  1. Just playing around with this for my own use, but thought I would see what you like. Here are three version that I have made, but feel free to revise mine or make your own and add it in here if you wish... :D
  2. Staying at home and doing some work. Cut the grass, new valve cover gasket on the MJ, new e-brake cable on the MJ, new ABS sensor in the rear diff of the Ram, checking out a rear suspension problem on the Ram and what ever there may be on the "honey-do" list ;) . OH...BTW... Some Bud Light Lime will be involved throughout...
  3. Nice man  . Can't beat JY scores :D .
  4. Correct...just because the compressor doesn't work doesn't mean that it has no refrigerant in it. The only way the refrigerant gets out is if the system is open...ie; a broken hose.
  5. Many people say that "I drive fine while talking on a cell", but the fact is, it has been scientifically proven that ANYONE that uses a cell phone is nearly 60% more likely to have a crash (it's not an "accident"...it's a crash). It doesn't matter if it's with hands free or not...a telephone conversation while trying to drive is going to get someone in trouble or worse. I agree that it shold be a choice as the government has way too much control over us as it is so there has got to be a way to convince the idiots out there that what they are doing is going to hurt someone.
  6. That is what it seems it shouldb be, but it doesn't work that way. A 2" drop shackle will give "about" 1" of lift. Guess we'll see when he get s them now... ;)
  7. Any idea on where to order one from? Thank you. Click here for NAPA
  8. Likem', lovem' or whatever you will, but I see no reason for the horrible critters to exist  .

    Caps lock pics

This is the only one I have saved.
  10. I have friends in high places at JRations Magazine and at JPFreek Magazine. ;) I'm sure they would love to participate
  11. As I read your post, distributor came to mind before I even got to the part that you wrote about it. I think you have found the issue...or at least the better part of it. :D
  12. The Patch Kit (part #4443965) shows to be used through 1990. There are still plenty available with a retail price at $65 - $70 depending on dealership used. I can get it for anyone that needs it for $46 + shipping of $3 for USPS. I only show one available in my local warehouse, but 269 show to be in the national warehouse in Detroit.
  13. Nope...no adjustment to the CPS. As Eagle said...there is nothing you can do about it but live with it. Some start a little quicker than others, but they are all slow ;) . Yours is a great example...you have done all that work and it did nothing to help this particular issue  .
  14. Mine takes 3 seconds most of the time. It is typical of the Renix system to take 3-5 seconds to fire...although 5 seconds is getting a little long.

    Thanks

 That's what this place is all about. Do something "not so smart" and you will be told about it, but you will also not be judged and you will get help so you don't do it again ;)
  16. It could be, but if that were the case, it should burn off in a very short time and come back to normal. If it is staying that high, you have a problem somewhere else...possibly the IAC or TPS. If the IAC is sticking, sometimes you can "tap lightly" on the side of it with a wrench or ratchet and it will release and bring the idle down. If that happens, you need a new one.
  17. That [to me] is a pretty sure sign that the gear ratios are different. If there was a t-case problem, you would notice it in 2wd as well because the drive power goes through all of the primary t-case parts even when in 2wd.
  18. I don't know how far that trip is, but if you have the proper towing set up on the Wrangler, it should not be a big deal to flat tow it. A CJ5 will not weigh a whole lot more than 2000lbs and if you drive carefully...it should be uneventful ;) .
  19. It's not unusal to have to roll them just a little to get the gears to line up. I have rolled them or just leave it in gear and let the clutch out just a little to spin the shaft and it will shift. That is a great price for that Jeep. It's hard to touch a driveable CJ for less than $3000 so even if it did have a t-case problem, it would be well worth that buy.
  20. Well...you can put 31's on it with no lift, but they don't "fit". If you understand the true meaning of "fit", it is... the tire will go on and be able to cycle the suspension and steering to full capacity without the tire touching anything. If you run 31's with no lift and you take it offroad, it will be a bad experience for you fenders, flares and tires. For 31's to properly fit, you need a 3" lift. I had 235's on mine when I bought it at stock height and they were OK, but did rub just a very little bit at full lock turning.
  21. I did a little research on that statement I made because I did not feel right about it being just something I heard. It is NOT true. We are the lightning capitol of the US, but not the worls and the average varies from different sites I found, but it's in the 50-60 strikes per square mile range. Sorry to pollute your thread with lightning trivia...
  22. There has been several people on here post about the HF ball joint tool...and no one (that I recall) has had anything good to say about it.
  23. With shipping... $17 Wade... That got there fast  . I sent it first class mail on Tuesday and you have it installed on Thursday night  . Thank you!! Glad I could help...
  24. We have all been there too, so it's not like we haven't done what you are doing ;) . I know I have agone the "cheap" route myself more than once even tough the others were telling me the same things we are telling you now. It served the purpose, but I still hated spending what I did on the cheap stuff just to have to do it over agian on a year or so with better stuff. Hind sight is always 20/20 and I can say that if I had known then what I know now...I would have waited a little longer and saved a little more to do things better the first time. I know that is Cliché, but it is true ;) Do what you feel is best for you. No one here will judge you for whatever you decide...we just want to help you make the most informed decision possible. 8)
  25. Central FL is the Lightning capitol of the world. I believe the stat is something like 1000 strikes per square mile annually.
