  1. You sure you don't mean the D44, that was offered in the Metric ton pkg?
  2. Seem like pretty solid little Jeeps. Had one at the last Jamboree I went to in the catskills, it did good for being stock...and the chick that drove it was smokin hot. She didnt wheel with our group but I did see some video of it, pretty tough little Jeep. When my moms XJ finally dies, I will look for a liberty to replace it. can't really compare it to a Grand Cherokee though, different animal all together.
  3. Did you put an AMC 20 in the back of your Jeep? They used them in the fullsize J10's, never saw them use one in an MJ. Any of the larger more popular offroad shops are good to deal with, few dealers on here maybe they can chime in.
  4. Holy crap, thats a great deal!! I'm still on the debate of 32's or 33's, but this is hard to pass up. Pro Comp are good tires, and the MT's are sipped.
  5. Hey guys, figured someone must have done this by now. I did read the whole post on the MC swap in the projects forum, helped some. But, here is my issue. I want to use the newer switch, what wires do I need to splice. I do have a large white pressure switch on the brake pedal now, not sure what that is? Maybe something to do with the trans selecter (need to brake before you move it)? My MJ is a colum shift. So here is what I need. What wires off the brake switch and this white pressure switch do I need to splice into the 96 pressure switch? I am staying with the 89 pedel assembly since it has the trans selector cable bracket welded on to it. TIA
  6. Keep me posted on this one, always good to have an extra set.
  7. I used alot of it in my WJ, mostly in the doors. Made a huge difference, not only noise reduction, but made the Jeep feel real solid. Going to use it extensively in the doors of this one too.
  8. Been awhile since I did an update. I am starting to get all the interior back together. Did the new headliner and all the trim minus the dash. I installed a 99 console (looks good) that will match my Leather seats nicely. Just need to do the seats and dash. I installed the 96 brake system, still need to get the lines to connect it all up. Its nice to be putting it back together, rather then tearing it all apart! I will get more done this weekend and try and post some pics.
  9. Looks like its coming along well. Those silver doors look nice :D Curious why you didnt go with just a newer set of doors, the latch is an easy swap to the cab? I considered this with my MJ, but got a set of loaded doors from a 96 to use.
  10. Really nice rig...... and built right
  11. Wow, this is turning out to be a one of the nicer MJ's I've seen. Your makin good progress, at least compared to me. My project is moving too slow, life and work keeps getting in the way  I'm anxious to see yours done, that is going to be sweet.
  12. Yeah, the wiring is bad somewhere. I may have to go with a new hot wire. Can I splice in a new hot wire to the orange wire off the blower, will that still enable me to use the fan switch? Or should I install the splice at the resister under the pass foot well?
  13. It is a closed pressurized system. Is the coolent bottle and cap in good condition? When it gets warm, turn the cap a little to loosen it, if you hear the air hissing, the system is pressurized. If no hissing, then either the cap or coolent bottle is bad. Hope that helps.
  14. I run the full ZJ steering set up on my TJ, will do the same to my MJ. If you plan on lifting it, grab the pitman arm too, its a one inch drop from the XJ/MJ/TJ.
  15. This one has me stumped. 89 Cherokee Laredo. No power to the blower motor, no power to the fan switch on the dash. No power to the resister on the lower passenger side. Good fuse in the fuse box. The replacement of the fuse caused some smoke from the pass side foot well (couldnt pinpoint the location), I removed the fuse  Any suggestions? Wildman, I went through the schematics you sent me, still can't find the culprit. Just for clairification, I checked all the wiring with the fuse in it, then I removed the fuse just incase before the Jeep was driven.
  16. I would like to find a clean old limited, always liked them, nice rig you got there!

    Chutzpah!

    You can say that again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  18. Wildman, don't forget the XJ's that keep showin up!!!!
  19. That one was floating around awhile ago. Just shows how tough those little XJ's are!
  20. I like it, didnt think I would like the texture, but its cool. Need to do inside the doors :D Just do a bedliner in the bed.
  21. A ZJ pitman arm will drop the steering down 1", and yes it does help keep the angles closer to stock. I will use one on my MJ. DW can come from a many things, usually track it to some steering/suspension component that is worn or loose. Check the trackbar and LCA'a, make sure they are tight. Then go over the rest of the steering, tie rods, etc. I have heard that an out of balance tire will cause it too, may try rotateing the tires, see if that helps. So many things to check, just try and eliminate them one at a time.
  22. Clean lookin truck!
  23. Cool, sounds great, wish I lived closer!!!
  24. Looks sharp. You going to keep the wheels gold? Might look good with black centers?
  25. If you want to make the trip check the classifieds. I have a cheap 94 XJ that would have everything you need to do the swap.
