  1. So my shakedown run was a great success. No problems, great performace off road, I even did a few things I told myself i wasnt going to do, since things were going so well. I went out with mulipurposemj and he banged up his rockers a little but my only damage was breaking off and losing my drivers side mirror. Here are a few shots. ben's (mulipurposemj) damage can't wait to go out again!
  2. i Believe that is camo89's MJ
  3. Ok so I have all four corners trimmed, got my rearview mirrow back on, got a fullsize spare, and got my speedo working. Still need to do, Build rear bumper Fix idle Rock Rails Still want to do, Buckets On-board Air Rollbar/exocage 4:1 T-case blah blah blah My truck is all loaded up and I'm going on a shakedown run tomorrow at Browns Camp. I've logged in several hundred miles on pavement. So i'm hoping i won't have any surprises tomorrow.
  4. thanks willy. I've got to come see your jeep sometime so i can steal some of your ideas! I'm only about 100 miles away. Would you be willing to share what steel you used for the rear bumper. Imitation is the best form of flattery.
  5. I tried to get banned from here, but it didnt work. ;)
  6. Yeah I'll get a measurement on if for you, when I get home. I'm in Salem until Saturday.
  7. did you make your own brackets for the rear bumper?
  8. It made a big difference. Less nose lift on acceleration. Less nose dive while braking. Flatter cornering and a more stable and precise steering feel. Everyone should do that mod. Its so easy and so cheap. It's the best $12 I've ever spent!
  9. Write up is now up in the DIY section.
  10. yes they will. I ran that same size on my factory 87 Jeep alloys.
  11. I'd heard a few people say that the V8 ZJ swaybay was larger and was a direct swap but I'd never seen anyone do it. I was at the U-pull it and decided to grab one. $12. The best $12 I've ever spent. You'll need a V8 ZJ Swaybar and both mounts with bushings. Here are a few shot of the stock MJ Bar compared to the V8 ZJ one. MJ Bar on top V8 ZJ on bottom. Here is a shot of the bushings, show the difference in size. MJ on the Left V8 ZJ on the right. I have JKS disconnects so I had that to bolt up to it. But if you have stock links or rubicon links they will still bolt up. All bolted up. Be sure to use the mounts and bushings from the ZJ. I'd recommend buying new bushings as they are around $10. I just ordered mine but wanted to try it out right away. Over all this mod greatly improves on road manners. Nose lift on acceleration was decreased. Nose dive while braking was reduced. All handling aspects were improved, flatter cornering and increased steering feel. I'd recommend this mod to anyone that has ever put their MJ or XJ on the street. Great upgrade for a daily driver or even if you only drive your Jeep to the Trail its worth it.
  12. My trimmed rear flares. I also installed a V8 ZJ swaybar. GREAT UPGRADE! Best $12 I ever spent. I'll post a DIY write up on it. here are a few shots of it.
  13. Here are few pictures of my Header as requested. Here you can see a dent my front shaft made while flexing with no shocks in at 3"
  14. I flexed my junk out at work the other day. Sorry pics are bad quality but it was dark out. I need longer bump stops because I had to stop when my tire touched my inner fender.
  15. I'll grab some for you tomorrow.
  16. I have a pacesetter header on my 87 and it bolted up great and was a great replacement to my cracked manifold. i've had it over a year with no problems. I'd recommend them to anyone. but then again i didn't have any problems sorry to hear about your issues with them.
  17. I'm glad you ditched the blocks and pipe driveshaft. good move.

  21. I had to mount them that way because the body of the shock interfered with the tabs on the axle. I had a rancho shock i tested it out with and the body on that one didnt hit. These shocks are temporary until i get Bilstein 5150's ( )
