    ACOS....

Anything JKS puts out is top quality, expensive, but worth it. Check out the ACO's before you assume that you could make them for less. If you can, more power to you, I know I couldnt.
  2. Not sure what the average is right now. I do know dealing with wells fargo, they will negotiate a bit. I assume you didnt lock in. Tell them you will go with there company if they offer you the lower rate. Otherwise you will go elsewhere. Worked for wells fargo, I got 5.75 for a 30yr and no points. This was 2yrs ago though, they have since gone up. Give it a try. Checking around shouldnt hurt your credit, unless you actually sign up, then cancel.

    ACOS....

I too have a set, great product, a bit pricey, but if you look you can score them at a good price.
  4. I saw that too. Nice find. I personally like a big heavy duty bumper. To many deer and such around here, I like the protection of a stout bumper.
  5. It should be located behind the front bumper, look under there, you will find it.
  6. how much do those lines cost? the YJ ones AND the dakota one? Have to call Napa for a price, I don't remember off hand. I do know they are much cheaper than aftermarket, plus a direct fit, no fab. Plus, the rubber is better than the stainless steel lines. I know this is a fact, I just can't remember exactly why, maybe someone can help my old memory out.
  7. And for brake lines, get YJ lines of the same year from napa, cheaper and much longer as well as a direct fit including the mounting area.
  8. You may want to consider a long arm system. TNT or Rustys is bolt on. I am looking to go with the TNT unit. Here is what I did. I bought used but fairly new RE 3.5" springs, JKS ACO's (can go cheaper with just some spacers if needed). My experiance with RE is the 3.5 actually give a bit over 4" lift, I will fine tune with the ACO's to level the truck with my SOA. I will buy a new Track bar, more than likely a JKS or the upgraded unit Kevins is offering. Use the TNT Longarm upgrade kit (so far best price I found is 875 for that). That should keep within the budget you mentioned. Rustys is a bit cheaper, but doesnt offer the beefy Tcase skid in there price, TNT has that included. Short arms and that tall a lift ride like total crap, also that high tends to add in a few handling quirks. Another upgrade you may want to consider, get a ZJ steering set up, from the pitman arm to the tierods (take the whole unit). The pitman will drop your steering down an inch, helping the angle as well as beef up the components, ZJ's use thicker bars. Hope that helps you with some ideas, any questions just ask.
  9. Looks good, thats one clean MJ.
  10. no no no, you mis-understand. the 96 style xj's floor pan changed, and along with it the ENTIRE seat system. the comanche bench brackets won't work AT ALL. you'd have to make completely custom mounting tabs either way you'd mount it (be it on comanche bolts or making new bolt mount spots). cruse switch won't mount into the gm steering wheel, but seeing as that switch is on the steering wheel you could actually pull all the wires for it and mount it on your dash or something in the MJ. you just won't be able to put it on your column. the 96 steering wheel won't mount to the gm style column either.... in 95 the cherokee became a whole different animal Ok, I understand now. I'll get the seats to fit somehow, via fab or a mess of spacers ;) The cruise switch isnt a big deal, I can use an older one.
  11. Thanks guys, I do know the doors are a direct swap, no worries there. As for the seats, I will use the MJ Bench brackets, just mount the XJ buckets on it. I'm not swapping the steering colum, just the cruise switch, should be the same, not sure though. If not I will get an older cruise switch, just use the servo out of this one. I doubt I can make the new Door harnes work as a plug and play in with the older wiring. I will just rewire the doors, did that before its not to hard. Easier than swapping the whole harness.
  12. Ok, made a deal on a 96 Jeep Cherokee Country, going to pick it up on Mon. Here is what I plan to swap. Doors (for pwr options) Seats Console Brake Booster Front Axle Cruise Control (if the 96 has it on the colum and will swap into my colum, keeping the colum shift on my MJ) What else can I swap??? Not sure what all options it has, I will check it out when I pick it up. I don't think it has skids or an overhead console, will double check on Mon. I already have a np242 in the garage to install, and this Jeep has a 231. I plan to part the rest to recoup my money and fund the MJ
  13. Well just made a deal on a 96 Jeep Cherokee Country ED. Picking it up on Mon. Will be doing lots of parts swaping. Will have pics soon
  14. Looks like a nice start, good clean MJ. Got big plans or keeping it mild?
  15. Pics would be very helpful, thanks. Appreciate the heads up on the mounting procedure. I'm debating on LA's or drop brackets right now.
  16. Looks sweet, I like it. Did the XJ kit really involve alot to fit? Intereseted in doing this on mine. What extra fab work was needed exactly?
  17. Looking good Pete, keep us posted. You doing a total repaint or no?
  18. R134 is pretty cheap, convert it over, if it leaks fix what leaks. I plan on going through this with my MJ soon.
  19. Also keep in mind the track bar, if you want your front end centered under the truck you will need a new track bar. Also you should consider new sway bar links, bumpstops and maybe longer brake lines (same year wrangler lines will be plenty long, and available at napa). HTH.
  20. I need to do that to my floor too, damn house projects get in the way of the Jeep projects. I am doing almost the samething, still shopping for donar Jeep or parts. You are swapping the doors right? The wiring is easy, if you have any issues let me know, I have some good sites book marked. I swapped laredo doors into my 91 Eliminator, doing the same thing to this MJ I have now. Keep us posted, that will be one sweet MJ
  21. 99-04 is the WJ, 05&up is the WK. Drive a couple GrandCherokees and see what you think.
  22. Also to add, the 05's still had the 7/70 warrenty, in 06 they went to 3/36. Just something to think about.
  23. What year are you talking about?? I just sold my 2k Grand Cherokee, has all the bells and whistles. They all worked and never gave me trouble, the Jeep has 116k on it. The older ZJ's, the sunroof motor did tend to go, also you may have to fix the seat heater's. Overall they are fairly reliable. I had a couple ZJ's, my last one was a 98 5.9, sold it at 100k, no issues. If you have the cash, look at the new Grand Cherokee's. Our 05 is amazing. Go drive one!!!
  24. don't hammer OME on this one, this guy just put stuff together and called it a lift kit. I can vouch for OME springs and shocks, been running OME stuff for Years. They make great components, top quaility stuff. Again, I'm talking coilsprings and shocks, thats all I have experiance with.
  25. I bought my wife an Audi A6 Quattro, we kept it less than a year before we traded it for a Grand Cherokee. She missed the Jeep to much (had a grand cherokee before the audi). We now have the 05 WK Limited with a Hemi, couldnt be happier. Guess we are just Jeep people,
