    This might be better.

Each number/letter in the vin has a meaning. They are laid out in the factory service manual. This should help.
  3. I don't have a 242 shift gate but I do have two 231 gates if you want to modify one to work. I do have one 242 shift bezel if you want it $10 + shipping.
  4. I will look tonight I might have one. I know I have a few 242 shifter bezels if you need one of those.
  5. Just looked at the MTS website and looks like they now have a 91-92 MJ sending unit for sale. Part # JPSU-7 https://www.mtscompany.com/sendingunits.htm
  6. I ordered one last year from them (MTS) and had to call them on the phone. AFAIK it is the only place that offers a new MJ sending unit. The part you want is JPSU-6 for just the sending unit and JPSU-6P4.0 with the fuel pump. https://www.mtscompany.com/sendingunits.htm
  7. That does appear to be the correct plug. Here is a screenshot out of the 91 service manual showing the plug and the wires that go to the speed sensor. Those are the only 2 wires I hooked up when I did the fuel injection on my Eagle as I kept the original speedometer. Fairly certain one of those other wires goes to the cruise and the other to the speedometer. Might be wrong on that.
  8. I agree that over time and all the heat cycles the o-rings will mold them selves to the shape of the fuel rail or intake manifold. The ones will be round. I have used the Fel-Pro (#ES73096) o-rings with great results.
  9. That is a very clean truck. Not sure how much it could sell for but there was a Comanche with less than 1/2 the miles that sold for $35k last year.
  10. Found a blue one on ebay. https://www.ebay.com/itm/226489475754?_skw=jeep+cherokee+Deflecta-Shield&itmmeta=01JHJGXXE12GKHZ7SJQ0V959FR&hash=item34bbd322aa:g:01IAAOSwQ79nV6Ux&itmprp=enc%3AAQAJAAABAHoV3kP08IDx%2BKZ9MfhVJKmGYDg65GGRuRz%2FVe1hK9AAM%2F44uMNYzJiRp0LtbIuQuJsNBicn05P%2BX07LP8%2ByEffWM4Ult2uI3VNH%2Bl%2FlKKYIXE8YziNoLGeoTzsBfmAOW5LkXB7JGDwFX%2BI99ynNHhv0suGW306mlOP06CIEJVko6s8VpHTmbowbtUHnszF%2FqFF0QXeT3y8GcnHuHrv3Uhj4mUiuqROkflBi4EwVhsUcJKCQfCYWYxoaKs2nKdP12q%2F5TyHLknBg4vpdZv8fBv4doG472u8W%2FHmObRpx0zn6lPEJW7Xrr%2BpjkiF63C0%2BrHTJtf1GSisGTJ0RpPD%2FP%2Bg%3D|tkp%3ABk9SR6DX99CMZQ According to the application chart it looks like you are looking for bracket # 9241.
  11. Looks good. How does that install? Does it attach to the header panel or the hood?
  12. One thing to keep in mind is, as far as I know you can't put the old door cards on the 97+ doors. Also I have heard with the door closed you won't be able to open the 96- glove box with the 97+ door cards.
  13. I have the Bilstein 5125's on my Comanche and like them a lot better than the pro comps I took off. I also have the kyb gas adjust shocks on my Eagle and they are fantastic. Defiantly recommend those.
  14. Got the prototype of the Eagle turbine hubcap sticker made today. I think it turned out great. The final version will be black and chrome like the original Jeep version.
  15. The 97+ mirrors have a larger mounting surface than the older mirrors and that might be why they look short. I think that for everything to line up properly you need all the window trim and the 97+ mirrors.
  16. The ignition switch plug would be something to look at. If your lights are dimming when you press the brake it could just be a coincidence that your alternator is dying or on its way out. Check voltage on the battery when running. It should be about 14 volts with a properly functioning alternator.
  17. If you look at these pics looks like your engine bay is the stock configuration. Like 89MJ said probably easier removed from the bottom. @eaglescout526 would probably know better.
  18. A quick search on Rock Auto shows the 91 and 88 have different part numbers. Most if not all of the parts you are looking for can be found there. https://www.rockauto.com/en/catalog/jeep,1988,comanche,4.0l+242cid+l6,1181584,steering I recommend using Moog ball joints and tie rod ends. They have worked well for me. If your tie rods are adjusted to max and its still not in spec something is wrong. Worst case your axle is bent, although I doubt it.
  19. Pinion yoke has 26 splines axle shafts have 27. https://www.rockauto.com/en/catalog/jeep,1988,comanche,4.0l+242cid+l6,1181584,drivetrain,drive+shaft+end+yoke,16612
  20. The axle shafts are 27 spline. I have never counted the pinion splines though which is where the 26 is coming from.
  21. The full rebuild kit with ring/pinion and bearings is only $10 more. https://www.rockauto.com/en/moreinfo.php?pk=5699505
  22. Here is the dana part number for the 3.07 gears. Dana 73442-5X. You can get them on Rock Auto. However they are way more than they should be. Most other Dana gear sets on Rock Auto are about 1/3 the price.
  23. Defiantly the way to do it. I've set up 4 different axles and I had the pull them completely apart quite a few times before I got them good enough.
  24. Interesting. the throttle bodies I have (3) all have this screw and 2 of them had covers over them. The port that the screw regulates goes above the throttle plate giving the engine a bit more or less air to adjust the idle. It might be refered to as the extra air screw.
  25. I thought that screw was for idle speed adjustment and had a cover over it from the factory to prevent adjustment.
