Not so much. Ratios: 2.5/5spd = 4.10, 2.5/4spd = 3.55, 4.0/auto = 3.55, 4.0/5spd = 3.07... typically anyhow.

From my wanted ad for a HO gauge cluster: Like I said in the quote, never have I been one to really stir things up and throw mud at someone. Just wanted things known to make sure you know who you're buying things from. I've never had any issues in the past purchasing something here from someone I've never personally met, but just the thought that I was doing business with someone from CC was good enough reason to show a little trust. We're all friends, right? I like to think so! Really too bad things come to publicly calling someone out that can't seem to handle holding up their part of a deal even WELL after paying for the item. Was it a lot of money? Maybe not, but it was definitely enough that you'd pick it up off the ground if you saw it. Anyhow, I guess what I really wanted to say is a big "thank you" to Dando. Thank you for relieving me of a lump of cash that you clearly didn't think I deserved anything for.

Swapping 96 Cherokee To 86 Comanche
neohic replied to Herc's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
I've thought about the same thing many times. You've got the cruise control switches on the '96 steering wheel to work with also. -

Going to need more pictures than that. -
Awfully rust free looking MJ for MN. Where are you located at?

Love the Gamblers on any MJ. The blacked out centers are just beautiful too.

Not sure if the tape would be enough for that poor thing. I have personally seen a frame that someone tried to fix with rebar and concrete though. Might need a couple bags of mix for that one!

Very much so...

Probably sooner than later. End of next week? He told me that the molds have been touched up over the years a few times already. After this run, he claims that the mold just might hit the end of the line.

I plan on using zeus fasteners on mine. Should I start a list of names of those on board?

The elusive Archer Racing SCCA front spoilers are soon to be out of production for good. Many have asked... few have purchased... fewer yet have been produced. If ever you've wanted your own piece of Jeep Motorsports history, now is going to be your last chance. So... here's the scoop: I just got off the phone with John Archer and he says that he is doing a final run of their original front spoiler. He's got enough buyers lined up to justify the price of production that he's given the green light. Right now, the number is still up in the air as to how many will actually be produced, but it will only be for as many as they need to fill the order... that means no extras will be left behind for future stock. They are produced from hand laid fiberglass and these things are thick and very good quality. Here's the kicker, he wants to be producing in about two weeks. The price was set at $450/spoiler plus shipping. Group pricing breaks aren't really an option due to the fact that it's a local boat shop that shuts down their usual production to make these. John asked me if I'd post up something to get a number put together of how many to potentially expect. If anyone is seriously interested, now is the time to speak up. ALSO IN THE PUB

Jeep Comanche Roll Bar Questions
neohic replied to Jacob Ochs's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Anything is possible with a little fab time. I think this is the same bar you're looking at in a Comanche: That one came from a Ranger as well. Found in THIS THREAD. -
I think it looks like its got a fancy hat!

Glad I didn't get around to painting the bed yet... ... been spending all weekend trimming trees.

Wiring Waggy Lights On Xj.
neohic replied to onlyinajeep726's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
I've read a few places in the interwebs about people using a trailer wiring harness to use single light housings in the rear of their XJs. I've thought about doing similar if I'd ever go HO in my '88. Maybe something like that? :dunno: -

6013? Geez... sounds to me like they need some better skilled CT operators that can handle a better quality rod. Sure the 6013 will probably do just fine but they might want to think twice about the mere 60,000 pound tensile strength... will that be enough to keep that brain box closed up? What if you have a real head scratcher?! You just might bust a seam!! Maybe bring along some 7018 and ask them to use their best people. I'd also make sure to ask if there'll be any testing of the joint post welding. Key terms here are destructive or non-destructive... you want non-destructive unless you've got someone to drive you home afterwards. :D

How cow!... It's June already! I don't know about anyone else, but this whole year just keeps flying by. Seems as though there's always just too much work that needs to be done every year only to have it all sneak up and slip by. Projects get put on hold... time slips by even farther... it's just a revolving door of "yup... I'll get to it before I put the truck away for winter". I sometimes wonder how much I could actually get done if I just stuck with it until I was completely done. For one, I would assume these projects wouldn't just linger around. Might just be amazed at how fast I'd move from one thing to the next. Will it happen for me?... probably not. Ever notice one of those builds that seems to pop up and just keep moving right along? I know I have! CC, this month your MJOTM goes to... Ronbo's '92 Longbox!!! YEAR/MODEL ●1992 basic long bed ENGINE/PERFORMANCE ● Stock 4 Liter H.O. DRIVETRAIN ● AX15 five speed Dana 30 front axle with Chrome Molly shafts Ford 8.8 rear with disk brakes 4.88 gearing in the axels with ARB Air Lockers front and rear Slip Yoke Eliminator in the transfer case and new rear drive shaft by Fleet Pride COOLING ● New stock radiator Planning on extra electric fan soon ELECTRICAL/IGNITION ● Stock SUSPENSION/STEERING ● 5.5" TNT Custom Lift with SOA swap in the rear INTERIOR ● Switched on the bench seat for buckets Tuffy locking center console Cobra CB BRAKES ● New Pads and rotors front and rear. LIGHTING ● Stock for now EXTERIOR ● Stock Hunter Green Metallic paint for now Paint has places where the clear coat is gone and needs to be repainted WHEELS/TIRES ● Cooper Discoverer 35x12.50 mud terrains MISCELLANEOUS ● I built the rock sliders, roll bar and added standoffs and kick outs on the rear bumper and rock sliders. The front bumper is a JCR weld together winch bumper and the rear bumper was fabricated by my friend Willy for his MJ prior to a bobbing of his bed. I have done all the work on the truck myself except for setting up the gears and building the rear drive shaft. The truck was stock when I started working on it 6 months ago. Remember That One Time?... Tell Us Your Best MJ Story ● I went over to my buddy's house as I wanted to make a box to house the ARB air compressor. We spent about three hours designing, laying out and fabricating the box. When it was in the shape I wanted with a removable lid I put it together and was holding it. This is when Willy says we built an ammo can. I looked at it and realized that he was right. The funny thing is I had 30 ammo cans in my shop and never thought about using one. I went home that night and the compressor fit just fine in one. We still laugh at ourselves about this. CC is Awesome!... Why Do You Think So? ● This is a great site with lots of useful information. I love to read everyone's build threads and I have stolen ideas for my own build. I use my truck to go 4 wheeling but I appreciate all the different types of builds on the site. I want to commend the site master for starting and continuing to support this site. BUILD THREAD ●●●●●●●●●●●●●●●●●●●●●●●● First off, a huge congratulations on being MJOTM! Second, really awesome truck you've got there. The fact that everything was built by you in no more than a garage is really something. I take a look at some examples of products and finished vehicles that come out of professional shops and I'd put so much of what you've done right up there with them. Third, where did you come from?! Only being a member here since this last November you really came out of the gate swingin'! Really can't be said enough the great job you've done with the truck in such a short amount of time. Congratulations, dude! Enjoy your month! -Ben Click here to view the article

It's been on CL too. I find it amusing that it's advertised with fresh paint but with a picture like this... ... all it reads to me is "Fresh paint over a bunch of rust and filler". :ack:

2.8 Fuel Pump Options, Round 2
neohic replied to mpace6a's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
On a whim, I tried a mega cheap Mr. Gasket electric pump in my Volkswagen and I haven't had any issues with it. Granted, the car only sees a few months of good driving each summer, but it's been a few years that it's been in the car. I wouldn't consider it loud by any means and it sits right on the other side of the footwell... or "firewall" for the front-engine crowd. What I really don't like about it is that it really doesn't look nor feel like a quality piece. Keep in mind the Mr. Gasket logo though. :shake: 2-3.5 PSI: http://www.oreillyauto.com/site/c/detail/MRG0/42S/N0515.oap?pt=N0515&ppt=C0128 4-7 PSI: http://www.oreillyauto.com/site/c/detail/MRG0/12S/N0515.oap?pt=N0515&ppt=C0128
