that's why i no longer trust advance auto or auto zone for electronics, only name-brand stuff they happen to carry. had too many duds from them, including a fuel pump for a friend's jimmy, which requires dropping the tank to get to. as for me today, i pulled the rear driveshaft, disconnected wiring/shift linkage/speedo cable, loosened cross member bolts, disconnected exhaust, and started pulling carpet so i can swap in my 4wd aw4 and np231. also prepped the "new" trans with some new seals and filter. tomorrow i should be finish up when a friend comes to help stabalize the trans while puling/installing. also doing the rear main seal, oil pan seal, and intake/exhaust gasket, and pinpointing a coolant leak. should be busy, and afterwards... :cheers:

having worked for ford as a warranty administrator at a local dealership, plows will not void warranties. however, certain performance mods can partially void them, like some banks products on diesels. you should be fine.

welcome! mine's a 2wd (for the moment, i just need to find time to pull the interior to install t-case shifter and swap the transmissions...). it does pretty good in the snow, now that there's an extra dana turdy-5 axle in the bed :D but judging by how clean your truck looks, i'm thinking you're not from the rust belt. that, and what looks like a texas inspection sticker in the windshield. what engine/trans do you have in there right now?

swaped out the good tailgate i had on it for some minor paint/body work, put on a spare one with dents and rust that didn't open before i hooked the latch handle back up to the internal mechanism. funny thing is, the damaged one works better for opening and closing than the one in good shape, since my bed is so messed up from years of abuse before i got it :nuts:

it depends on the condition of the truck you're looking at, for one thing. would that truck do everything you use your xj/mj combo for? i would lean toward go for it, as long as it's in good enough condition. even though i like x/mj's...

those wheels make me want to vomit. I was hoping someone had Photochoped those on the truck as a bad joke... Unfortunately, I don't think that's the case... that may be, but i'd still trade it for my truck...i could sell those rims for more than my truck cost, probably.

not to mention it had a great little diesel in it...someone needs to save that thing, rip off the junk, and swap in 4wd.

it's a fair amount of work, you pretty much have to rip out the dash.
