i got a pretty decent 2.5 ton jack from costco. it has a low profile which is good for my car and lifts around 20-24" at max stroke, i don't rember the exact heigth. it was $90 and i think when u buy stuff from costco, if it breaks/stops workin, take it back with the recipte and the swap it out

Fuel Sender with Pump
cody4359 replied to SchneiderFishing's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
I'm confused, you swaped a 4.0 fuel pump into a 2.5 tank/sending unit. the 4.0 pump was an inch shorter than the 2.5 pump but fit fine (i under stand that) but then you wrote could you clairafy :dunno: -
Looking for driveshaft lengths of stock trucks
cody4359 replied to Pete M's topic in MJ Tech: DIY Projects and Write-Ups
from what i saw in the previouse pages, the driveshaft specs were for stock height mj's? can we get a lifted chart going or with the longer wheel base than xj's do i need to not worry about SYE and length? -
would there be any interest in CC apparel, like a hoodie and hat? i think it would be cool to have the Comanche Club on it with maybe either a pre 96 grill or post 97??? maybe chapers like the pacafic northwest or so? i wouldnt be doing it, maybe an idea for pete or somebody else on here?

well i went to the junk yard and got 97+ door seals for the mj, also got ANOTHER 97+ header panel, the total os 4, time to put one or to on ebay

no they won't part it out, and doubt it gets 20 mpg in the city http://seattle.craigslist.org/kit/pts/2149188865.html

NP 231 T-case linkage bushings
cody4359 replied to 1987Comanche's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
you can also adjust the linkage. take off the plastic cover below the tcase hande. i believe there is supose to be .125 (1/8") from the handle to the stop/bracket when its engaged in 4lo. in your hayes manual it tells you how to do it. -

you sure thoes welds are going to hold that winch on when you put a load on it? -
just got my calendar today, one or 2 cell phone pics so a lil unclear (I'm picky) but i like it. maybe next year add in a few specs like motor/ drivetrain, tire size/gears and length of build???? just a suggestion. anyways ive looked online for a xj only calander before and never found one, great job. don't know where your having them made but costco makes personal calanders if u wanted to compare $$$

what lift/size tires you have on it? looks good

a clip from 4wheel & offroad "canadian company HPA Motorsportshas developed a conversion kit that drops a 1.9 vw turbo diesel into a yj. tj kit in the works. after tuning ecu with power flafsh, HPA claims the diesel will put out 190 hp and 289 ft lb tq and will get 40-47 mpg" in the yj they were usin the ax5. I'm sure for the right $$ or just time and fabbing it could be done in a mj. also i think extreme 4x4 on spike tv did a vw diesel swap into a sammy. when u get ready to swap the motor out ill take your 4.0 fuel pump/sender off your hands :waving:
-
I'm in the middle of that too (buckets, tilt ect). I'm thinkin since I'm doin buckets and center consle ill turn the foot e-brake into a hand ebrake with xj parts. havent looked into it but i doubt it would be difficult.

Fuel Sender with Pump
cody4359 replied to SchneiderFishing's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
:hijack: this is an old one so ill do it. I'm trying to understand this, and wondering if its a case by case scenerio or sumthing, as in are the sending unit the same between short bed/long bed, and from the 2.5 to 4.0?? I'm sure the pumps are different from 2.5 to 4.0. from what i understand no new mj senders are avaliable. i am doing a 96 xj 4.0 swap into my 89 mj that has a 2.5, its a swb. i have pulled the pump/sender from the xj, but not the mj yet. does anybody have pictures of how they modified/configured a cherokee pump/sender to fit in the mj tank with the baffle? or will my 4.0 pump swap onto the 2.5 sender? -
ctrl alt del, and alt tab are as far as i go lol

i just took a chisle/wedge to it and bent it back and forth til it broke the spot welds. here's a small bit of info http://www.comancheclub.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=27753 edit: here's a few more pics this was a waste of time to do, still havent gotten around to spot weldin it back together 96- cherokee door, pretty sure same as mj after welding up old holes and made new, kinda ugly cause i reamed the holes a bit but u get the idea. i made the holes a little bigger so i could adjust where it sits.
