That's sucks, but his mentaility is childish, I'm 29 and I wouldn't have done that...but I'd just rub it off and go on about my life... But karma does happen, it'll come back twice as hard on him...

Running rich during errands

What's a good way to fix this? Besides replacing it with an actual air box? Gorilla glue? -
Running rich during errands
88whitemanche replied to 88whitemanche's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
I just saw this morning where the fumes were constantly coming out of the hose from the valve cover and pretty much filling the engine bay with fumes and I'm sure into the cab....Also, noticed my throttle body is sweating, is it normal? When I tried to smell the wetness it didn't smell like anything -

The 2.5 only has one injector directly above the throttle body, You reminded me that I needed to replace my air box as one of the plastic pcs that connect to the top of the valve cover broke as I was in process to replace my motor mounts The hoses at the gas tank and fuel filter are all brand new as of a couple months ago, And the hoses at the charcoal canister are rotted to the fullest but didn't know they pull fuel fumes in, ill replace those as soon as possible... -
3rd? What are you doing to these engines? Lol

Running rich during errands
88whitemanche replied to 88whitemanche's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
So for sure I gotta get a new exhaust, but you reminded me of the exhaust hose that goes into the air box, I'll double check if it's connected.... -
What's up fellas Lately I've been noticing a rich smell of gas inside the cab during running errands/heavy traffic after a fuel up... Yesterday I was with my girl and even she was concerned about the smell, I instantly thought that it could be my o2 sensor but I know I have an exhaust leak in the exhaust manifold.... I checked at the gas tank and no leaking from the tank, no visual from the hoses, Any other ideas? Thanks in advance

Nice pick-up, No amc 20? -
I know I bashed the poly brown dog motor mounts for being to rough (too much vibration) but I decided to give the rubber ones a chance, considering I was looking the other day that the tip of the bolt for the passenger side motor mount is only about 1/2"-3/4"away from the alternator power wire. I decided to get the mounts for stability and if I'm offoroading I don't want issues later down the line....

When was the last time you replaced your starter relay? Or cleaned the connections on it? Just to be sure, make sure they are in the right spot because mine were reversed and a hell of a time trying to figure stuff out till one day I looked at pictures online and the were swapped (ignition grounding out/ and vice versa) to make sure they are in the right place

The symptoms your explaining sounds like the tps, I had a tps (maybe original), that would sputter, but run fine at times, then after run like crap, then finally it got to the point I could drive it more than a minute before sputtering and sputtering until I disconnected it one day cleaning grounds l/electrical connectors and it ran like new and didn't realize it wasnt plugged in till I pop the hood... I replaced itand adjust to cruisers methods and haven't had a problem since...

Please Explain This! - 4wd Issue
88whitemanche replied to JaysJeep's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Maybe because your thinking that 4wd means all wheels need to move, when your in 2wd unless you have an lsd/locker, of some sort means that both wheels spin at the same time...if your open diff one wheel will have power as the other would just roll because it's not the wheel that receiving the power...- 33 replies

Zone Off-road shocks
88whitemanche replied to shelbyluvv's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
To better explain how they work, they feel like your riding on worn out shocks... My Comanche has gas filled white body shocks (rough country brand) and it floats like a cadi compared to my xj with the hydro shocks -
Zone Off-road shocks
88whitemanche replied to shelbyluvv's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
I have them on my xj and I don't like them, They only work while in motion and aren't stiff at all, they'll be best for off-road use but not dd duties, I'll swap over until they wear out -

8.8 clutch packs bad
88whitemanche replied to Jackrabbit41's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
From what I've read, Changing out clutch packs should be as easy as changing out a set of spider gears, just read how they would go for your driving needs and can be simple... here's a vid to get some insight.... https://youtu.be/doHeWBi0znc
