  1. I debated over the DB or the RK longarm...the only reason i went with the DB is b/c i got them cheap and already had all the other necc components such as RK HD track bar, RE UCA, ADJ LCA etc....I plan on fabbing up my own braces to help with the DB just b/c i can, don't feel that i need them but might as well... Eventually i will go with the RK Long-arm from my local vendor here...cheaper installed than anyone ive gotten a quote from....and the DB w/XJ braces with endup going on my XJ or for sale... If you can find a set cheaper than new i would do it...Its going to be cheaper to do the DB either way just b/c they are $250-300 depending on where you find them the longarm kit will cost $400-500 before install...if you don't have a welder or know someone who can weld then you will have to pay to have that done also...OK I'm done talking now
  2. Very Very nice
  3. 205,500 on my 87 Chief 4x4...new motor @ 178K and new trans @ 195K
  4. the yellow one is the cruise control box...my 90XJ has it (doesnt work) but that one should go behind the knee panel on the Drivers side...the other appears to be the TCU (tranny computer)
  5. id do it if i had the spare cash...take a look and nit-pic through it b4 you make a decision on it
  6. i have a buddy who bought the RK steering kit and he is not happy with the passenger side mounting...it hangs down and he catches it on things all the time...i personally will be going with the Motion Offroad setup when i save up some money
  7. u can just buy the SOA kit from them and then piece the front together probably for cheaper http://www.rocky-road.com/comanche.html thats the webpage for just their SOA set up if you can't weld
  8. nah i have been to lazy to do it....was going to start monday after my buddies brake job but the rain came so i put it off...LOL...there ready to go in tho..all clean and shiny again
  9. mine looked like that after they shorted the starter relay out...i replaced them and put some wire-loom protector over them both
  10. The BA 10/5 is not a terrible tranny as everyone makes it out to be...mine lasted 200K hard miles b4 the syncro for 1st and 2nd crapped out...it was due to a leak that i never fixed...i had mine rebuilt just b/c i didnt have the the time or money to locate and install another trans, i run synthetic fluid in mine and it shifts great with no problems anymore...but if your dead set on a swap i would also reccomend the AX15...much cheaper to rebuild and has the external slave
  11. great job...when i shipped mine i just taped the hinges on and took it to the fedex and they slapped a sticker on it and shipped it....same with the bumper i shipped :D

    oh deer?

my dad just hit a deer last Sat morning near Wickenburg at about 6a...it jumped out in front of him and he had no time to stop...smashed RF fender, bumper, grill, radiator, trans cooler and hood...fortunantly didnt go through the windshield or set off the airbags....truck is at the shop now getting all the body work done
  13. no matter what you do if you plan on using an XJ axle in the MJ you have to relocate the spring perches
  14. really you didnt like yours....what didnt you like about them...I love mine...when in great and my MPG had an increase plus a smoother idle and acceleration :D
  15. i picked up a set of 5.0 19LB injectors that were refurb'd with new caps and seals for $60 shipped off ebay...
  16. I work at a tire shop and can tell you first hand that i get extremely pissed when people use fix-a-flat or SLIME....THE CRAP DOES NOT WORK...all it does it makes a mess when you pop the bead off and gets all over the place..sometimes we won't even fix the tire b/c of that stuff :headpop:
  17. well i did some more tests...i re-adjusted the TPS to the specified .8 volts at idle and checked for any dead spots throughout the throttle band...tested good... so i dropped the pan to test the solenoids and wow...the trans fluid was brownish black and the filter looked horrible...so i replaced both the filter and fluid and well see if it helped the problem when i take it for a drive tomorrow
  18. yea i knew that..LOL i would just move them up out of the way if he wasnt using factory MJ plates
  19. front would swap right over.... rear would need new perches in the correct location for either SUA or SOA (would give you 5" lift) and new shock mounts
  20. i had 3.07 and my MJ was a TURD...switched to 4.10 and never looked back
  21. thx ill go down and pick another one up...I'm sure its the original w/176K on it...
  22. My 90 XJ has decided to get a bug up its but and toss this problem at me....just recently for some reason it starts to shift at oddball RPM like 3500 up to 4000...has erratic shift patterns and feels like it was slipping also...checked the fluid...LOW...so i filled it up and it went away...so i parked it at home for about 35min and left and it started again but not as bad...what could it be? bad TCU, TPS or shift solenoids or something else? Its an A/T
  23. where ya located...i can lend a helping hand if ya need one
  24. yea i know how ya feel...i swapped all my stuff w/new...OEM draglink and new ZJ tie rod...then added a MORE steering box brace and my steering is tight
  25. yea you could use the stuff off you TJ and put it on the MJ....the best stuff to grab is the ZJ V8 Tie rod...much beefier...but if your looking to keep costs down your TJ stuff will work
