  1. Cool idea, but no brand name? I am a bit leary of cheap guages. I usually like to stay with upper end brands. The cheap ones never seem to be accurate if they work at all.
  2. I got a set from a 99 XJ out of the junkyard, like brand new for ten bucks.
  3. One of the nicer trucks I have seen, great job!!
  4. Yeah, I saw a blue one once, can't remember where I saw the pic though. I would swap the interior out of a wagoneer, not so sure on the wood grain.
  5. yup, works on my TJ, will do the same to my MJ
  6. Well remember that the front is the same as an XJ up to 96 year. I have an ARB bumper for my MJ, bought it off an XJ.
  7. How do you keep your garage so clean????? ;)
  8. Pete, I have ZJ steering on my TJ. The ZJ steering also swaps to any XJ/MJ so I would say yes. If you want heavier upgraded steering for cheap go with the ZJ steering system.
  9. Its easy once you remove all the side trim pieces. I gutted my interior, so plenty of room. Pull it and fix it, while it is down dynomat the roof.
  10. gojeep is the XJ king. His website is one of the best out there. I have heard him talking of this MJ, you can bet it will be top notch.
  11. I would venture to guess he is thinking of the FSJ trucks. They faded in 87/88, same way comanche faded in 92/93. Just missinformed. I looked at his add when that truck was on ebay, it claimed pwr windows and locks. Only comanche's that came with that was in the late 80's Laredo long beds. Never saw an interior pic to confirm it, could be swapped in, thats what I am doing.
  12. For my truck, I took out the carpet and soaked it in OXY clean carpet cleaner then hosed the crap out of it. Came out real nice. Still some minor stains but its clean and doesnt smell. For the headliner, I removed all the old material, went to Walmart, bought some grey fleece and elmers spray adhesive, ta-da. Nice clean new headliner for around 10bucks. Hope that helps, good luck
  13. Good point, forgot about the valve cover, it is something to check too.
  14. Truck looks great I like the set up, about what I plan to do with my truck. Yours sits perfectly.
  15. Was this the white one you bought off craigslist? I really liked that truck if it is. Big oil leak is more than likely the rearmain seal. You can fix it with the engine in the truck, its fairly common issue when the 4.0 gets high miles. If you do a search I am sure you will find tons of info on it. It should be an afternoon fix. As for the options, there is a website you can run the vin on. http://jeep.avtograd.ru/VIN/vin_en.asp That should help some. Get some more pics of that truck up!!
  16. Well also the cps will be an issue if you have long crank times. Sensors are a bear to pinpoint. They are expensive and hard to track down. Search Naxja and Jeepsunlimited for info too, lots of XJ's on there with the same running gear, may find some insight as to the problem.
  17. I don't know, I hate to see them get cut up. Keep it a truck. Cut up an XJ, tons of those around. But its your truck, good luck in what you choose either way.
  18. So you sold the Rubi to buy this...........? I like Dodge trucks but you already have a truck? What gives? I have a TJ for hardcore offroading and summer cruising. Builiding the MJ for DD duty, some offroading during hunting season and when I go hiking....... Your MJ should cover that, what is the full size dodge for? You just got a house and had a kid..........you must make nice $ to support all that and a new truck. Only car payment I have is my wifes WK, I don't drive expensive rigs myself..... ;) Keep it cheap for my ride. It looks likes a nice truck, just make sure the wife and little one have a nice safe ride of their own. Good luck with the Dodge.....
  19. Nice to see it went to another member here. Its a nice base for a great truck, keep us posted.
  20. Yea.....low milage is some times good, I had a '87 with 67K, total rot box, got cut up for parts, the u-joints on the D30 have 1 inch of play in them, has ever oil leak you can think of. Another '87 I have has 63K on it, and is in very rought shape, does not start, have not started working on that one yet. The '89 I drive now, I got that with 81K on it, and after going thru it, replacing ever seal, All axle bearings, u-joints, rebuild the cooling system, re-build the brake system, New clutch, corroded wires and about everything else, and over $1600 in parts, oh yea, a 20 year old truck with low milage that's been sitting, yea a real good deal  I guest if someone took VERY good care of the 20 year old truck, and did maintenance on it, and replace the dry rotted seals, then it's a good deal, but expect to pay for all of that. Which your posting here. I have to deal with the rust up here, which eats the crap out of the trucks, but has nothing to do with the dry rot of the seals, or the poor maintenance done on the trucks from the PO. Even low milage, it's still a 20 year old truck  My MJ has 79k, body excellent, still needs some work to get it back to a reliable DD. Buy that laredo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  21. Hey, how about this one?? The elusive Laredo edition http://www.cars.com/go/search/detail.js ... xists=true
  22. This is in TX http://austin.craigslist.org/car/410465059.html Be patient, the right truck will come up. Why you looking for another one anyhow? Going to make the one you have a trail rig? If you find something far, get a plane ticket and check it out, drive it back.
  23. Sweet, I like the color!
  24. Nope, wasnt me. I have a silver MJ, and she is in the garage. I use my silver TJ as my DD right now. A few MJ's running around here, don't recal seeing a crusty brown one though.
  25. You drove right past me. If you need yj axles I have a friend in Newark NJ with a set. Let me know. They are standard 307's.
