  1. I wish you the best of luck with it all.
  2. Totally awesome, but I'd like to hear it with a load on the engine.
  3. Though that sounds bad, I've seen so many experienced drivers get stuck when their tires get hung up on something because they don't know how to work the axles. But then again, that's us city folk.
  4. Actually...a lower ratio is what is desired ;) . 3.55 is higher numerically than 3.07, but it is a lower gear ratio. I know what you mean, but I'm gonna disagree. 3.55:1 is a greater ratio than 3.07:1 (bigger difference in numbers). Maybe I'm wrong here.... either way, we're on the same page.
  5. Another vote for a D44 or Ford 8.8 conversion. Get one with a higher ratio in it already and it pays itself off.
  6. Being very budget minded (cheap), I made a bastard pack for my truck. I havent had a chance to load it well though. viewtopic.php?f=2&t=13690 (pics a few posts down) Matt
  7. yea, the very end of it broke (the end that's in the switch). I hit it with my shoulder when taking my seat out. I think I'll have to change out the whole switch (I have a donor, but its the time thats tough)
  8. well that did it. Thank you. Now if I could only find a way of getting the broken stem out of the old one, it would save me a ton of time. It broke off at the little bottleneck at the bottom. Any ideas?
  9. I must be totally missing something here.... I'm in the midst of changing my turn signal switch in my 87(non-tilt) column. Both books I have say to remove the screw for the signal arm, but I can't seem to find it. Can someone point it out to me before my head explodes? Thankyou. :wall:
  10. I'm in my third year at Iona College. I've already finished my minor in Germans and am two classes shy of my BA in history. Unfortunetely I still have 6 or so more core classes I have to take :fs1:
  11. Similar story Back in december I was out of town for hockey when we got our first good snow. Anywho, a fedex truck got stuck in snow down the block from me and my father decided to give the jeep a whirl and went and pulled it out. I think he actually moved his f150 out of the way just to get my truck out of the driveway, I guess he just saw her sitting there and wondered if she could do it. Pulled that sucker out no problem.
  12. I'm running a 3.55 rear and 3.54 front, no problems.
  13. The 2 Ton Engine hoist was my favorite.
  14. perfect sound track.
  15. Take the fuel line off the carb and blow air down it (assuming there are no more inline filters). Put a clean rag near the other end so you can see the $#!& that blows out.
  16. renix 4.0/5 speed/3.55s City I never really calculated. On the highway I've seen 24.5. This is at about 65mph. It really tanks if I go any faster. I still have to change to new injectors, get an alignment, and go for another run to see what I can get.
  17. Wow. I saw you post in another thread about your camper, but had no idea you were doing it with a 2.8, that's impressive..... I put a longblock sbf in my truck when 2.8 equipped and it threw a fit.
  18. I fit mine with a set of door lights from an early 90s 379 peterbilt. I don't think I ever made a write-up, but I'll include it in my next post.
  19. old school?
  20. I have one for a swb. Make me an offer.
  21. I have trouble sleeping at night when I think about my old 2.8l :fs1:
  22. I've only had a long bed (I had a short but never used it). I use it on trip and such so the extra space is nice. But I can see where a swb would be better off road. And I also agree, in stock for a swb looks better, but once anything gets bigger on the truck, the long bed is nice.
  23. I fit in a front seat from a late 90s dakota pickup. It's pretty much 2 buckets with a little seat in the middle that folds down into a console. Made a HUGE difference over my stock, worn to hell bench.
  24. Ha I'm not much for "fancy riding vehicles". I've never owned anything but a heavy pickup and a fairly built mustang.
