  1. Best camo job I've seen.
  2. I dread that job, but thanks for the link. :hijack:
  3. Not saying that I could do better, but don't these people read the news. http://autos.yahoo.com/news/trouble-for ... reign.html Seems like they could be doing well with Mazda or at least trying. I got out of that game long ago and I hated working for family business'.
  4. make sure to check where the radio antenna comes in the cab. its behind a panel right in front of the pass door on the floor. mine was leaking like a mofo from there. Yeah, I think I will leave the kick panel off until I find all the leaks. I did put a new door seal on that side. And I need to replace the smokers window with a stationary one as soon as I can go to the pull a part. I "shimmed" the latch, which seemed to cure the leak there. I don't want to leave the cardboard in there forever. Well, back at it.
  5. Finishing up painting floorboards, been putting it off for a year, PITB. Fixed a few of the leaks, I think the back slider is leaking also. The leaks will be a work in progress. New parking brake cable and headliner while I have the interior apart, new carpet will have to wait on sufficent funds.

    Another Project:

Don't see why you couldn't make some bucks. Good luck.
  7. They are not self tapping. The problem is there are nuts welded into the frame of the bed. So, if your not having any problems, the bolts are available anywhere bolts are sold. Are you having the problem I had when I removed the tank for replacement, one of the nuts broke loose? I had a heck of a time getting one of mine out, because a nut broke loose. There is no way to get to some of the nuts to hold them in case they break loose. Luckily mine was the outer most one and was able to get a vise grip on it. So, if your not having a problem, just take a bolt out and match it up. When you reinstall the bolts, use ANTISIEZE and avoid the problem I had.
  8. I'd rather have it than a JK.
  9. Being an old bicycle guy, I made mine with old bicycle parts. Used an old frame shifter from an old road bike. Never heard of using a grip shifter.
  10. Should have got it while it was cheaper. viewtopic.php?f=24&t=30911
  11. Mine's heavily stained and wore out. I'll replace it if I can find something. I wasn't pleased with the new one I put in my 1990, so I'll try this route for now.
  12. Now thats a teaser pic.
  13. Don't ever sell something to get the next greatest thing. I sold my kayak so I could get a new model that was coming out in a month. Sold the first day on Craigslist, by the time the new model came out the money evaporated. NO KAYAK FOR ME AT THE MOMENT.
  14. Need a bed? I bought a rust free one that wound up being not so rust free and needs a patch welded over the drivers side wheelwell. I'm leaning toward just getting rid of it. I have no fab skills.
  15. I did that about 3 years ago and it's looking bad. Call this place for touch up:http://automotivetouchup.com/ One can of spray color and 1 can of spray clear will do a hood, fender, or tailgate, etc and it lasts a long time. I did this fender:Image Not Found I'll shoot some pics of the tailgate where I used some regular clearcoat on the tailgate to show that it will not last. Nice truck and I hate you falling into a deal like that. :D
  16. I thought that crap only happened to me. This is the only thing that comes to mind right now. What kind of extractor are you using? The square type or spiral type? Try another type. I've got both and sometimes one type grips better than the other. Try heat if you can do so without burning the truck up. Not much to work with, but been there done that.
  17. This is what I did on Father's Day. All due to ignoring needed maintenance. My emergency brake was way out of ajustment and had been cutting out the radio briefly, when applied, until the other day, I finally shorted something out. You can see the severed wire that I repaired, severed by the E brake mechanism. The harness runs right behind the assembly. This is what I lost, stop lights, radio, interior lights, and clock. The severed wire supplied power to the part of the FB that carries the Haz/Stop fuse. It fried this fuse. There are no other damaged wires. Here's the confusing part: I blew the fusible link to the wire that supplies the part of the FB that supplies the ETR fuse. The only thing I can assume is that this was because they terminate together at the starter relay. Does this sound reasonable? I'd like to feel reasonably confortable that I won't be roasting my truck, sadly it's the only ride I have at the moment. Lucky the Comanche isn't toast I reckon. So, I spent most of the day running this all down with my meter(no visible damage to fusable link) and I hope I'm on the right track on repairs. No one had 18 guage fusable link in town today. Keep up with the small stuff is the moral of the story I suppose. Image Not Found
  18. I've looked at that and saw it as a possibility. The deeper into the thread I got, the less sure I was. So, I'm waiting for your results
  19. Sold, or link no work.
  20. I will be come new tire time. These Yokohamas last forever, I expected to replace them this spring. Too good to throw out, not worth changing over the wheels yet. Actually, I was hoping to have this thing converted to 4x4 by now and get mud tires.
  21. See the 2 holes where the warm air comes out? Just above that is a piece of "tape" that covers the 2 screws. Never noticed it before I took the box off last fall to install a console.
  22. Haven't done anything in a while, guess I'll get back to work. I have this to deal with and I'll need some help please.I guess I'll start by removing metal until I have no rust. viewtopic.php?f=26&t=30574 Image Not Found
  23. Well, maybe not so rust free. I took the flares off today and I have the same rust under the flare, driver's side, that came up on my truck. Overall a whole lot nicer than the bed on my truck, so less body work, except the rust repair. Guess I will be learning welding after all. About time I learned anyway. At least it's off the truck and can take my time.
  24. Almost feel guilty, but talked to the guy last night and he seemed ok about it. I can use the bed because I can't weld. No way I thought it would go for $50 and never checked up on it. My max was $50 just as a joke.
