping the interior stock. I will be using HO gauges, dash, HVAC, and fuel system. That is why I went with a 93-95 ZJ donor. OBD I like the 93 XJ harnesses I used. I have a bunch of half completed projects at this point. Once the wiring is done I can finish all my started projects. I mocked a lot of stuff in place just to get the wiring done. -

I got the wiring laid out in the engine bay. My plan to mount the CPU in the stock 86 location failed. There was not enough room to fit it between the dash and the firewall. I mounted it instead in the stock ZJ location. Right in front of the blower motor. I had to tilt it down just a hair to make room for the wiring and A/C if I choose to use it in the future. Anyone want a spaghetti dinner? the CPU I also got the PDC laid out And lastly the alt and starter wiring is done. Now that all that mess is figured out I can start soldering all them together to make one harness. -

Right click, open picture in new window. -
STOP!!!! You have to cut your fenders even with the bottom of the header panel. The 97+ fenders are already cut.

You can't post pictures stright to the forums. You must us an image host. Facebook works too. -
I don't care what color they are as long as they are straight. Hale off sale either this weekend or next at the PAPs.

That's the one I want. If you can come up with some stock fenders we can work something out.

I got a cd/dvd player. It has like a 3" screen. I had it in my 07 Ram and hated it. It would sometimes turn up when you were trying to turn it down. The lowest volume was too loud to have a normal conversation. It is this one and I do not have a remote. It did not come with one when I bought the truck. $50 shipped? Or will trade for maroon MJ interior parts. http://www.serendipitydeals.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=1294

Sorry, yours does not have the chrome trim I am looking for.
-
I have everything but one flare (forgot which side) and the 97+ bumper. Are you in SoCal? Shipping a header panel is very pricey. Post up some pics of what you are wanting to trade.
-
The 97+ front end is not the look I want for this truck. I need a 86-89 front end. It will have a sperate bolt on chrome trim line above the grill. The 90 and new headers are mold into the grille and headlight doors.
