Went down to NorthwestMJs house today to check out his beautiful new little truck TealSteel, on my way home I took the scenic route. Turned out pretty good. Found this first: “It’s my son’s and it’s not for sale” was the answer at the door. We shall see about that. I’ll be back to check on her. Then cruising along, couple miles down the road, spotted this guy. Stopped in and actually talked with the guy for a while. Paid $800 for the truck. Factory 44 in the rear. Pretty nice truck really. Wish I had found it. He had just recently bought it locally Then last weekend I found this guy out and about and was talking to him and he told me where to find the truck so I did some Comanche creepin on him. It was actually there. NWMJ’s 2 plus these 3 make it a 5 MJ day. Do the 6 at home count? 11 MJ Day?

When I did the flex plate job, I painted my dipstick tube just because it was out and easy to do. I’ve been meaning to stop and buy some red paint for the dip stick handle. Luckily I spotted a guy walking around on the job site today painting stuff red. So I asked if I could borrow the paint for a minute. Turned out pretty good for no prep but hosing off with brake clean.

Well, you could have said “Hey WranglerMangler, I found another Comanche for you to buy!” We want more Pictures!!!! What a beautiful little truck.

DO NOT throw away your old pump and sending unit!!! I’ve made this mistake before and still regret it today. Someone will buy it from you if you want to get rid of it.

I recently did the sentinel light upgrade and interior light upgrade too. Really like Having the lights inside. Just a suggestion for next time your at the Junkyard. Don’t forget the glove box light too lol. Try to totally option out all my MJs. It’s fun taking a super base truck to a Pioneer trim or better!

Tow yard Comanches are some of the best Comanches! Good catch. We all know a scrap guy would love to have crushed it for next to nothing.

That thing is rough for a WA jeep. Hardly ever see dashboards like that around here. Definitely overpriced imo And from the header panel spacing like scguy pointed out, just imagine the quality of work that has gone into anything else that guy has touched. Probably has rats nested all the wiring too.

The flex plate has been rattling around in the bell housing for a while now in CommuteChe. I figured it was cracked and had been putting off the repair because my “shop” is in the grass and it’s been raining a lot. This weekend I finally got around to making it happen. Luckily my good buddy Cody let me borrow his garage. It was nice getting out of the mud to do a transmission repair. Lol. You guys with garages don’t know how good you got it. Upon tear down, I found the flex plate bolts had actually loosened up and wallowed out the mounting holes. Fairly uneventful repair, glad to have it done. Did flush out the fluid and changed the filter as well. 140,300mi

This is what I keep hearing. (The paint) Lol. Have just only begun the search. If I get to the point of interior assembly and have yet to find any, I’ll definitely try the paint!!

Little bit off topic, looking through your interior pictures, and I notice you also have the upper hockey stick armrest chrome trim piece missing, is that an interior option to only get the lower chrome trim then upgrade to the “full arm rest trim” or had someone had our armrests off and didn’t put the upper chrome trim piece back on? I see you have the drivers side map pocket so I assume it’s a full option trim package? Curious if you happen to know.

Looking to switch over to Black Interior trim. Have everything but the B pillar covers, glove box lid, Center console lid and Rear cab trim underneath the rear window. Let me know if you have any of these. Thanks. Hopefully willing to ship to Western Washington.

I think it looks great. Easy fix to a pain in the butt repair. Good job sir. Only a really detail oriented enthusiast would ever notice your little adapter piece. I’ve been thinking about doing the same to my Renix. Already have the HO thermostat housing installed.

It must not be pinned the same, it’s a 2wd truck, so the cluster isn’t receiving a Part Time signal from the truck. Definitely not jumping to alternator problems.

How it started: How it ended: Thank you ‘87 XJ. Your spirit will live on forever in many of my MJs!! I suppose I’m done thread jacking myself on this XJ part out. Lol. There will probably be another one soon enough.
