Let me save you the trouble. Its a dana 35. Unless it has the tow package and some special order, its a Dana 35. Just like 99% of these trucks.
-
hahahaha. yeah. like i'd let the white one go for less than 7k. I've got at least that into it. hand in hand, the white one is just worth more in sentimentality AND general investment than the red one... finishing up the 89 this weekend and it goes on ebay/craigslist this week unless someone lets me know they want it. for you guys, I'll take $2700 OBO. it will go for $3000 on ebay hopefully. I'd rather see it go to someone on here. Ha, sorry, really don't know much about the white one other than what is in your sig. Have no idea what it would be worth. I do think that you are in the right ballpark with the red one, if I didnt already have one I would look to buy it. It shouldnt be forsale very long for that price.
-
That 89 came out real nice, looks awesome! But I understand the need to sell, happens to all of us in the early years of no money and school debt. I would think you could pull 2100 out of the white one, no? The Red one is worth more than that for sure.

It was listed on autotrader in the butler pa (western). Its a 96, should still be on. I do like the ZR2, was looking at a few of them, really a nice truck.

I built several fast cars, last fast car was a 3rd generation RX7 twin turbo. Tryin to stick with 4wd's these days. Probably stay with the MJ for my DD for now, need to get out there and get workin on it, damn house projects keep me too busy. Would be fun to swap a hemi or LS6 into the MJ down the road....who knows.

Wow, that is a clean truck, nice find. Looks good with the lift and wheels. Some pretty country you have to wheel in too
-
Looks like some work ahead for that XJ. I have seen several "dead" engines get a tuneup and last for many more miles.
-
Not sure, the urge may pass for a V8 ZR2. Everytime I see the MJ in the garage I think, "can't wait to get that thing done".
-
Actually the ZR2 has a much heavier drivetrain, full size running gear, than the basic S10. The ZR2 is 4x4 with the skids, heavy drivetrain, etc. I don't want some 2wd truck, not up north here.

So I got to let you know, still looking at trucks. I have a line on a ZR2 with an LT1 for a good price. That is a hell of a truck, that kind of power in a smaller truck............ He wants a bit much, but I gave him my top dollar, take it or leave it. But it is an extra cab, and set up nice, would save me a ton of work in putting the MJ where I want it. Am I the only one that looks at other alternatives? I really would like to stay Jeep, but those ZR2's are bad A$$$. Before I get bashed, I have owned over 20 XJ's, 2 MJ's, and tons of other Jeeps, but also owned several chevy's. I like the ZR2's. Input on this??????????????????

Here's a couple I found pretty quick. Maybe out of your area but just as nice looking and cheaper. http://westky.craigslist.org/car/377818946.html http://charlotte.craigslist.org/car/405396523.html forgot one http://yakima.craigslist.org/car/402525379.html  If that one in charlotte was available before I bought mine I would have jumped on it. That is one sweet MJ!

I've dealt with Rusty's several times, never any problem with the parts or service. I plan on buying some things from them for my current MJ. Until I actually have a bad experiance with them I will continue to use them. I know several of my friends have his lift parts and never a problem either, and yes they get wheeled hard. I do know of failures with the Rusty's products from the internet, just havent experianced it first hand. Also have seen pics of some top notch products that failed, that stuff happens. I would run Rustys over a Rough Country or other cheaper lifts. Its up to you if you want to run that lift or not, just saying don't totally discount it because of what folks on the internet say.

Any of the warn's that are not "I" models. I have the XD9000, I have had the M8000 in them before too. The M8000 is a great price if you shop around, and plenty winch for the XJ/MJ.

swaping 91 wrangler 4.2L into 88 comanche
Rob S replied to inline242's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
91 was the first year the 4.0 was in the YJ. It was a HO. If it is actually a 90 4.2 carb'd engine, save it for parts when you build a stroker, otherwise it makes a good boat anchor. -
Looking good!!! I have an ARB and Warn 9k in the basement waiting to go on my MJ......when she is finally done

297? ujoints...and what year brake booster upgrade?
Rob S replied to JeepcoMJ's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
The dual diaphram booster started in 95. The upgraded axle started in 96 (usage of 297 joints). -
I don't know why you would need to beef up a high pinion D30? For 95% of us, the D30 will be more than sufficient. It was run in the CJs with the V8s. I will swap in solid axles in mine, going with the 297 ujoint's. Its plenty of axle. I have the D30 in my TJ, it runs ARB's with 456 gears, never broke anything in it. It totes 35's and gets wheeled hard. Go solid axle (I plan on going with rustys setup for steering) and upgrade the steering and its will be fine.

She is pretty, I dropped a bid on her too. I have a rust free 89 in the garage so my motivation is a bit lower than some. It is a nice truck, and worth a bit. Despite what people say, a clean MJ is a getting very hard to find. I paid 3k for mine......and have her stripped down, plan on replacing tons of parts. Mostly its personal preference stuff, like the pwr options and so forth. But I paid that amount for a rust free truck that I will do many mods too. A truck like this one listed on ebay is worth every bit of 5k. If you don't think so, its because you can't afford it. If you want a clean MJ, buck up, if you want a rusted project, they can be had for cheap.

Not that I condone this, but years back when I was a poor college student. I owned two CJ's...........and one set of plates (the plates were worth more than the Jeeps). If your white one is road legal, you could swap plates just to air out the red one a bit. As far as company's for insurance, when I was young I had Progressive, I now have Gieco, been with them for years and really like them.
