  2. well without further adieu here are some new pictures. The doors still need to be buffed out (again). and the entire bedsides need to be shot (again). but at least she is home. photobucket not co operating damn it
  3. thought about hitting a trail, driving up a phonepole or two, maybe a spin around the ice on the lake at Georgetown, or entering a tractor pull. But I was already running a bit late for work....but the day aint over yet.
  4. Sorry for the lack of photo but going to work and coming home in the dark is where we are at. (Will do what I can with my phone at lunch) Drove her to work this morning it was 12 degrees below zero according to the news when I went out to start it up at 4:30 AM. despite the fact that there is no weather stripping window seals mirrors door handles locks interior panels side marker lights or windshield wipers...or anyway to keep the heat in. I just could not help myself....
  5. Didn't say he finished it...just said she was liberated.. Details to come this evening.
  6. Yes hard to believe (and no I don't have any pictures to post yet). But I assure you all that I do actually own a Comanche and that it is no longer being held captive and is parked in front of my house. I drove her home last light in time for the arctic blast that came in last night. It was 8 degrees at dawn here in Denver the high for the day is predicted to be 10 degrees. I drove her home with no wipers mirrors door seals weatherstripping door handles locks etc etc just glad all the lights and signals were working. I would give my left nut for a garage. I will be driving My son Nathan's Cherokee till it warms up enough to run through all the stuff you check when you have one sit for a YEAR. Yes Balance has been restored to the universe. I will post pics on my build page tonight regardless of the weather when I get off work...
  7. Very well deserved sir. I have learned more from reading your posts than from the combined manuals (factory etc.) and books I have squirelled away. To re-state what others have said. I have never (on the internet or otherwise) seen someone so knowledgible share with such willingness the information at hand. Kudos to you sir and to your fine truck as well. You rock bud.
  8. If headers are in the future offering by edelbrock. It should be noted that Edelbrock no longer bends tubes nor fabricates headers of any kind. This work has been sold off by them and is being done offshore. The company I work for made their tube bending tooling for years untill they made the change a couple of years back. I do not know if they are marketing the aisian fabricated headers under the edelbrock name, all myprevious contacts there have all left for other bend shops (primarily carsound/magnaflow). Edelbrock's. Heads and intake manifolds which were always the core buisness is still being done in California however to my knowledge.
  9. Sounds well thought out to me man. Love checking in on your build. By the looks of it I would not have a chance keeping up with you on the trails...but man it's fun to think about it lol...
  10. Wow man your truck looks awesome! I am so jealous I can't see straight. Great paint job, and the color looks great on it. I wish you were closer, I would like a chance to see it in person (and get the painters name address and phone number...does he make house calls?). I can't wait to see the new rubber on her. Are you going to be using the same wheels? congratulations man you should be really proud. Bob
  11. I will be watching this build. I too really dig the utility bed for backcountry goodness. Kudos on a new twist. Buffalo B
  12. Coffee???
  13. yeah yeah yeah rub it in why doncha? you people with inside storage and garages.....yeah that.
  14. Damn Earl you got a Purdy truck. If mine had an A$$ that nice I would show it off too.
  15. This is really taking shape man...loving it. was wondering how you were going to deal with the rear window. Your solution is well thought out and well executed. I tip my hat to you sir. Bob
  16. Not this year I have already been on two extended road trips in the past 2 Months, and I am scheduled to work our booth at the Fabtech show in Chicago Nov 18- 21.
  17. Knew you would dig the pro comp X muds. For a very aggressive tread they are the quietest on the highway of any I have tried. I ran BFG muds for years and thought all agressive tread tires were loud and obnoxious on the highway untill I got these And your truck looks good btw I really dig the blue.
  18. very deserving owner and truck. as Jim said bringing one back from the dead has no comparison, it is by far the most rewarding experience/relationship a guy can have with a vehicle. Congratulations on a job very well done sir.
  19. Painter was taken to the emergency room last Sunday with extreme high fever. Has been diagnosed with a severe viral infection. Got nothing from him when I got back from Boston a week ago but I'm sick and will call you....yada yada heard that so many times before. Yeah I feel for the guy being sick etc etc but Christ it's always something. I will be putting him back in the hospital if I do not have the truck back sometime over the weekend. Greatly appreciate the concern and support and apologize for the ongoing suspense and drama.
  20. Incredible outstanding pictures. Absolutely gorgeous country. Your rig is truly one of a kind. My hat is off to you sir.
  21. Congatulations on the score Troy, I know that great things are in this longbed's future.
  22. I too am waiting...and NOT patiently either. Will keep you guys posted as I get info. Love the wheeling photos. The countryside and trails look great. I have not been in West Virginia in a coon's age. Lived in Virginia and Maryland when I was in Jr high and have only been back on work related trips. The trails look like a great mix of rocks and mud. I am so jealous I could pop. keep the pics coming, your rig looks great.
  23. Congrats on a simple workable solution. Love it when a good brain and a necessity collide and produce results that work.
