  1. Some info on the truck would help with an assessment... '86 Comanche Pioneer 4 cyl, 4 speed manual. 216k on the clock, and I am the original owner heat and A/C works beige with tan interior, bench seat sliding rear window, gun rack too :) Pioneer stereo 7 foot bed with two 7 foot side boxes always garaged, never been wrecked That's all I can think of at the moment. Any questions? I'm gonna need a photobucket account or I can email pics. edit: located in SE KS Is it 4x4? that will greatly affect the price. Can you post pictures to see body and interior condition?
  2. Oh I got ya. We theoretically you should be able to wire a on off switch with a bypass of course followed by a potentiometer. That should work.....
  3. Why would you want to override the IAC...... I don't under stand.
  4. The picture has the hummer badge on it...
  5. would never happen since there is no such thing as hummer any more
  6. Thanks I love it, I had to wait almost 3 months from the time of order to get it but it was worth it.
  7. Little bit of a update. since I graduated, got an engineering job & attempting to do my best to grow my bussiness I havent had much time for the Mj.... I have done a few things here and there and drive it from time to time.. But, I need to try to get this thread up to date on where I'm at with it. I still have not put on the long arm lift, new front axle, or tires. Me and some buddies were planning on hopping back on this thing this weekend to try to fab up the crossmember in the attempt to hopefully have it lifted and 4x4 back in it for the summer months ahead. Unfortunately weather is not going to cooperate. SO now the plan is to work on it 3rd weekend in Feb. The cross member fab is the major stepping stone. after that everything else is ready to bolt up. I also just recently blew out the rear main seal. Since at this point my time is more valuable than money is I plan on taking it to a shop and have them button up every leak on this thing. That will be the first thing that happens after the lift is on. Then Its a alignment, fluid changes, and then Ill have measurements to order the front drive shaft. Man I'm ready to get this thing back off the pavement where it is suppose to be...
  8. Neat. At $125 ready to go the price isn't bad Same thing I thought. Makes me want to order one and install in in the dash some where. I bet if you took your time you could install it with a nice clean factory look in the right spot. Would just need to make some sort of bezzel. which wouldnt be very hard.
  9. here is a compass gauge you could mount it in a gauge pod http://www.manventureoutpost.com/products/Ritchie-X%252d21WW-Compass-%252d-Dash-Mount-%252d-White%7B47%7DBlack-%28X%252d21WW%29.html?google=1&gclid=COKAk-L2ucMCFQeKaQodtz0AmQ
  10. looks like this might be what your looking for. Pretty neat. Just doesnt have a compass http://store.camerontech.io/products/offroad-cpu
  11. I have a 88 auto 4.0 4x4 from Canada. I know its from canada cause my speedo is in KPH and temp is listed in celcius. To top it off I also have a factory block warmer. It has NO A/c and It did not have a Aux fan. I hooked up one myself. Really needed it to keep them Mj cool here in Texas. I just got a aux fan wiring kit and wired up.
  12. I would do this if I still drank beer. Beer was for the college days. Now is some Jim Beam that sets me right.
  13. I don't own one but from reading on here. I get this impression. First off. Don't buy one if you have limited knowledge on diesel engines. They are a PIA to find parts for. They are nit picky engines. Also you can't act like you have the choice to buy one if you want because you most likey don't. They are VERY hard to find in the states still on the road. If I remember right someone on here said their were prolly less than 40 in the us. And last if I was to get lucky enough to find one that was in good running order it prolly wouldn't ever drive it because of the rarity.... I want to say about 4 guys on here own one. I think one of them is automan2164.
  14. What about all the crap inside a cat? How is that not restricting air flow? You are displacing open area with material. In turn lowers the amount of area for air to travel through. Which is causing restriction. correct?
  15. I have a 88 4.0. when I bought it the previous owner had removed the cat and welded in a section of pipe to replace it. I redid my exhaust about two years ago. I Put a Pacesetter header on and went to 2.5 inch header back. Also put a 2.5 inch high flow cat and a magnaflow muffler. When I picked it up from the shop I hit the skinny peddle hard excited to see the extra power I had gained..... Well I immediately felt like a fat kid in a vegetarian burger joint. There was a huge loss of power. I can't really even brake the tire loose now... I thought It was cause I added a cat though. SO my whole intention up until now was to rip the cat back out and expect the power gain back. IF what yall are saying is true That isnt going to do anything for me. So looks like I need to redo the exhaust again?
  16. In TX, it depends on the year of the vehicle. My 87 needs no cat to pass safety and emiasions. On the subject of a bored out TB making a difference, if you have a high flowing exhaust, intake, and injectors, it'll give you a bit more power in the high RPM range. If you have a bigger cam and better flowing intake and head, it really pays off. If you're bone stock, I suspect just cleaning your old one will have the same effect. Not sure if you were told wrong or I was. But when I had my full exhaust done at a local muffler shop the told me 78 and older did not need one. or around that time. I can quite remember now but I know my 88 was several years from falling into that category when they told me that. If you are right I am rippin my cat out.
  17. this is off topic crusier but what about your ecu swap in conjunction with a bored throttle body? Btw I don't know if I stated this before but I have upgraded my injectors to the 4 port neon injectors and Have done full exhaust. Pacesetter header to 2.5 inch exhaust. High flow cat, and magnaflow muffler. Along with a complete new and upgraded ignition system. ( even thought that won't make much difference. So I feel like I a, Set up to Get good potential out of the 60mm TB and be able to see a noticeable difference.
  18. If this is true, is there a more powerful pump that we can swap over from a different year model? for example like we can do for the 99 durango gearbox?
  19. I also have your bumper and have had it for about 2 years now. doing great.
  20. Let me know when you track down the problem so I can fix it also. I thought It had something to do with me putting a durango steering box in.
  21. mine has been doing the same thing and its a new power steering pump, lines, pully. I also have a new 99 durango gear box in mine.
  22. When do you plan on having it done and dynoed?
