Each month that I've been doing MJOTM has always started off with this long introduction explaining each month's pick. Maybe toss in some kind of twist of words or metaphor... it drags on regardless of how I go about it. This month is different. This month I'm really at a loss over what to say about the truck. I mean, come on... this month's pick is just amazing. Doesn't matter what angle you look at it, it's just pure awesome. With everything is has, what else can you even compare it to anyhow? Loud, bright color... perfect stance... Moabs... the ever elusive WilderNest... What else is there to say besides this month's MJOTM is a one-stop-shop when it comes to the complete... COMPLETE... package. Usamedic's '87 Chief!!! YEAR/MODEL ●1987 Comanche Chief ENGINE/PERFORMANCE ● 4.0 / aw4 DRIVETRAIN ● Dana 30 / Dana 44 (upcoming upgrade will be 4:88 gears and arb lockers) COOLING ● Stock ELECTRICAL/IGNITION ● Electrical includes a 150 amp alternator from San Jose Generator, upgraded wire for main battery alternator and all grounds, National Luna Powerpack for "house battery" and self jumpstart ability, and a backup solar system for charging either battery. I used a bunch of course scotch pads along with a quick run over with a wire wheel on a grinder.

Good luck with everything! The key to a DIY bedliner is the prep. I used the Herculiner brand and it's held up great for years now.

Not really sure if this is what this thread is all about, but I find the strangest things to do right around 2:00 in the morning. Normally, I'm a routine sleeper... usually in bed right around 9:30 and up again at 6:00 during the week and around 7:30 on the weekends. I sleep a lot. When I'm up in the middle of the night that typically means that there's something wrong. YouTube is always a fun place to start... get into some crazy videos that turns into researching dumb ideas of potential future builds. TED talks... more research. At some point, my online archaeology leads me to going through the whole house doing OCD like actions like refolding all the blankets because no two are folded the same. Late night snacks can also get crazy. All else fails and I still can't fall asleep... Counting With Pictures.

Anything is fixable whether it be done by a professional or by yourself. If it were me, and I despise body work, I'd give it a shot and see what I could make out of it. It's already totaled, right? If it doesn't work out to your liking then I'd find a donor and start swapping. On the other hand, it's still looks to be a pretty rust free truck with good bones. Someone would buy it in its current state and fix it themselves or turn into a trail rig. It's a sad deal no matter how you look at it. I know I'd be lost it I were in your shoes. Keep your chin up, sir.

I know you said that you were going to work in some kind of body lift, but I'm curious why you put the front crossmember so high. If it were me, I would've taken advantage of the opportunity for making room for a larger radiator. Regardless of going with a stock Jeep drivetrain or not, even the 4.0 could use better cooling. I bet a ZJ radiator would fit your frame with little rework. Even going with a stock unit for mock up and use for now would open up a huge door for future upgrades.

That's true too as it just wouldn't work as a continuous storyline because the poor guy would be getting a little old and running out of steam by now. I meant it more as the continuing shenanigans that the character keeps running into.
