2 door XJ flares work on MJ's. if you watch this video, it explains the trimming and how the rubber seal protects the paint and hides little gaps made from trimming. tho $20 a tj flare may appeal to some, IMO they look like ARSE and i will take a ticket for inadequate tire coverage then make my rig tacky by being cheap :peek:

Hey Cody, The amount of trimming required is about the same as the XJ. So, attached is a copy of the Installation Guide. It is not MJ specific but will give a good idea of the amount of trimming. You can also look at this online installation write up by BC4x4.com: Project Expedition XJ The actual fit of the fender flares to the Jeep is not 100% fine tuned at this point which means that it will take a bit of extra work to trim the fender flares to fit your MJ. With the age of our Jeeps, and the abuse they've seen, it's hard to get a perfect fit. they're photo album

X2 :agree: i like these better than bushwackers, not as wide. still a bit to much tire coverage for my setup tho. http://www.napierprecisionproducts.com/ ... -B-2DR.htm

H3RESQ's Dream MJ, the build continues...
cody4359 replied to H3RESQ's topic in Member Projects: Your Comanches
looks like the back could be raised an inch or two :hmm: other than thst its looking good -
:rotf: it blew down and the next week i was taking off for a outta state job, the neighbor fixed it. now if only the neighbor in the back would fix that end. one day ill get the other neighbor to take his beaters from my back yard, but he owns a paint booth and i get to use it and him for free whenever i want. one week of holding onto the rigs has turned into about 13 months

the mj has been down a while and now I'm getting tired of rust and unibodys. a new extended cab ranger has been going thru my head such as this 5.0 converted one for sale by me. the step side is in florida, but just sweet. unfortunatley did a bit of research and these supid things have rust issues, maybe worse than a comanche. such as rocker, cab corners, doors, and firewall to floor seam. found a 2001 that already had rocker and door rust. so now a 98+ S10 is the new idea. havent found much for rust issues other than cab corners. would want to SAS it down the road , and i want a extended cab step side. probly just a pipe dream tho, would still have to finish the mj and sell it or my car. I'm just ready for a frame and more room :peek:

X2... i was between the Hellas and IPF, looked at numerouse threads and chose the IPF. i belive Hella and IPF have about the same thickness in glass and very similar light cutoff, where the autopals etc had a bit thinner. Stock low IPF/silverstar low (adjusted the lights later and that improved hwy driving) IPF/silverstar high

downsouthmotorsports.com has a good deal on a few bilsteins. once mine is back on the road I'm upgrading to fox 2.0 resivors. was going between bilstein 7100 and fox 2.0, downsouth sold me on the foxes for ease of rebuild/tune and part avalibility. i went from procomps to bilstein 5125 up front and there was a noticiable difference, i just want to be able to dial my shock in for the perfect ride so no more cheapos

do you have a write up on making the 4 door seats flip forward? ive looked for older seats and never really found anything -
ive been looking into them for sorta a progressive bump stop. i believe they are tj rears, and firestone makes them. contact them and tell them what coils (lifted or not) and I'm sure they can set you in the right direction

Bright sealed beam headlights?
cody4359 replied to Eagle's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
page 9 on viewtopic.php?f=7&t=31364&p=355318#p355318 has the IPF headlights i put in with just 55/60 antidisestablishmentarianism silverstars. the light cutoff is great, just thinking of upgrading the harness and maybe a bit brighter bulb down the road. once i adjusted them better the lighting was improved. got a decent deal from Rob at 4wd.com, if you get set up for the Comanche Clud discount you get like 10% off and at the end of the year they cut a check to Pete. -
ive been thinking alot lately. now i want to fix up the mj, so i can drive out in the boonies to look for abandoned puppies and kitty cats. if you feal like donating to the cause, pm me and ill give you the details.

Dana 35 width question
cody4359 replied to jamespwsullivan's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
a rough measurment of the mj 44 i have is 60 1/2" WMS to WMS with the drums off. i also have a 8.8 that came with my mj, guy didnt have spacers on it so the 35x12.50 tires would rub the rail from time to time. put some 1.25" spacers on and fixed the problem, just had to trim the wheel studs becuase i didnt get the 1.5" spacer. everybopdy has their own opnion, but i would prefer a 8.8 over a 44. they are alot cheaper and easier to come but, and according to my randys ring and pinion axle book they are a little stronger in about every way, down side is the pumpkin is bigger so a little loss in ground clearance there. -
