Brent, If you have the space you can do another windows OS install in a new directory then run the Avira. You could then save your mydocuments, and profile infromation to an external drive, the do the reformat and reinstall.

Same MJ new leak
jeepdoggydogB replied to ricksjeepster's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Great job, glad it ended that way. It is always the little things that distinguish a talented auto tech from an auto tech that delivers. I spent years trying to find the latter, and actually found one that doesn't forget to finish something because their boss has them on 3 projects simultaneously. Unfortunately to turn a profit many small garages out here hire one ace auto tech and two beginners and gives them three moderate jobs simultaneously :ack: . In that kind of environment things get broken that shouldn't (like in your case ) or simply overlooked. -
Spybot is also my tool of choice here, you might try a "system checkpoint restore" to a time before your system was infected then run spybot again. This should work for XP or Vista, if the Malware has not attacked your restore points also keep in mind that if you restore the system as it was a week ago and have installed software in that week it will need to be installed again.

Paycheck issues, memorial day. laws concerning?
jeepdoggydogB replied to JeepcoMJ's topic in The Pub
This is a terrible situation, and the only way to know exactly how much and when you are owed something I would need to see your company policies. For example there must be a written policy telling you that the cutoff is Tuesday with a "postmark" of Saturday in the A.M.. There also must be a policy somewhere that states "except holidays" and instructs you what to do like the timecard must be sent out Friday in the A.M., or that during a Monday Holiday that Wednesday is the cut off date. Absent these written policies I believe you are owed the hours. I would recommend in these employer dominated times, be polite, be gracious, and explain (without details) you have major obligations. If they could even cut you a check for the $320 or whatever your financial obligations require until your next pay check is issued. Most companies can easily process a hand drawn check and manually "dock" the check amount from your next check. Sometimes having the law on your side and being right isn't always good in the long run. If you need this job work with them, and if the are an outstanding company you will get all that is coming to you in a day, if thay are a fair company they will work with you to get your immediate obligations paid. Good luck! -
Service pack 3 no problems , now for IE 8 that is another story!

I think it would be worth going to your Bank and getting Statements for the last year and even paying a few bucks as you may have been getting short changed for a few months and when you add it up that isn't chump change anymore. If you bank online its all there for the reading. For simplicity sake we run two payrolls a month one regular and the other for overtime. Our per diem, mileage and meal allowances are paid out of petty cash or the accounts payable department and not subject to payroll taxes. You might want to verify with payroll that 172Xhourly rate X 12 months is actually your yearly pay and start from there. I know the Canadian tax system is different from the U.S. tax system so that might be the reason all your compensation is on one check. Good luck and I hope you get all the money that is coming to you.

Electronic deposits have really changed how folks bank. Many do not pay attention to their deposit or balance period. I am the IT guy over a financial/HR/payroll system with 6,000 employees and I can tell you the mistakes go both ways. We are paid monthly and we have people that didn't realize they got $1,500 more on their deposit than they should have, spent the money and then when the Payroll folks try to collect the money they have to do a repayment plan lasting up to a year. You are correct most of the errors are human involving timecard entry errors or incorrect deductions. We try to automate as much as possible but hourly folks always use a timesheet. Since you are a salaried employee sometimes the way a system calculates an FTE (full time employee) causes fluctuations in weekly or monthly paychecks. FTE's are calculated in a number of ways, daily, weekly, monthly or yearly. Our salaried FTE's are calculated on days worked in a year. We have folks that work 180 days a year and others that work anywhere between 180 and 228 days a year. Many payroll systems just take a years salary and divide it by the pay period e.g. $40,000/12 months or $40,000/52 weeks and if that is they your system works I find it difficult to believe that only one check is wrong. I am not familiar with Canadian laws, but here we have to get the money we owe you within 24 hours which would mean your Payroll department would give you a "hand drawn check" as soon as you make them aware. If you do not have a formal payroll department and the work is outsourced definitely tell your boss.

Can't tell me the the hot Vallejo sun beatin' down on that pretty black paint is good shipmate. Luckily I have a fairly large 2-car garage with a well-equipped doghouse above to escape into. It was the first thing I built when I bought this place . Of course the Commander's car is in there too, but I have the bigger side. :D It'll be nice when the two daughters finally leave for good, then I'll have some more room for another rig. One will be commissioned next fall (Army nurse); the other has three more years on her USAF scholarship. I spent a lot of time of your way with NAVELEX Vallejo, but didn't care for it - too many weird folks out there for my taste. I fit in better here in Redneck land. Cheaper here too. Don, Lots of freaks in Vallejo that is absolutely the truth, but I live in Glen Cove right next to Benicia (Kook free), but the sun is less frequent than the clouds around here. Congratulations to your daughters for their service. My wife and I are looking to retire to country that suits her Arabian horse fancy and well that will also support my stray Jeep fancy. In the mean time I am stuck here, with the smell of Admiral Farragut's Eucalyptus trees, and the smell of his bamboo shoots, and an ocean that beckons a seaman. If that sounds like the US Navy to you then you will know that's home whereever that might be. -

Thanks Alex, those are clear corners, but the only significant difference in my lift is the 3 inch Hellcreek metric tonne, it sits one inch higher than the front which are the RE 3.5 inch springs. Listen to the others on this board for this lift and don't forget to go with the YJ front brake lines, and the 95 Dakota rear break hose, and don't forget a good track bar. Spinnaker Blue is my absolute favorite color and with my blue/gray interior would have worked very well. Painting in all the required hard to get at places made it impossible for me to afford the Spinnaker blue option, but if i had bank I would have done that! -

Don, That used to be how it was, but now in the corner of the garage lives my wife's tanning bed, and her 1998 SL500 so there isn't anymore room for my Jeep. The upside to that is California weather is real good to outdoor vehicles, and because I am limited to one vehicle my wife knows not to complain about what I spend on the Comanche  the downside is many of us Californian's can't afford the land we need to collect Jeeps  . I can't tell you how many rust free jeeps I could have bought, but had no place to park them. The latest was a 1976 3/4 ton J20 4X4 with a 401 for $4,500 with perfect levi interior! From one old Navy guy to another you have to weigh out carefully where you decide to drop anchor and make a port your home. -
Wasn't there a Canadian outfit that made a vehicle called the FWD in WWII?

I had the same issues you are having with mine, no shadowed decals available, and my colors were limited because of costs. I opted for just the old style "Eliminator" on the bed, and retained the original color for cost considerations. -
wtd New leafs rear leaf springs
jeepdoggydogB replied to Str8OuttaBallard's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
so the Metric Tone makes it ride pretty stiff, yes? Stiffer than stock, right? I have the RE adj track bar and the only prob with that thing is that it wears out (track bar) bushings w/the stock 1/2" bolt... I didn't have access to an impact gun so drilling it out and putting the heavy duty bolt wasn't an option when that thing went out... (no holder on the nut for under the shock mount)... I got less than 6k mi out of the first RE track bar bushing... Actually the Metric Tonne springs do not ride as harsh as my 3 inch AAL's did, as for harsher than stock I would imagine they do ride more harsh. -

jeepdoggydogB replied to Str8OuttaBallard's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
I have the Hellcreek Metric Tonne 3 inch rear spring lift that I replaced my old tired AAL 3 inch lift. The ride is much better then the old springs, I run the OME ZJ long travel rear shocks. Up front I have the RE 3.5 inch springs and my rear sits about 1 inch higher than my front, according to BLHTAZ (Brent) has the same setup without the Metric Tonne rears and his lift sits about even. I love this lift, but don't forget to also invest in an adjustable track bar, RE makes a great track bar for the money. I didn't buy this lift to be budget, but depending on what you do with your truck I don't think you will be disappointed for the money. -

I agree with Corey, I would take that mechanic to court! I hand tightened mine when I replaced it, and the fact that he tried to hide it from you is unforgiveable. Maybe someone that welds or solders might have an opinion on how to fix this :dunno: -
I think the fact the wife  hates the MJ so much makes me love it all the more. :jump:

I guess the arb locked and armored 5.7 AEV Hemi Brute at $90,000 is a bargain compared to the $153,000 for the FJ43
-
I have been looking at the new Eaton electric locker that supplanted the Detroit electrac. I didn't see it in the list of choices. I also agree with the ARB as being highly desirable and durable.

Out where I live we are already seeing this, the Ford dealer here in Vallejo closed a few months back, that family had been in business for 60 years! Our Chrysler Jeep Dealer sold becuase the son of the original owner had health issues. Heck we bought our 1960 rambler wagon from his dad when it was an AMC dealer, hated to see that family leave. Where I work here in Concord, CA Fiztpatrick Chevrolet is closing after almost 70 years in the business. :(

X2 on the STT's they have lasted me over 30,000 miles in the nearly 3.5 years I have had them. The only issue I have had and have also read about them is they can be a difficult tire to balance. I have over 50 percent tread left in the rears and 30 percent tread left in the front, and I admit I haven't been good about rotating them (Only once in over 30,000 miles). I will buy them again and rotate more religiously but I am finding it is getting harder to buy such tires for 15 inch rims :fs1:
