612to303s 89 Comanche (New Flat Black Paint Job!)
KYMJ replied to 612to303's topic in Member Projects: Your Comanches
Gosh a'mighty, I love that scenery. Looks like a place I need to be. Back on topic:Nice truck. -
I'd like to have to have the topper.

Can't help, I have Kentucky Farm Bureau. They kinda expected a lift kit and big tires when I insured my TJ on 35's. They asked how much more I needed to insure it to cover add ons'. $78 every 3 months for full coverage, however I'm quite a bit older than you. For comparison, I pay $56 every 3 months for my Comanche, liability only. Good luck.

Have to tighten mine every couple of months or so.

Cool. My wife is an aspiring actress in local theatre. Made her debut as Ouiser in "Steel Magnolias" and stole the show. Better than Shirley McLain, but I'm biased, the good. However, not as well paid, the not good. She's done 4 or 5 plays. I'm proud of her. She even got a bit role in an obscure movie produced by some of her thesbian friends(thesbian not les.., well you know what I'm talking about). http://gallery.glemacenter.org/magnolias/magnolias83

88 Comanche Chief - 'the UniTruggy'
KYMJ replied to johnny quest's topic in MJ Hardcore Tech: Epic Journeys to Greatness
This thread makes me  $500 friggin Chief in friggin Utah, might as well be Egypt. -
You can hear mine only when it's low on fuel and it just started doing it. I'm ordering one just in case. I replaced mine with a cheapo Airtex 2 years ago.

91 and up is HO, I believe, and less vacuum lines than Renix. All I've owned(Comanches) have been Renix, just going by pics and other JEEPS I've owned.
-
I understand that and should have added it. Still love the truck, but need something more reliable now.
-
You're not alone. Mine was ultra reliable until this year. Every time I get my 4 days off from work, I have to do something to it. It's piling up along with all the other chit. I'm considering buying a new DD.

New IAC installed today, cured my idleing problems.

MY rear bumper build is finally underway
KYMJ replied to A-man930's topic in Member Projects: Your Comanches
PO checking in. I can't take responsibility for the lack of rust. I did a Carfax on the truck, just for the heck of it when I bought it. The truck was originally bought in Meridian, Mississippi, went to Virginia Beach, Va, spent some time in Central TN, before it wound up in the Lake Barkley area of Western KY(my favorite stomping grounds). Tops the list for 'things I sold which I regret'. -
I'm in Madisonville.

I found my problem using an ohmmeter. The fusible links did not show any damage. Wiggle them, like Cheyenne said, they will fall apart if melted. After studying the wiring diagram that was the next thing for me to check. I was not getting power to part of the fuse block. The power comes into the fuse panel from those wires on the stater relay.
-
I repaired mine with fusible link wire bought at NAPA. I just crimped it in like an ordinary piece of wire.
-
I just bought my e-brake cable at Rock Auto.com

Mine is doing the same thing. Was planning on trying a new IAC, as I've already cleaned mine several times over the years, figure it's time for a new one. I'll be watching this post for more suggestions.

Guess that needs an explanation now that I have time. My neighbor's driveway is on a hill, going down. I would take her daughter to school along with mine. When 30k was approaching, the tranny would always slip ever so slightly going back up the hill in reverse. After the fluid change, ok. 3 diff Grands, go figure.
-
The Chrysler transmissions REALLY have to have the fluid and filter changed every 30000 miles. Always changed them in my Grands religously and never had one fail. They would act up every 30k and remind me and I would always think they were on thier way out. Always fine after fliud changes. And I always used Mopar fluid. I put drain plugs in all of mine to make it a no hassle job. Mine were 42 re's, I think(4.0's). Good luck!

My floors looked indentical to yours. Getting toward the point of no return, still pretty solid however. I used this:http://www.oreillyauto.com/site/c/detail/PTX0/81773.oap?pt=N0478&ppt=C0171 and Rustoleum paint. Wire wheeled them first. Mainly because it was available locally and quick. Time will tell.

X2 Time to deal with my FB. Wondering about XJ combatibility, I don't expect any issues, but want to make sure. -
You might check out your fusible links also, located at the starter relay. I shorted out something last month and discovered that there is 3 or more power wires coming into the fuse block and powering "bridges" (a better word escapes me) that power multiable items. I wound up blowing one of the links and it was not visible.
