Wow that looks awesome, I love the blue. What did you use to paint the console
-
Interesting, well I’m glad it’s gonna work, I can’t wait to see how it turns out

Wow so the bumpers are very different. Top is old style, bottom is newer Newstyle top of bumper: Oldstyle Top of bumper Newstyle bottom of bumper Oldstyle bottom of bumper: BRACKET MEASURMENTS: Also no nutserts on bumper, just nut and bolted
-
I’ll throw some measurements on my 2000 brackets and you can compare them
-
There’s 2 nurserts per fender, I don’t remember clips on the bumper tho
-
I believe the newstyle bumper brackets are different and stick out further, and as you know the bumper is slightly different just having more holes

I’m an idiot and coolant is hot
jpnjake replied to CMFW's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
No problem, just the stuff you have to get used to -
You’ll never get a truck like the one you have now ever again, it’ll always either need more work, not be what you want, or be even more money. I have buddies that sold their cars and trucks that they liked over an issue they kept having, and then they regret it and always say how they wish the never did. Just take a break before you make a decision you’ll regret, and if you decide to, then just make sure it’s the right decision.

I’m an idiot and coolant is hot
jpnjake replied to CMFW's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
There’s 2 places depending on if your radiator is the stock or aftermarket one, the stock renix position is here, typically ontop of a coolant bottle bracket the Other place either on an upgraded system, High output, or 2.5l I believe located here as a normal radiator cap. This time make sure that the coolant is cold, don’t want a geyser of coolant -
Nice find. Looks like a solid start On a side not Who assaulted those flares

Out of curiosity where did you find that in your truck

Found during valve cover gasket install
jpnjake replied to NC Tom's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
I have this done on my Comanche, the only thing I’d say the valve is good for is my passenger complained about the heat from the dash without the heat on in the summer, the late xj’s don’t have that problem since the dash is thicker and insulates the passenger from the heater. -
Xj rear bumper…. Interesting

Found during valve cover gasket install

This is the HCV I have in my chief, note it’s not running so not everything is hooked up, including the vacuum line. But without it connected to vacuum you shouldn’t have heat -

Taillights? -
They never really are. There’s never been a point where I’m searching to find something new to do to it

How much lift can I get away with?
jpnjake replied to Peanut_butter_mj's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Here’s 3” on my black truck with no trac bar, it’s less noticeable because I have wheels that don’t stick out. And I know, it’s extremely dirty… -
More parts is never a bad thing
-
Damn that sucks, it might be worth it to look for like a used set on eBay or something
-
I just got my outside metal trim from the junkyard, it was free with the other stuff I bought

Also to the OP, I went with adjustable lower control arms that are slightly lengthened, and I still have to do my tracbar, either drill new hole, or adjustable one. -
The original one on the Comanches is metal around the edges, it pops right off with some prying, the newer style is held in pretty good, and is a full one piece of rubber
