1986 cherokee 2.5 FS $1500 OBO
beaterjeep replied to JeepcoMJ's topic in Member Projects: Your Comanches
You suck man, ya know that? lol -
Well, that was FUN, yea right. Just got out of the hospital from a week long stay. About 3 weeks ago I had strep, which lead to a sinus infection, which then made it's way into my lungs. So, I'm home now, but not without meds to take for a while yet. I still have an I.V. in my right arm, and am rendered USELESS until it comes out. Just thought I'd let everyone know where I'd been off to. I am SO glad to be back home and out of that place.
-
I recieved mine last saturday, but was unable to let you know. Thanks man, some good footage in there, gave me something to watch over and over again while in the hospital. Let me know how to send you your dues for it, and it will be sent promptly. EDIT: I'm a dumbass that didn't pay attention to his own PM's. Payment will be sent today. Thanks again Rick.

DO IT! But make sure ya take lots of pics when you do do it. ;)
-
Wow man, that's a pretty sharp looking truck ya got there. I'm glad you got the emblems fine. Now I'm waiting to see what "ideas" you have for them, and good to know I could help contribute to a fellow MJer's truck in any way I can.
-
I had a feeling you'd end up keeping it anyways. By the time you're done with it, I bet you'll be glad you kept it.
-
WOAH, easy there, this is a family oriented forum you know. Sorry, couldn't help myself on that one. :brows:
-
Just thought of another one that I've read and really liked. "Playground" by John Buell, it's about a guy that flies a private plane and crashes, ends up on a deserted island, and it's his accounts of what went on until the time he was found. I really liked it, and I rarely if ever read books.
-
Well, what type of reading do you actually like to do? If you like real life accounts, I'd suggest picking up the books from Dave Pelzer, "A child called it", "The lost boy", and "A man named Dave". Very good books. In fact I've read each of them more than once.

Chop a potion of an MJ bed and weld it to the fenders, same body lines. Far as the hood, I'd take two hoods, cut them so the distance would be the same for both, hinge it in the middle. :brows: I like that thinking; and it would come out looking decent too.
-
You poor, poor man you. Don't feel too bad, I'm in the same boat.
-
I actually like the look of it. Although, I bet you'd get more opinions and looks if you retitled the thread "I got wood". Yes, I am a lil
-
Nice one Pat, and yea, any help on this kind of swap would be greatly appreciated.
-
Heck with the longarms and all, how's he expect anyone to find a set of fenders and a hood to fit that thing?
-
There is the 86 only models; X, XLS, and Custom. From 87 up to 92 there is; Pioneer, Sportruck, Cheif, Eliminator, base, Laredo. And honestly I feel that even I'm missing one or two models as well.
-
Or in other words, you have a np231 t-case and if you wanted the full time feature, you'd want to get a np242 t-case. I have one in my 86 and I absolutely love it.
-
So, is THAT the tan bench in the corner that we always advise the newbies not to sit on? ;)
-
So, what I'm gathering from my new found edumication on it, is that it's barely contacting the gears? Therefore meaning that over time if installed like that, it would be way sloppy and eventually break. Am I correct on that, or do I have it wrong yet again? BTW, thanks all for the lesson on backlash, hope I have it right now.

MJ Vin Plate Decoding Information
beaterjeep replied to LEAD_NOT_FOLLOW's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
If it helps any, here's the VIN from my 1986 MJ X Selec-Trac with a V6. 1JTWC6576GTxxxxxx. Guess I should add that it's carbed V6, has the 3 speed floor shift. -
Call me stupid, or just non-knowledged about that, but I don't understand backlash and reading patterns AT ALL. Could ya please explain what I'm looking at?
-
Funny the lambo/suicide door gets brought up. There's been an idea in the back of my head since I fully made my mind up on the direction of my 88. Suicide lambo doors, yes, that's right lambo doors that open up towards the BACK of the truck. I'd like to see someone copy me on that one. Back to the original post now, do it Pat, you know you want to and can.

For those people that visit this site while at work, ya might want to put a not safe for work warning in there. I'm sure the sidebars and deal at the end of the show could get someone in a heap of trouble. Other than that, awesome find.

I caught him before he could get to bed. Started talking with him, and because of it, he thought of the motor colors. On another note, them turbines will be powdercoated black with silver spokes this winter. And yep, it will look nice when it's all done with. -
I find it kinda funny that someone went and dug up and revived this thread, when I started one about it in the pub as well. Not complaining though, just found it a lil comical is all.
