usually with a new filter this is normal. one should clean a filter before it is put in with an airbrush or airfilter cleaner. if you can find a K&N setup for an XJ (Cherokee) it will work. maybe try some tuner brands or go onto summitracing maybe jegs I cleaned and oiled it reguarly and had it on the jeep for 2yrs...and noticed it everytime i pulled the filter off and went on NAXJA and read some reviewed and now ill stay away from them...AirRaid is a better filter anyways IMO

don't run a K&N filter period...i had one on my 87 and when i pulled the filter i noticed a crap load of dust inside my intake tube and realized the filter was doing a horrible job...i run an AirRaid and don't have that problem anymore...i won't ever run a K&N again...just my .02

Looks good but be careful with those...i had a set of 32 Kumho's and the sidewalls are very soft and love to punture easily :headpop:

I'm at 7.5" lift on my SWB with no SYE..i have plenty of engagement in the d/s

i had 4.5" on my MJ and had 32's w/3.75 backspaced rims and didnt rub with fender trimming you could fit 32's on 3" but if you don't wanna trim IMO 4.5 is the way to go...My ride on Short arms wasnt bad at all but compared to my 7.5" lift with Dropbrackets its night and day

it will bolt up but the ports don't line up correctly so unless your putting on the HO head it would be pointless

my ignition switch(down at the bottom of the column) shorted between 2 of the tangs and the blower/radio/guages yada all quit working...swapped it out and havent had a prob since...mine was due to a floppy tilt mechanism on the column

yea it keeps the spring on the front axle if you happen to flex enough to clear the bumpstop tower
