  1. i put a 40series flowmaster with a 2.5" exhaust that dump out behind the pass. rear tire and a xj-armor k&n intake and have felt no power loss or torque loss anywhere in the powerband...i have a 4.0L, 5spd 4x4.
  2. I have just recently aquired an 97 Explorer 8.8 with detroit locker from a buddies rolled offroad toy. Now i plan on swapping this into my 'manche but i would like to keep the truck spring under due to spending money on new leaf springs already...Is it possible to leave the axle spring under instead of welding the perches on top? Anyone think of any complications with making it spring under...i know the popular way is a SOA conversion but i want to be different.... lol
  3. What year cherokees and wranglers did it comes factory in. I am looking to possibly swap out for one in the near future.
  4. ok cool i think I'm gunna call on the axle shafts tonight and get a price with new seals so i can elimante the cad system all together..much easier that trying to swap a complete front d30...should i try and use the ox297 u joints at the outers i heard those are great
  5. so can i just get a passenger side axle out of a newer cherokee without a cad and just cap off my vacuum lines at the t-case?? my 4wd indicator in my dash doesnt work anyway lol
  6. does anyone know of a company or have done it themselves to eliminate the c.a.d. setup on the front axle so i don't have to swap in a new one? if you do can i get that site or if you have done it can i get a parts list of what i will need to do it correctly thx again....
  7. also is there any np231 from the xj/mj years that are not vacuum actuated?? thx again
  8. i have an 87manche with a stock front d30 and np231 t/c with the vacuum actuated design and was wondering if i get a d30hp without the actuator what would be the best bet for a new t/c. i am planning a ax-15 swap in the near future and am looking for a non actuated t/c that will bolt right up and still work with the driveline and trans..what year xj/mj should i get my axle from and what year xj/mj and type of t/c should i snag...thx 4 the help
  9. yea your right i worded it wrong...he gave me the old syncro and the ribs on the silver color were completley gone the surface was smooth unlike the other side it was still ribbed...now i know the answer will probably be no but is there anyway that the adjustments can be made with the trans still in the truck since its my DD....can't afford to have this thing down again for another week while he fudges around with this.
  10. Hey guys...i got my 87 MJ and its got the puegot tranny in it...well about 6mnths ago the darn thing blew up so i only had 3 and 4 gear so i decided since money at the time was cheap to just replace instead of swapping...now i got a rebuild that a reputable shop built for me but now i am having a problem that only shows up every so often...what will happen is it will just mysteriously jump out of 1st gear and only that one?? now i know its not the syncro cuz the guy at the shop had to tear it back apart last week to replace it(burned out)...could i fix this by putting different fluid in or what I'm so annoyed and unfortunantly its my DD help me i am running val 75w-90 in it now thx MJ rule
  11. ok coolness i will buy a set and get them installed...good idea on the u-joints but i thought of that when i pulled the trans out cause it exploded on me one day...i still got to do the front driveshaft joints tho and the front axle joints too thx for the input everyone...
  12. Hey everybody... i am looking to get a little more lift out of my MJ...i have a stock rear leaf pack with a add-a-leaf..not really happy but my question is if i get the 4in leaf pack from rustys will i need to get a slip yoke eliminator kit or can i still run my stock driveshafts?? I have a 1in transfercase drop kit thats not installed yet could i use that to compensate for the increased lift I'm just trying to get everything planned out thx a bunch
  13. hey everyone...i have got a problem with my jeep I have had my 87 MJ for 3 years now and a problem has just recently in the past year or so has started. Sometimes after i start it the idle with go up to about 2000 rpm and won't come down and sometimes it will drop to normal and then pop back up. i have a new engine and have pulled the throttle body and cleaned it, replaced iac, tps, etc and can't get it to stop...although it sometimes will go days without doing it but then just gets a bug up its a$$ and does it every start up...now the strange thing is if i start the truck and its doing this i shut it off and push the throttle linkage at the TB under the hood then start it back up it idles normally?? I am completly lost and would appreciate any help....MJ RULE
