wtf. What day did you send them man? I even asked my damn mailman to keep an eye on my mail for something from Pete M or Comanche Club. How did you send them? I wonder if they even made it across the border. -
jeeze man, my tired old 2.5'er and the 4spd will do at least 0-60 in 20 sec. Thats with 205's.
-
Nope. If you're going to swap the engine, the trannies will not swap. the 5spd that is attached to the 6cyl MUST got with the 6cyl only. 2.8 and 2.5 are 60 degree bell housings and the 6cyl is not.

the AMC equivalent of the D44. Pretty ballsy axle.

fsking ice on the roads. I thought it warmed up. Nope. caught a small ridge of ice and slammed a guard rail @75kmh bent the snot out of my bumper, filled my tire with wood, ect.
-
this thread jinxed me. we just finished a particularly nasty storm, mainly freezing rain which made the roads worthless. it warmed up so I went to a friends house, and as I was going around a corner I started to slid and slammed into the wooden guard rail. Got out ok, but I had to make an emergency pit-stop at my mechanic's so he could get all the wood out of my tires, the wooden stakes left some nice chunks between my rim and tire, didn't affect the tires though. A quick reseal and balance got me on my way again, $30. Now my bumper is twisted under the bed on the passenger side and flared out on the drivers side. pics to come later today

Gearing on a 2.8 auto
Kenosha Warrior replied to Landoloops's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
already stated that it is not the amc20. Alex Oiz was talking about what razrwild said. His buddy with a 3.52 geared rear end. -

maybe not a weak slave so much as someone playing with the clutch and bearings. Maybe the throwout bearing doesn't have enough range of travel? -
I put an '84 XJ 10-slott'er on my MJ. Fits ok.
-
How would one go about doing that? The PO says the NP231 case won't go into 4x4 but I'm not thinking so. How would I check to see if the T-case engages 4hi and 4lo. lop the case into 4hi/lo and put the front end on jackstands and turn the wheel and see if the front shaft turns? I'm thinking it may just be the vac disconnect? He says it worked when he got the jeep in '1998 and recently it stopped working. I'm going to go take a good look at it and test drive it tomorrow. Anything I should look for taht would scream problems (mechanically)?
-
Needs the t-case linkage adjusted too. handle in 4lo = tcase in neutral I'm still trying to think of what to do with the MJ. The cherokee is in better mechanical shape, so I may store it for the Winter. $15/mo to store it outside. Drive the chero as a Daily driver and put the MJ under the knife after I plate the cherokee.

Alrighty whats wrong with it: pass. rockers are toast, same with behind Pass. rear wheel. Around the flares are ok Door handles are a bit rusty, no rot though. Floors are still there, surface rusty but good to go. Purple Interior. The 3 spoke Jeep str wheel. Its green exterior, the hatch doesn't lock but latches, manual windows and locks, purrs like a kitten. I gotta email the guy. he works with me and there's another guy after it, Larry probably will let me take it though, because the other dude has ruined more vehicles in the term of his lease at Larry's building than most people own in 20 years.

Ok, hot tip. a 4.0L 88 XJ Pioneer. Rough body but the drivetrain is beautiful. I can get it for $200. Worth it or not? Its a complete truck, def. not for parts alone. It runs, drives, interior is spotless. I can turn it into a nice DD and keep the manche for fun OR yank the driveline and make a nice 4x4 Manche. Either or, is this a good buy or not?
-
Overnight it leaked about a spoonfull. It just started happening, just went out and looked at it and the lower rad hose is dribbling, right where it connects to the block. Yipee. Probably going to have to do the thermostat too while I'm at it.

How to weld a rear end
Kenosha Warrior replied to Kenosha Warrior's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
how far do you have to take the diff apart. Novice's doing this (not the welding, I'm pretty good at that)
