  1. Mine are cupped. The dealer is aware of it and offed to prorate to a highway tire............I passed.
  2. Mine are loud, so loud that I'd chuck'em in the trash today if I could afford to replace them. They are not even 50% worn. (XJ) They will be replaced with Nitto. I have Nitto on my MJ now and they are a REALLLLL nice tire. Smooth and fairly quiet.
  3. Any 8" stock wheel will fit with 31s with no issue......no spacers........no lift.........notta. Aftermarket +30 will take you to stock position........best you'll find will likely be +20 (4.78" of backspacing vs 5.25) and that'll be fine. The difference between 31s and 30s is negligible. My Cooper AT3 31.s actually measure closer to 29" mounted and inflated. As for the speedo gear......I wouldn't bother. That is, of course, unless you were going to have your speedo calibrated.......after 25 years, it's off anyway.
  4. Go to a later model pump and you'll reduce the pressure, making it feel more normal.
  5. Same exact problem with the wife's 97. Airbag light bulb finally burned out about a month ago. I removed the tab from the horn so it can never be plugged back in, two weeks ago. Now I'm waiting on the check engine light bulb to burn out. Absolute POS. But it's a beautiful SE and runs better than any other we've owned........great Jeep. I'm still looking for her a '84 or '85......nothing like a Renix......and of course a classic.
  6. Everyone gets rear wheel hop under those circumstances. 4WD solves that problem.
  7. I don't think you are going to get it running without major expense. Some things just should not happen.
  8. You'll need to go through your wiring/cables.........bad grounds are generally the culprit.
  9. Autozone and the like carry the Chevy drop shackle....longer version. So, whatever years they fit will be the year and model you'll want for a stock shackle.
  10. http://knoxville.craigslist.org/cto/5050823454.html $9300
  11. $5K and hail damage........no thanks.
  12. Somewhere, sometime, there needs to be a sticky thread on springs. What is, what was, what should have been........is becoming a bore. Mike, The JKS shackles are good shackles, it is difficult for me to spend $100 on something of quality to just toss them aside. XJ shackles are still available and should work to lower it down for you. I posted already about the Moogs in the front, you'll have to decide for yourself. They will settle in the first 30 days, about 1 inch. The GS springs will offer you a firm ride, the Moogs will give you a very soft ride. The OMEs are very compatible with the GS springs. One thing you'll notice is that you can toss 500lbs in the back and not notice it a bit, ride will soften a bit but will have little effect on hight. Only reason I'm posting to you is this- You'll drop the front axle once or twice before you realize what a pain in the @$$ it is. If you really want to level it out, you'll have to guess at how many isolators to stack, wait to allow the Moogs to settle, do it again.....or maybe again. The OME with two Isolators will get you where you want to be.........first time. The JKS shackle can be mounted either way, one will give you 1" lift and the other will not. I personally like a VERY firm ride. The other components of the suspension will have a great effect too on how the truck handles and the quality of the ride, don't dismiss those in the process.
  13. ]Image Not Found You can hardly see in this pic but I cut down the tailgate and lengthened the trailer to accommodate the length of my tractor and mower. Essentially creating a dovetail. This changed the entire attitude of the trailer. Now when pulling empty I have to keep the tongue down or it gets all kind of squirrelly. Trailer is almost perfectly balanced. It doesn't take much to effect the way a trailer pulls.
  14. I'll share what I learned......keeping it out in the open...... Your zip code is a US addy........not international. Flat rate box is same as continental US.....so...... Say you bought 2 rotors, TREs, bushings, pitman arm....etc...... all in one large flat rate box to you for $17.95 or Adjustable uppers and lowers, disassembled to fit.......to you for $17.95 As for large boxes- Post Master had a small file box that weighted exactly 35lbs, measured approx 16x16x16, to your addy, $86. So, judging by that, a pair of coil springs may weigh half that.......let's assume approx $43 to you. 6x6x36, the size of a TB boxed, is considered over sized. If you were to buy a TB and have it shipped it may cost you $60 If you were to buy a drag link and have it shipped in the same sized box it may cost you $60 BUT! if you were to put both in one box it may cost you....say.....$80 (weight)...that will save you $40 on the two. If you buy and pack smartly........I think you can get shipping down to about $180 or so. LMK.
  15. I want the doors off that white SE.
  16. Really? Hyundai????? Who produces the engines?
  17. BTW........you're going to have to trust someone.
  18. I told you I would be willing to help. When you get serious..........before you order........get in touch with me. Post your area code....or however your location is identified through USPS and will check on shipping costs. Some can go flat rate but others, like TB......long box........will not. jeepmurphy@gmail.com

  20. now you know why we have what we have. I'm all for more organization, but there's no way I can find the time to attack it. :( and I have no interest in splitting it into a dozen more forums. but if they were all in a master thread, I can dig it. In the Pub you have a sub-forum entitled "popular". Create a sub-forum here and title it "pinned". As you pin a thread, simply move it to the Pinned sub-forum. Seams simple enough.
