8) Nice find... Yeah...the oil pressure thing is likely the sender that has grounded out and needs replaced.
-
Just a hose with a tire chuck attached just like any air hose from a compressor. ;) Yep...that's it... :D

We are thinking about buying one of the 10lb Co2 tanks that Motion is selling in the near future. Just curious as to what it costs to fill one of these tanks? I guess I wouod be curious also as to where ya'll get them filled?? ;)

sensors for new gauge cluster
BLHTAZ replied to exjay33's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
If you got an oil pressure sender with two wires...you have the wrong one. The sender for the guage still has only one wire just like the switch for the light. I have done this swap too and it is very simple. -
Coolant overflow tank leaking
BLHTAZ replied to mknherhappy's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
The temp sender is in the red box. The thing you see above it with the green plug is the MAP sensor and it makes it much easier to do this job if you take that off of the firewall and move it out of the way so you can use a ratchet & extension to get to the temp sender. when you remove the plug from the temp sender it will be a small brass unit, but I can't remember what size socket fits it right now. A couple turns with the socket and then you will want to use your fingers to finish the job so as not to drop it wen it comes out ;) . >>This is not my engine, but just a pic I found on a quick Google search<< ;) -
Coolant overflow tank leaking

The easiest way that I have found is to park the truck with the front down hill. If you don't have a place to park it with the front end lower than the rear, then jack up the back end as far as possible. Once that is accomplished, let it set for a few minutes to get all the air to the rear of the head and then make sure the pressure bottle is properly filled, locate the temperature sender in the top left rear corner of the head, unplug the wire and unscrew the sender from the head. Keep it close as you will not need to have it out long, but all the air will burp out of that hole and then coolant will flow out. when the air is out, quickly put the sender back in. Mine bled out and worked fine in one try. I have seen a couple that had to be done a second time, but once is usually all it takes. It should be obvious that doing this with a cool engine is best. ;) -

Correct...that is an integral part of the pressurized system so the only fix is replacement. Be sure to search a little on here for instruction on how to properly bleed the air out of the system when you change it or you will be replacing it again shortly when it overheats and blows it out. Ask me how I know... ;) -
Mine is out of a 2001 Ford Ranger...

I have heard that moth balls work on them, but I know they don't work on cats. We have a lot of free raoming cats around here and they were getting in our YJ to sleep, piss, puke etc... We tried moth balls around, in and under the Jeep, but it didn't help. We finally bought a cab cover to put on it while parked. I have heard skunks are a tough one, but thankfully I have not had to deal with them yet.

:laughin: Fun finding things isn't it. yes...the click is likely for interior and [if equiped], I believe it would also turn on the cargo light on the back of the cab.
-
My truck has no cat, so the CB would be a little obnoxious...although I do like the sound of it on CW's. I have not changed the one on the MJ yet, but I intend to run the 40 series single in dual out. I will likely be doing it in the next couple weeks as the factory muffler on it now is cracked and leaking on both ends.

Sounds like time to replace the sockets. They can look fine, but cause all kinds of weird issues.

Hey Carmine... I believe you still have my number so if you do get in trouble and need help finding help you can always call me and i can post up on here if needed. I'll PM it to you anyway as we have not actually talked in person in a while ;) .

That's the problem...he doesn't have 4WD in that Jeep right now. Percpetion is key, but I watched that one again and it appears that all of the spinning and operation of the Jeep is on the trail with no "greenery" hurt. You are right though CW...we have to be careful about what we show in public...even if it is legit, it can "look" bad.
-
If it has the springs...I won't need them ;) . My Hell Creek springs are great  .
-
Might have to give it a try just becuase...but, the regular Mich Ultra tastes like carbonated water to me, so I'm kinda curious about the Lime thing.
-
I would go Cherry then. It is going to be a little louder than the Flowmaster, but not a lot. The big difference is the controlled tone that Flowmaster gives vs. the "near" straight pipe sound of the Cherry Bomb.
-
Yep...that'll kill an ECU. You will be the second one on here to kiil one in that same manner in the last few weeks...if that is your problem.
-
Definitely Motion. I have never heard much good about the Rusty's lift kits from anyone. I have two friends that have used them and were completely disappointed, not to mention pissed off, with the results. ;)

oil gauge sticking sometimes
BLHTAZ replied to comanche87's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
I think the one that I saw done used repalcement guages for all of the guages just in the OEM housing...not just replacing one guage...now that I think about it. I had intended to try the grounding thing on mine when I got around to getting the guage to check the oil pressure too. -
I'll take the Purdy for now... :D
-
OHHHH...sorry...I don't have one of those. My truck ain't one dem der fancy ones  :brows:
-
Sorry...wish I could answer that one, but the only times I have ever messed with a radio I always had full printed instructions to go by as I know VERY little about wiring them. I have always avoided doing any type of electrical work unless absolutely forced to do it. ;)

I bowled leagues for many years, but due to knee injuries, I had to give it up. I had a 195 average with a 289 being my best ever rolled ;) . That's right...one bad roll away from perfect... :headpop: :D

I like the Flowmaster 40 series. Fairly loud, but controlled and a great tone.
