Who can ID these parts?
Kenosha Warrior replied to gildo's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
228 has a viscous coupler, does it not? (Eagle/DirtyManche?) Autobox is a 3spd 904 Chrysler, or 999? Should be a 904. -
Dude from raleigh called in tonite, simple issued, spotted his ticket # and found it slightly ironic :) http://img260.imageshack.us/my.php?imag ... ickuc4.png

I'm about 30 miles north of Lake Ontario. so about an hour north of Oswego. They're forecasting 20" of snow and I say bring it on! I love it, so does the MJ.

No, no, no. Either you misread me or I'm misreading you. I don't buy the cheapest. I buy the next step up (or whatever is above than the Fram if the store I'm in happens to sell them). But I have no problems dumping in the cheapest oil I can find (every 2k miles). :D Diesel motor oil for me. free from my dad's workplace.

You ever call RoadRunner tech support and get an aswer of 'thanks for calling (the) roadrunner(s) national helpdesk, this is colton, how may I help you?' rest easy as its me, a fellow jeeper :D (I work for TWC at a call centre here in Canada) That's cool. Fortunately, I have not had to call for help since we got it over 5 years ago now :D . The only thing I have had trouble with was a modem that went bad. I know of some rep's from the tampa centres that take the fux0red modems and go skeet shooting.

cj7 is the last CJ jeep. CJ 8 is a crossbreed between a J-truck and CJ. = CJ with a bed. the CJ7 is a 'jeep jeep' the jeep everyone knows.

VIN questions
Kenosha Warrior replied to Kenosha Warrior's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
ah, ok. Thanks Eagle. -
ok, my mj's VIN is as follows 1j7ft26e4kl623622 using Rob L's vin decoder on his website. It matches something in the list until I get to the '7' in my VIN. there is no '7' option, its a letter, not a number. There is no 'F' option for engines, T option gives me an AW-4 floor shift, Slectrac t-case, Body type reads as 26 (its a 6x number) the E option for payload package doesn't exist and for plant location I get an L. I have a K for the year. truck specs are in my sig. Id appreciate whats going on haha.

last time I was in Ottawa, I went out to a friend's place and we wheeled the snot out of his old YJ, then drank then wandered downtown ottawa loaded to the sky. I relived myself on the main building of federal parliament without realizing it, until after.:) but stopped and saluted the war memorials, as I'm from a military bkgrnd

guys, its a 4.0L. look at the valve cover. waaay to long to be a 2.5L. The evident closed cooling system bottle on the pass. side engine bay too.

wait, pete, you mention dry wipers over glass. Ive got a little tab on my MJ that you push for the washer fluid, the wiper controls are on the same stalk but seperate.

Electrical Weirdness
Kenosha Warrior replied to Kenosha Warrior's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
I have a faint idea it was made a law for vehicles in 1988. I know that no other MJ here in town (86 to 91) has DRL's. Even the Cherokee's in town have no DRL's. its odd. I'm going to have to look up the law. -
Just spent 15 mins with a hammer and long flat screwdriver hacking salt-filled snow off my MJ. A lil' love never hurts, as Ive got original rockers and I'm in Ontario haha

Kenosha Warrior replied to ekulrenlig's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
go plug the heater in, get a bottle of gasline Antifreeze and a gallon or two of gas. That should do it, maybe a few oz's of gas in the TB -
must just be a quirk. I'm logged in at home on 3 pc's and on at work 24/7 so something may have went weird, its all good now.

Electrical Weirdness
Kenosha Warrior replied to Kenosha Warrior's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
not so fast, m'friend. no DRLs. Ive got parklights and headlights but no DRL's. Its just weird. There's a remote starter module hacked in there too. I haven't had any more problems. Drying everything out did wonders, had all my lights and such thismorning when I drove to work at 6am. I just went out to start it to make sure everything was still good, cranked and ran nice, idled fine. couldn't tell about the headlights tho 8) -

Id kill for a running J-truck. A friend has a Honcho with the 258 and a 4spd. I want it so bad it hurts. NICE! the big J10 is a sweet lookin' rig. Same with the j-4k -
Gone out the bloody window! I post in a thread, I'm still logged in and it shows the orange icon as a new post, I read my *just* posted message and its still showing new post. Entire board is nice and orangy haha.

Changed the grill today...
Kenosha Warrior replied to BLHTAZ's topic in Member Projects: Your Comanches
Mines upside down because I zip-tied driving lights to it, the wrong damn way haha, the way it should normally sit, they point upwards so I flipped it overso the lights point downwards. -
Electrical Weirdness

aemsee, yes I sure do haha. relay centre being chock full of water does odd things, thanks to snow. Sorted out for now, Ive gotta take a page from Pete's book and encase my relays with a tupperare container. Right now Ive got cardboard jammed over the battery, relays, infront of the battery blocking the hole where the snow has entered. -
I went out to my MJ. I had 2ft of snow on the hood. And unplowed roads as I'm driving home + grille, holey old header panel and no cover on the relay's = funky-@$$ electronics as I made my crawl home. heat-dryed all the connectors out overnight and for good measure, plugged in the block heater. Cranked and started like a dream thismorning, I need gas tho haha. a foot and change worth of snow over the day yesterday here. Ive got the fron'a the MJ jammed full of cardboard with a hole cut in the centre of the piece that covers the rad. jeeeeze.
-
Ok, so we got a foot of snow, blowing, while the mj was parked at work. It blew into the rad, engine bay, ect. While driving home, I noticed that sometimes my radio display would either dim or go completely out. I got home, parked it. All the snow in the engine bay melted, including what snow was on my relay centre. so, as I'm sitting there, keys in the off position, trans in reverse and clutch shoved all the way in. I head a loud click, like the hazard flasher, the headlights and dashlights and heat console lights turned on. 3 seconds later, I heard the click again and the lights went off. I heat-dryed out all my connections, plugged in the block heater and blocked all holes that let snow in with cardboard. The last time this happened, I was having issues with my alternator, it was raining really hard and my alternator went south, it was all weird.
