  1. Thanks for the input guys, why this is a ( big ) issue for me is the restraints we have on mods to our rigs over here. I can increase my wheel track 50mm / 2in thats allowed, but will be using some of that with my 8in rims depending on back spaceing. If i want to start to push the envelop the truck will have to be engineered, swirve test, brake test etc. Ching Ching $$$ And to go down that track ie Long Arms, Bushwackers 35's etc would be cool, but i,m not ready to do that to the only Comanche in Tasmania. Only 6 that i know of in OZ. I car'nt go down to the local JY and pick up a new bed lol, if i,v trimed it up to fit Bushwackers etc. front guards no problem. So this is where I'm at, D 60 rear 63.5 wms-wms i can get away with that and keep the wheels inside the guards. Front D 44 60.5 wms-wms and keep the wheels inside the guards. But tempeted to regerister the Comanche with the original axles, and then swap in the 63.5 44/60 Hybird :brows:
  2. I am currently working on options for my front and rear axle assembly. I can get a front 44/60 Hybrid ( Dynatrac ) Which has a WMS of 63.5in as opposed to the 60.5in standard width. I want to run 16 x 8 rim, 32-33in tyres with 4-5in lift and i really want to keep the original 99+ fender flares Can this be done, what back spacing would i need, any clues on what the wheel track would be. The reason i have asked the question is i believe when fitting locking hubs to a D44 it also increases the WMS so someone may have done what i am asking. The rear axle D 60 can come in 63.5 or 60.5in which is'nt a problem as wheel spacers are often used to push the rear wheels out. But i don't want to run different back spacing on the front and rear rims I can run a D 44 standard width in the front but i do like the 35 spline axles in the 44/60 Hybrid Thanks for any help advance
  3. Very nice, that will be my next import
  4. D for DRIVE all the way
  5. Thanks for your reply. Some great info, my 9in curiosity is now cured back on track with D44 front & rear
  6. Well ya brought a xj Hmmmm...... The last coupla weeks i,v been working on what to do with diffs and front end bracing. So i was qiute stocked when i seen you XJ post. The question has been answered in regards to steering box, thanks for posting the link. Is the track bar brace from the same supplier ? As for the diffs, Talked to Currie quite a while ago about building me D44 front & rear, they suggested a 9in for the rear which i felt a little funky about as the D44 is such a iconic diff for the MJ. But now ya got me second guess me self. If i was to do the rear 9in would also do the front. So whats your opinon on these units, whats the clearance like sump to pumpkin ? Enjoy the xj with Kate and the kids, i,m sure this will turn into a full on buid weld in sliders etc
  7. Cool build looks good X2 on the tail light install
  8. Like the rear bumper with the hidden reciever, cool
  9. I might be wrong, but me thinking Gojeep did have wiper issues. Wouldn't have thought they were produced for the Aussie XJ market as there would only be a hand full in the country if that. IMHO I think the Reflexxion cowl hood is the bee knees and would give a kidney, me left nut or me first born to have one sitting on my Comanche
  10. Might need a bigger sleeper :brows:
  11. Looks great dude, what's the b/s on those rims?
  12. Ok it's time to throw it out there again. WANTED Reflexxion steel cowl hood. Any info/leads would be great. Thanks............
  13. Urrrrrrrrrrrrrr Fiberglass not for me.
  14. Some how i don't think Gojeep would be into pulling parts of his fine XJ
  15. PM sent 87sparTtuck hope you can help with details, Thanks
  16. Yes, did the same thing by limiting the travel of the Redline struts. Still didn't open far enough for me. Found it more convenient to just pop off the wiper arm. If ya ever get sick of poping that wiper arm off. there's a loving home waiting for that hood.................
  17. British Raceing Green would look cool
  18. Do you have a link to this fine looking build
  19. Yep 3.0 CRD = HEAPS of torque + awesome economy
  20. Noice, looking Gooood !!!
  21. What ever you get, you will play with you know you won't be able to help yourself lol. So why not XJ = compact, with LS1 conversion
  22. Awesome bed sliders great tie down points, love your fab skills and ideas.
  23. Do ARB or Safari make one for the XJ/MJ ???
