  1. are you goin to be running the 3sp od tranny? if not which one?
  2. looking good  thoes sand blasters are very nice to have. the media by itself isnt too awful expensive but my neightbor looked around and got sum and an industrial store that had been used once and was already sifted for $5 a 40lb (i think 40lb maybe only 20) bag.
  3. what causes the "orange peel' texture? ive always wanted a 70's vanagon, what motor does yours have?
  4. is this technical?? lol just browse some rigs on the web and u should get an idea
  5. thatd be a entertaining trinket to have laying around lol
  6. so the seat mounting to the tracks changed in 95 or am i misreading? edit: tried making the seat from my 96 fit on the mj brackets. no luck, finally went to the wrecking yard and looked at earlier seats. wish i woulda known they were different before having the headache of wondering why i couldnt do it even with a few write-ups telling me how. musta been speed reading
  7. id like to see a few snap shots. also ive read somewhere there is 4 or 5 jeep rental places down there goin stock to like 33 and locked f/r from 150-250 a day.
  8. how are the rodeo 44s in comparison the a 29 spline 8.25, is there much aftermarket support in lockers?
  9. nice score. will you have to move the sway bar ahead to keep the ends from hitting the coils?
  10. Nice :clapping: after a little more research i think I'm goin to do a metal kit garage. got another quote for a 24x36x10 metal kit with 16x8 door and 2 man doors for $9500 shipped, getting another quote for a 30x36. id have to do the slab and erect the shop but thats still better than the +18K from the other guy. still need to do more research, maybe go to Lowes and have them draw me up some plans and get a quote on lumber so i can find the best deal.
  11. everyone has opnions and IMHO the benefits would be true cold air, raised intake height, stealth-ish, and getting rid of the air cleaner box making the engine compartment just a little cleaner. and for the noise i hear its only a little noisy during startup then it dies down, but there is such a thing as dynamat that counteracts such noises of exhaust and mud tires etc etc :D anyways cheap is good, nice score
  12. thanks for the offer but i think ill pass
  13. well I'm tired of workin in a old garage with dirt floors and a leaky rook. got a quote today from an old family friend that works for a gargae company and without concrete work itll be around 17-18k for a 24x34, 18-19k for a 26x34. have to go look into concrete now and see what kind of deal i can make and who i know that does it
  14. i like the truck, but why the snorkel? ive seen a write up elsewhere where the drilled a 3" in the wiper cowl area on the passanger side and put a cone filter in. raises the intake height and draws in cold air without being visible from the exterior. yhat stance on your truck is sweet, looks like it would rub without extened bump stops??
  15. Is a 2wd spring pack likely to give less lift? and i have the rocky road drop brackets on my xj and was not too fond of the fitment. where the 2 brackets joined there was a large gap that needed shims to be made so i couldnt see daylight between the pieces, and if i recall shipping took quite a while to get to me
  16. dude, thoes are REALLY ghey
  17. i love that guys response, just plain awsome!
  18. thanks id appreciate that. even if i already have a set itd be nice to have a backup for the next project
  19. maybe look into gettin a j/y driveshaft for $15-20 then just put u joints in it????
  20. possibly a dumb question cause it states this is for a 91-92 HO, but i have to ask. from what ive been seein is that when i complete my 96 xj 4.0 and wiring swap into my 89 org 2.5 mj, my fuel guage will reard backwards. no will reversing that wire on my 89 sender correct my problem?
  21. I'm looking for bucket seat brackets for my mj. no mj's in j/y around me :( brackets themself shouldnt be much to ship with ups priority boxes. if it fits it ships. anyone help me out?
  22. ["utah_redneck"]Your old stock fuel pump will work just fine. The fuel pressure output is going to be the same. If you are upgrading the motor to an H.O. the differences are the head (valve size), exh./int. ports are larger on the H.O., throttle body size, fuel injectors are larger. Because this stuff is bigger it really means more EFFIECENCY and some power increase. 95 and 96 4.0 pumps have the same specs which are not the same as as the 4.0 mj, but some what close I'm slowly in the middle of swapping in a 96 xj 4.0 into my previously 2.5 89 mj. according to autozone website the spec for the fuel pumps are: 89 4.0 mj/4.0 96 xj max free flow (GPH) 45/55 max pres range (PSI) 110/100 min free flow (GPH) 45/40 min pres range (PSI) 90/70 i have my xj pump mocked up in the mj sending unit bracket, it fits differently but will work if need be. now the 2.5 and the 4.0 MJ pumps have the same shape desing and would require no mods to fit the bracket. my question is does anybody know if the differences in pumps are big enough to affect performance/reliability or should i just run the with the xj pump and make it work? sorry. had the number lined up in the msg but when it post's it moves them over
  23. i have 2 29 spline 8.25, and went to pull apart and yanked the disk brakes outta a grand cherokee for them, i just don't like how there isnt many options for lockers/selectable and was curiouse. thanks guys
  24. I'm curiouse as of why there arent more grand cherokee dana 44 swaps? they already have disk brakes and if your doing a SOA you have to weld on perches anyway.
