Please help!! 4x4 what stay in high or low
COMJNUT replied to Cmbechtold's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Re-adjust the posi lok and the shift linkage for the transfer case. -
Gee guys, its a over glorified tractor motor! If the motor is stock, put some cheap ones in it, make sure the gap is correct and it will run like you put those $20 per plug in it.

Get a affordable yj, 87-95. They do great plowing, heavier than the mj, have a full frame up front to support the heavy plow, has leafs instead of coils in front. To the point, I'd rather see any other vehicle plowing instead of a mj.

When I see the v6 in a for sale ad I also think that they really don't know what they are selling and mutter to myself "idiot", but some people just don't wish the educate themselves about their world.

You pay more for a tire that mounts to a 16" wheel than a 15" wheel of the same tire diameter even though there is less rubber on the 16".

I didn't think that they made a column shift in 91, well that proved me wrong. If you have not done it yet, put your Vin into the registry on this site. http://comancheclub.com/forum/28-comanche-registry/ Looks good!

metric ton springs on dana 35?
COMJNUT replied to acfortier's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
very common. when one of our MJ's go on a mechanics lift or the suspension is fully flexed in droop, everything on it get's out of place. and back on topic...the d35 will die sooner because it will be the failing point when adding that amount of weight that the springs can take. -
How can I increase carrying capacity in bed of truck?
COMJNUT replied to Allen's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
That made me think of something, yes get the metric ton or get alcan to make up a set. Also do the zj v8 track bar, steering linkages, and 4 bolt the steering box with the box brace. I noticed that when I was towing, it put more stress on the steering components but luckily I had the zj stuff already installed...but blew the old age steering pressure line to the box. -

Where to buy MJ lift leaf springs?
COMJNUT replied to zfinger's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
I have alcans under mine, they will build anything to your specs. They are worth the price, I've seen them beaten on very hard by a friend and they have lasted underneath 3 different XJ's because of the XJ's falling apart from his expressive driving style. http://www.alcanspring.com/index.htm -
towed a 93 chevy lumina on a u-haul dolly with my swb 91, just spoke enough tech at em to think that I knew that I'd done it many times before. Nowhere near a lwb mj on a trailer, but getting them to allow you to tow anything with their equipment is difficult.

oh no, JK wheels...that means adapters, glad it's not on my truck. I've heard some horror stories from those, and one of those stories was from a good friend of mine that is a mechanic!

basically unlimited choices, it depends on how much work and $ you want to put into it. http://www.novak-adapt.com/catalog/transfer_case_parts/np_231_parts.htm http://www.novak-adapt.com/knowledge/np_nvg_input_gears.htm you can buy a input gear and cut it down, possibilities are endless.

a 4 cyl with dual exhaust :rotfl2: , doesn't even sound like it has a OEM bed liner "mat...fitted to bed" I'd guess this person didn't research the return on investment on our rigs.

how much longer is a lwb than swb?
COMJNUT replied to Northern rustbucket's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
I know what your asking, and I would have been able to help you out about 7 years ago when I owned both LWB and SWB MJ's. So a measurement along the bottom of the bed from the front of the bed to the fender flare for a SWB is 18", From the front of the bed along the top of the fuel filler door to the fender flare is 23.5". Hope someone can get the measurements for a LWB.
