  1. I also used the 4-pane CRL slider, the same window the factory used, but it required the gasket. But this was a few years ago......... Yeah back when they had electric sliders, I would have paid handsomely for that
  2. I purchased the "dark" CR Laurant four pane in October (they don't make the 3 pane anymore). The installer used the Knife to remove the old slider, and this fancy "glue gun" to install and seal the new slider which does not have a gasket like the old slider. It cost me $70 to have this done which I happily paid because there is no way I had the skill, knowledge or that gun to make it happen. It has rained pretty good out here and no leaks so far. I wanted to do the electric slider but they didn't make those anymore either
  3. Many years ago there was a Canadian fellow with the handle of "Cutch" that did this mod on JU.
  4. Good looking truck! If you are the CFO in your home you should go for it believe me you won't regret it . I had the perfect oportunity for 1972 J4000 a while back but the CFO in my house vetoed the idea  but I think about that missed opportunity often.
  5. Ah Dregs list is always an adventure for me. During the Playstation III and now the Nintendo WII craze there are folks showing up to buy a WII only to be robbed of their cash. PingPong had a good rule of thumb for vehicles, I also never invite someone to my house and only meet in lighted public areas for my transactions. And the tire kickers stating "your 4.0 has over 100,000 miles" calling it "high mileage" are even more fun to deal with.
  6. yes. you need the wagoneer headlamp connectors. other than that, you can do the mod with what you have there. I just cut out the connectors and fed them into the factory ones just in case i ever went back to stock. for the turn signals, grab a file and you can file out the wagoneer turn signals to fit your factory ones. I think those grille's look great but I guess we are a minority here. Just add the Hella lights from here and you would have a really nice upgrade. http://www.rallylights.com/hella/165mm_lo.asp
  7. Very sorry for your loss, my wife and I had to put our 5 year old Dacshund down last June, she found this site very helpful. http://network.bestfriends.org/phs/news/ I got my wife another Dacshund pup within two weeks, although we will never forget our little tootsie, having a little fellow that needs lots of attention and effort helped ease the pain.
  8. $500 reward hell I'll take the truck rollbar and all.
  9. I use Chevron 10/30 (They are the local Oil Giant here in the S.F. Bay Area). I think any oil would be good, I used to love havoline many years ago but can't seem to find it out here anymore.
  10. I don't know about staring, but I just had my windshield replaced and when I talked to the rep to set up the appointment she said "I didn't know Jeep made a pickup". This is a large, nationwide company (Safelite) and I was talking to their central appointment center in Ohio (I'm in California). Mike that exact same thing happened to me last summer with safelite! I don't think California folks appreciate these trucks as much as folks from other States. We have an Air Force base near us (Travis AFB) and most of the interest, questions and comments I get about my truck is from folks stationed there.
  11. Thanks! If that's the case I might as well pickup some RE 3.5 front springs.
  12. I just bought the Hellcreek 3 inch lift metric ton springs to replace my Rancho 3 inch AAL. I haven't installed the springs yet so basically I am no help, but I will definitely let folks know the result. This proabaly won't happen until summer.
  13. I've had several cars (mostly Mercedes W124 series) converted to R134a in the past, and none of them were as efficient or cold as the R12. Granted, Jeeps seem to adapt better than some other vehicles, and if and when my compressor gives it up, I'll convert. Until then I'm sticking with R12. Speaking of replacing compressors, it looks like the last year of R-12 was 1994? I think the compressors are all bolton compatible from years 1991-1996 so if we were to go with the R134a compressor from a 95 or 96 Cherokee apparently it would be a bolton project (replacing the expansion valve of course.). I am very happy with my A/C now but that might be the road to take when it fails.
  14. My family owns Nissan dealerships so I could go either way but of the last several conversions our techs made IMO the air wasn't as cold after the conversion. I have been toying with the idea of putting in a later (late90's) condenser, compressor when mine finally dies. From my experience those years Neon, GC, sebring, stratus had some of the coldest A/C's of all other rental cars in that era. I rented many in trips to Las Vegas, New Mexico, Texas and Hawaii over the years and those Chrysler A/C's performed very well.
  15. Haha My truck is an Ohio truck still running R-12 here in Ca, I know I am an environmentally insensitive person but R-12 seems much cooler than other alternatives I have tried, and I will also be sticking with it!
  16. Big changes there, Cubi NAS is now mostly a FEDEX operation, and old Mayor Gordon of Olongapo has the rest of it turned into some kind of resort.
  17. Philippines? Wow I was in Subic Bay from 1974-80 what a place.
  18. I wonder if those rims would have been worth more than $400.
  19. I think that is one of the reasons I miss my old TJ. I used to come out from the store or work and find someone else's paint on my old four X Doctor
  20. I have always believed that parking where no one else parks is an attractant to some really strange people. I always park in out of the way places, but for some unexplained reason with 50 other spaces available someone is compelled to park right next to my truck just a few inches away from my passenger door.
  21. I got mine from that guy on ebay excellent quality. I am wondering if the decals Eagle is referring to are the "double exposure" decals. I have a 1991 brochure that shows these decals as far as I could find they aren't available any longer.
  22. Hello Neighbor, I have heard of this problem before and it usually involves the O2 and Catalytic converter. I know you have three trucks and 7K in two years isn't a lot of driving. Is this the truck with the weird short when you depressed the ebrake that made it cut off?
  23. You would save about 20K if AEV built a newer one, but for more money you get this. http://forum.aev-conversions.com/showthread.php?p=1104
  24. Not everyone is CA is like this BTW... Yes, there are a fair number of Weirdo's like this (maybe a disproportionate share), but there are also a good number of people who think this is crap like everyone else. I whole heartedly support or Troops, regardless if I believe in the reasons they are in the places they are or not! While I won't even get into the politics of the state, since I'm in the minority on most of my views (and not a native Californian anyhow), it's important that people know that not everyone and every place in CA is like Berkley (Thank God!) :USAflag: I too thank anyone that has ever served to protect our country! SW2 The fact that they have a recruiting office in Berkeley proves your point (not everyone in California is like this). If everyone in Berkeley was like the City Council no one would enlist I used to be up on all the numbers of recruits California contributes to the cause, it used to be quite a bit. If ever there was a good reason to kick out recruiters it would have been twenty years ago when they closed nearly every Military installation in California (Alameda NAS, Mare Island, Hamilton, Oakland Army Depot, Concord Naval Weapons) I am not saying that would be right but at least I could understand why
  25. Had to chuckle on the Hillary socialized medicine thing, actually she wants to make health insurance mandatory like auto insurance is in many states. That would mean if you have no money in your wallet you would be nreaking the law if you didn't have health insurance. No thanks Hillary! In 2005-6 our corrupt politicians in washington passed the prescription drug reform act that included a clause that medicare bean counters can no longer negotiate the price of prescription medication sold to medicare recipients. My father in law is in a veterans home in Maryland and the cost of his medications is half the price of the same medication my parents get from medicare (way to go Government). Is Socialized medicibne the answer? probably not, but is the answer leave it the way it is now? In short I don't consider individuals that can't come up with a $1,000 a month for health coverage low-lifes or slummers many have good jobs, but can't pay the rent, buy groceries, pay their energy bills, car and insurance payments and fork out an extra $1000 a month for health care. Hopefully something can be done because sitting in the emergency room and watching the suffering here reminded me of the third world countries I lived in as a Navy brat (this should not be happening in the greatest country in the world).
