  1. well i have been on here for a while so i might as well introduce myself. I'm cody, i have an 88 mj that i started to swap everything from my 96 xj into, then a 97 grand cherokee i got for a beater but never take it out, and just recently bought a 87 mj with a 2000 drivetrain and dash along with some other goodies. kinda losing interest in swapping the other mj now lol
  2. that's awesome. i assume your puttiing the dana 44's and 35" tires under the comanche lol
  3. it's coming along nice. mine has 35"s and 4.10's. its not completley guttless but ill like it better when i go down to 33's. and whats this clayton package you speak of

    Polshed Rim

i havent done it but i use to live out in the sticks, and the rumor was to keep your polished wheels looking highly polished the log truck drivers would get a cloth polish wheel, but insead of using polishing compound they would use flour. i have a set of aluminum wheels i might just try that on now.
  6. looking good, how do you like thoes tires? and how are they for road noise/handling?
  7. haha nice photoshop work :) congrats on keeping it on the back burner for so long and finally starting to get it up to date
  8. looking for smaller tires now so i can drive to the vancouver jeep show. firewall gaps are filled with expandafoam  wiring in the dual fans is a mess and there is a big connector with nothing going to it, door checks are all screwed up and has stock 2000 xj tank mounted where spare tire use to be and a small hole cut in bed to fill. but its big and has been getting alot of looks cruising around town. in the next day or so ill take some pictures and start a thread so this won't be in the pub
  9. not going to be a fun drive tho, over 55 mph it has a nice wobble from the worn tires
  10. yep i should be there. i might try meeting up with H3resq and set 89 in olympia.
  11. what makes you think i wasnt talking about you.... d-bag is a d-bag regardless of age or brains. he asked a simple question.
  12. you running 50/50 mix or what? redline makes a coolant additive that depending on you mix supposedly cools up to 20*. http://www.redlineoil.com/Products.aspx?pcid=10 straight water boils at 220*, the antifreeze mix raises the BOILING point from 220 to like 230 or higher, depending on the concentration.
  13. sounds like you have your work cut out for you, hurry up on the pictures
  14. hmmm seems like CC is getting a few D-bags on here now (talking about the 2 old farts).... i havent put a bigger radiator in, but i flushed my cooling system, and installed hood vents and i never had a problem. i think prestone is what i used and i put it and and drove about 300-400 mi i think before i flushed it out. do you have a eletric fan also?
  15. lol ya you kinda put a damper on the suspense haha from a distance it looks good, few things I'm going to change but it runs, drives and stops so its alot further along than my other project. going to do 33"s instead of the 35s and lower it an inch or so after that. overall I'm pretty excited. hopefully it wasnt on there for months for a reason haha
  16. $330 in fuel later, traveling about 540 mi round trip and 14 hrs due to getting side tracked i got the new toy home. intial excitment made me over look a few things that werent done right, i got a good deal. almost 5 hrs later and we were headed back home my chauffeur for the day making a pit stop yes..... I'm easily entertained finally back home
  17. thru the fuzzy letters it took me a min to get it, haha :jump:
  18. swapping dashes and keeping orignal vin is fine, swapping dashes and leaving new dash vin is ok but a pain. like was stated earlier, vin tag in engine compartment also to go off from
  19. if i get the new mj this weekend ill be going
  20. have a buddy turn the steering wheel back and forth with the truck off, then you look under the truck. if you see a tierod end etc moving, check to see if it loose, if not replace. and as far as rocky road, i bought the DB's for the xj 2 a year ago, shipping was 2 weeks, fitment of the backing brace was so-so. about a month ago i ordered for the mj, 3 weeks later and they said one week til they were made. i cancled my order, sent a few emails back and forth to glen stating my dissappointment and he offered a 20% discount if i re-instated my order, and also explaing what took so long. so for $250 before discount shipped, kinda hard to complain about price, and the xj flexed pretty good with the DB's and rode a bit smoother for the track bar i did Iron Rock Offroad double shear. it was more than $100, but no binding, and cheap/easy if ever it needed to be rebuilt.
