  1. Dana 35 is out- amc 20 in place, will button up the rest tomorrow after work, main goal today was to get the axle under the truck.. an hour and a half isn't that bad is it? Sucks that I have to do it again but it's all worth it at the end right? And after a few years of ordering I rockauto to try and get This specific magnet and I guess the stars aligned, I finally got it! Whoo!
  2. Funny that you mention this, buddy of mine just had to replace his after a couple months, he has an 03 tj and he said that the luk kit he bought has a plastic throwout bearing and that he had to find one that was made in full metal to last longer, irrc it was a luk brand as well...
  3. Nice! I wonder how 2 auto lockers would ride during dd duties...
  4. Yep, that makes good sense. Another reason why I'll never mount one of those things. I didn't know about the noise until I put it up, I've seen where guys put sealant in between the fins but I haven't gotten to fixing the problem
  5. Wow I had no clue this was a thing but I think this is the problem. I stuck my hand out the window while driving and the light bar was loose enough to move up and down and little. It changed the sound as I moved it and if I held my hand behind the fins it stopped :o I'll look into this some more but I think we may have a winner! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk At first I thought it was my Ax15 trans, because it's been whining lately, then read up on light bar noises and fixes, haven't fixed the issue but it'll stay until I get annoyed by it
  6. Sounds like light bar noise at speed...
  7. my girl sent me this today, pretty cool https://teespring.com/mj-comanche-christmas?pr=ig20&tsmac=store&tsmic=jeepology#pid=345&cid=6362&sid=front
  8. Oh man! Worst nightmare ever! Are you at least ok?
  9. If you want to go the budget route, Here's a link that explains different extended brake lines for lifted jeeps, I went with the Chevy 1500 brake lines and have plenty of slack.... http://www.cherokeetech.com/VBull/showthread.php?1477-Over-the-counter-Extended-brake-Lines
  10. Good progress, what made you get away from the 2-door? I remember your build over from Cherokee forum,
  11. Thank you sir, Well plans didn't come as I expected, Code inspector came by and told me I had to get get rid of my jeep pile, or I'll pay a fine, so 8.25 is out of the build plans and amc 20 is going back in....and store the rest of my stuff in a storage unit until I buy a 8x10 storage unit) Just gotta find a weekend to do it....most likely the end of October because time change is coming soon and I'll need as much daylight to get this axle in...
  12. Well I picked up the amc 20 from a long bed 2.8 Comanche in a jy, if I recall correctly the mj amc 20 is a one peice design, which is known to be stout, but I am on the look out for for spare axle shafts, but wondered if anyone knew the sizes
  13. What's up fellas I know it's a long shot but wanted to know if you guys know the measurements for the amc 20 axle shafts?
  14. That looks like 54bobby truck... I think he did a build thread on it... Edit: no build thread but http://comancheclub.com/topic/37029-noob-here-wan-87-comanche/?fromsearch=1
  15. Damn, even without any extra load (lights, winch, stereo, etc)? I was trying to get a set of pre-made wires but it's looking like I'll be buying a hydraulic crimper and making my own. Anyone have gauges/ lengths needed by chance? Sent from my SM-G930T using Tapatalk Nope just plain Jane simple at the time, no radio,no lights, just either the cables were old and cruddy or just couldn't handle the amperage anymore
  16. If you haven't already, switch out your cables for bigger gage cables or just change them out because they are old... I went from a 60amp to 100amp on my truck and melted the wires, luckily I caught it in time and not burn down my truck... Pics of wires....
  17. Took a pic of self motivation plus I was bored at work lol...
  18. Thank you! You'll never look back after the upgrade
  19. Truck is looking good! It's hard not to upgrade to bigger tires, lol Just recently threw 35s on mine with 3.5" lift and it looks stout...eventually I'll have 4.88s and lsd front and rear (4cyl) if not I'd get 4.10s and 35s like my 98xj....
  20. This ^, don't leave anything visible, and be safe....
  21. I have a 3.5" lift and 35x12.5x15 tires on my truck and no rubbing but I did have to do some cutting on the inner pinch seam and fender to not rub at all...with the stock sway bar and quick disconnects... But the rims I have are 15x8 with 3.75 backspacing jegs d-window rims
  22. Nice! Need more pics!!!
  23. lol I said the same when I bought it, You can't beat the price for all the accessories and the mounts for the light bar, if you look around you can get them for like $23-24 Never mind found one for $20 shipped http://m.ebay.com/itm/70517-For-84-01-JEEP-CHEROKEE-XJ-Roof-Mount-Brackets-for-50-Curved-LIGHT-BAR-/151586713008?hash=item234b45adb0%3Ag%3AYAgAAOSw4dtXgF7Q&_trkparms=pageci%253A25852dd4-899b-11e6-a00a-005056b688de%257Cparentrq%253A8be7e2871570a2a3d5bdd3a2fffb4b5b%257Ciid%253A10
