Rear Disk Brakes and Stock Wheels
Keyav8r replied to 1990 Comanche's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
I'll second the "looks better" with Spidertrax 1.25" spacers. Can't comment on the clearance issue as I still have drums on the rear. -
Bump! Anyone anywhere close to Alabama have a SWB bedliner for sale?
-
Dayum! That woman means business. Grab hold and hang on tight, brother!

Agree with Eagle and Shelbyluv, our flag represents the character and beliefs of our nation and the blood of those who have sacrificed defending it. The flag should not be used as an ornament. It should be properly and respectfully displayed.

Is that an Allison engine in that monster?

What later model XJ inner fender liners fit 91 MJ?
Keyav8r replied to Keyav8r's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Thanks, Don. That's a lot better than going to the JY and trying to get one out without breaking it. Not to mention the mosquito bites, rusty fasteners, scrapes and bruises. -
To each his own. I'll keep pulling the handle when I close my tailgate. I'd rather hear a couple of clicks than a thud.

OP - your photo is of the master cylinder. 64 Cheyenne is talking about the slave cylinder at the bellhousing. Internal meaning it is mounted inside the bell housing, external meaning it's mounted outside the bellhousing. Determine which yours is and bleed appropriately per his 3rd post. Someone had a question recently about the line to the internal slave and the photo showed the bleed valve. Look in this section, title was something like "What is this line on the transmission?"

Brings back memories of my first (and only, so far) helicopter ride around Maui. You've got some pretty country around you. Is the city Vancouver?
-
Definitely A. IMHO - B is too plain and C looks too old school.

When I repaired the tailgate on my 88 MJ I had the same problem. I solved it by bending the "arms" a little tighter so that they didn't have to move as far to pull the latches. Putting an S bend in the rods might work as well. Yes, you need to pull the handle when you close the tailgate to avoid damaging the latches and/or the latch plates and/or the tailgate sheet metal.

Nice work! I applaud you for doing it yourself. You've got more talent for carpentry than you think you do.

Got my '91 MJ manual on CD from BISHKO and it covers the truck systems well.

Look at that bench seat now
Keyav8r replied to 91Pioneer's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
The bags cleaners put over clothes work well as the thin plastic between the seat cushions and the seat covers when puttim Ng the covers back on. I "pre-treated" a set of XJ seat covers then threw them in the washer for one cycle and they came out great. (Anyone around Birmingham need a set of tan XJ 4dr buckets with XJ brackets at a very reasonable cost?) -
If it works for her and you and expresses your commitment to her, what anyone else thinks doesn'y really matter.

I'm with "89" on this. Don't overthink it or rehearse a speech because that tends to come off canned. Just sit down and do as neohic said - write down what makes her special and the only one for you. Then put those basic points firmly in your mind and run through them regularly so they'll retrieve when you're ready to say them to her. Just look in her eyes and let the thoughts come out as words. They'll mean more as open expressions of how you actually feel about her than as a rehearsed speech. For our 50th we went to Maui and I wanted to do a big deal vow renewal. But it just got to be a hassle trying to line the whole thing up long distance. So, after dinner on our anniversary I took her hand, walked out to the beach overlook and told her that I love her more now than ever before, that she is more beautiful now than the day we married, that she is the only woman for me, that I appreciate how she's able to put up with my crap and still love me (phrased that a little differently), that I want to spend how every many years God gives us going to sleep beside her, waking up next to her each morning, and sharing all the big and little things in our life together. There were more words than that, but as long as the thought comes across, that's all that matters.

Anybody bought seat brackets off of Andys Autosport??
Keyav8r replied to Kano808's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Their website says return for refund less shipping both ways and 15% restocking. If the item is damaged, defective or "wrong", they'll waive the shipping and restock fees. Guess it depends on what your definition of wrong is (to paraphrase Slick Willy). -
I'll be driving up I-65 from Birmingham, AL to Nashville, TN and then I-24 from Nashville to Paducah, KY on 7/29 and returning on 7/30. Anyone along that route have a SWB bedliner for sale?
-
Outstanding!

Don't believe a lwb liner can be made to fit a swb. I believe I've heard the swb is shorter ahead of and behind the axle as comoared to the lwb. Which wheels do you have? Might be interested in 10 holes.

If the body is good and all the pieces are there, go for it. I had a 64 F100 2WD with the 6 cylinder (probably the 292), 3 on the tree and a ton of miles on it that was a good solid truck.
