  1. I am refering to the 88 electric diagrams. I could be a C214 connector. This is for the ingnition control module. But the wire color does not match. my 2¢
  2. Follow up/Conclusion The part came via UPS on Monday 12/23. I just installed it today. It seems to be working. The quality looks just like the old one I had to pull the steering wheel and loosen the column bolt to run the wire down column. Everything is back together. (Now I will see if that fixes my cruise controll)
  3. I am going to keep the old parts. Sorry.
  4. The top tach looks like the one I just swapped out of my '87. The lower one is the one I just put in (along with all the other gauges.) I don't know the year, however.
  5. Man, are you showing your age. I bet you know the diff between Fred & Ethal and Fred & Wilma. ;)
  6. http://comancheclub.com/topic/12083-electrical-manual/ Ask and you will receive.
  7. Welcome to the addiction. Here is a link to the 88 wiring. Download it to your computer and refer to it often. http://comancheclub.com/topic/12083-electrical-manual/ As for the squeal, check the harmonic balancer. Mine had a nasty squeal. I tried all the same things you have tried. My mechanic diagnosed the HB and replaced it. Squeal gone. Good luck.
  8. Thanks for the responce. The tcase is from a 90 XJ. It has the proper spline count. The 90 was equipped from Jeep with an AX15, so that issue is Moot. As for the flywheel, I have read on CC that the FW stays with the engine (Renix), since it controls the CPS. So, that issue is Moot. I am not swapping a manual to auto. So none of the electronics need to change (expect the back up light.) My question is: do I need to swap the clutch pressure plate and clutch disk. I already said I need to get a TO bearing and pilot bushing.
  9. Ok, I currently have the BA10/5 in an 87. I have sitting my garage an AX15 from a 98 XJ and a NP231 from a 90 XJ. I also have the master/slave/hydraulic-line/shift fork for the AX15. I will need the release bearing and pilot bushing (from a 74 CJ304). I just had a new pressure plate/clutch installed on the BA10. Will these work with the AX 15 or will I have to replace them?
  10. It will involve pulling the steering wheel. I know that. I read on Jeepforum where other have purchased from them. Most did not say anything bad. (One complained that they would not give a refund after a part that broke. It was a part of the axels that broke. They said that they could not verify the installation was done properly.) I will give them a try. Thanks.
  11. That's what I want to avoid. Unfortunately, it hard to even find non C R A P.
  12. Has anyone ever bought parts from here before? www.am-autoparts.com I found them while looking for a turn signal lever for my MJ. This is the part I found http://www.am-autoparts.com/1987/Jeep/Comanche/cruise-control-switches-and-levers/AM-42770069/486048.html The paddle that activates the washer broke. The plastic casing just spins around. It wouldn't be a problem on dry roads. But with melting snow and road salts, it makes seeing a problem. I found similar items at Morris and Teamcherokee for $75 to $80. This place has if for $20. Is it too good to be true?
  13. If it is the turn switch, did I mention you will need to get under the dash. Get a manual and some tools. I like Haynes more than Chiltons. But that is my opinion. Take your time. It is not hard. The puller can be rented/loaned from many autoparts stores. Pepboys does free loaner for pullers.
  14. Check and clean the ground wire under the driver's rear tail light. If that checks out, then check the turn signal switch. It is in the steering column, so you will need a puller to get it out. All the symptoms you described run through that switch.
  15. Lines crossed? One wire comes from the fuse box that is fed from the ingintion switch. When the key is "on" or "acc", you have radio. Another wire controls the dimmer on the radio (whether the radio dims or not). This comes from the head light switch. This is a hot line when the lights are on. Double check the wires.
  16. Blue XJ (with a green MJ), It is my understanding that when the BA10 was discontinued for the AX15 that the t-case was changed to a 23 spline. Of course, I have not gone out and counted the splines ;)
  17. I'm sorry. I should have been more clear. My MJ has on it currently the BA10/5 with the internal slave. I will swapt the AX15 w/ ext. slave for the BA10 (and the t-cases). The AX15 with the internal will go on the CJ.
  18. Next week I will be getting an AX15 from a 98 XJ. What else should I get with it? I ALREADY HAVE AN AX15 AND MATCHING T-CASE FROM A 90 XJ. SO, PLEASE DON'T LIST A T-CASE. This ax15 has the external slave cylinder. (the other ax15 is the internal) I have requested the master, slave, shift fork and bellhousing. Should I ask for the for the presure plale and clutch? pilot bearing? cross member (see below)? anything else? BTW - the extra ax15 will go on an 84 CJ to replace a T5. Will the cross member fit the CJ? or will the existing cross member on the CJ fit the ax15?
  19. These mirrors were factory options on this one. If you are considering changing your to this, just be aware that on the inside of the door skin is a brace running top to bottom to support the mirror. Otherwise, the door skin will flex from the wind pushing the mirror. The metal will fatigue and rip without the brace.
  20. I purchased the brackets for the MJ, about $40. This is what it looks like from underneith
  21. Left is driver's side, right is passenger's side. Just remember as you sit in the vehicle, facing forward, which side is you left and which is your right.
  22. The seats will swap over. You will need to keep the floor mounting brackets. They are not interchangable between MJ/XJ. You could recover the seats, but that won't fix the tilt. The JY is probably the best choice.
  23. The dreaded "internal slave cylinder" stikes again! Check the floor/ground under your MJ. You may find your fluid there.
