  1. Thanks man I’d really appreciate it
  2. I’ll have to do some research then so I know what I’m getting into. Any idea if Felpro makes one of their blue gaskets for the oil pan? I couldn’t find it if they do or I don’t know what other vehicles would interchange, thinking the Dakota valve cover gasket.
  3. So I pulled my transmission and I’m looking for opinions on what I should do with my flywheel. I’d like to just have it resurfaced and stick with oem but I’m not sure about the teeth. Also there doesn’t appear to be any cracks. I know there pretty inexpensive but being an 86 I don’t know if I can just put any 2.5 flywheel in or if there’s any oem available. What do you think?
  4. Stuck in the driveway but still putting in work...
  5. That was my thought, it couldn’t hurt. Yeah I’ve been dreading it myself and I’ve read it’s pretty much impossible to do without pulling that trans so I guess the slave going out is a blessing in disguise. By single piece do you mean it’s separate from the oil pan gasket? From what I’ve seen/read that was my impression, I’m sure that’s gonna make it even more of a pain.
  6. Once I put the new one in I’m thinking about rebuilding the old one just for fun lol but I bet your right. It couldn’t have given up the ghost at a better time, so I lucked out.
  7. This thing is caked with grease everywhere you look so the rear main seal, and oil pan gasket will be getting replaced as well. Along with probably hours of cleaning oil that’s been spewing for who knows how long. I have no idea how the starter still works but it will get shined up as well. I came prepared though 😎
  8. So the MJ has been sitting in the driveway for a little over a month... Last time it snowed I went out for a joy ride. All was well until I was on my way home. Clutch pedal started to feel spongy but would still engage until I pulled in my driveway. Went to back out to readjust my parking and lost my clutch pedal completely, look underneath and were the slave meets the bell housing was dripping brake fluid I thought about just replacing the slave but I finally got around to pulling the transmission (never done that before) and I’m glad I did. I'm no mechanic but I assume the bell housing shouldn’t be soaked it brake fluid. I was thinking the clutch would look about the same but to my surprise it was dry as it should but it appears to be on its last leg so that’s getting replaced while I have all this torn apart. Also the flywheel will be getting resurfaced, to me it looks pretty good so hopefully the guy at the machine shop feels the same way.
  9. Oh nice, I just assumed 86 since it’s the older style slave cylinder. I thought post 86 they used the newer style slave but I could be wrong. Either way that gonna be a great nice upgrade.
  10. Are you using an 86 bell housing for the external slave set up?
  11. Edit: I believe the c101 was only for 87 and 88 which relates to engine controls. The c100 below goes to the cab behind the fuse box. Looks the the California 2.8s had a similar functioning connector called the c1 and c2 for engine controls but they plug directly into a Computer Command Control Module which I’m assuming is similar to an ecu.
  12. Just grind the head off and forget about it.
  13. We got a few inches last night but nothing that kept me from getting to work.
  14. Just installed the 2 awg on mine, my old cables had some oxidation and I imagine that’s what kept my truck from starting. All good now, are you doing this before replacing your starter? Also those little circle stickers don’t stick the best but you’ll be able to sort out what goes where.
  15. If you guys are willing to take the time I’m sure it will be appreciated. Hopefully not all the 86 info is lost but either way thanks.
  16. @eaglescout526 @jdog Are you still planning to go through the 86 registry? I’d be interested to see what dealer mine was sold through if that info is available. Also thanks for taking the time to get this information, i imagine it’s pretty time consuming.
  17. Just went to check it out and came back with only the 4x4 emblems. Header panel, tail lights, chrome mirrors, and Wagoneer emblems are all gone.
  18. 89 Jeep Wagoneer at the LKQ in Edgewood MD. https://www.lkqpickyourpart.com/locations/LKQ_Pick_Your_Part_-_Edgewood-209/recents/1989-jeep-wagoneer/
  19. @89 MJ Your not wrong, doesn’t look like the PO tried to hard on the floor replacement. I was just willing to overlook that considering the condition of my 86’s floor and the fact it has a Dana 44 and looks relatively complete.
  20. @Pete M I’m right there with you, being on the east coast I just assume there’s gonna be rust. I was more concerned if it ran and how the frame was. This one does run and from what I’m told has a solid frame but I’ve decided not to take this project on. Just gonna put the money into my 86 and some home projects.
  21. Here she is: https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/447275993333404/?ref=search&referral_code=undefined Currently trying to decide if I want to take on another project or just stick with the one I have. Besides my MJ I know I’ll be working on a 1990 Toyota Pickup in the near future, so I may just let this one pass. Decisions decisions
  22. Will do, it’s definitely got the original Colorado red paint. It’s not in great shape but i may be able to clean it up. Definitely not doing a respray if I get it, at least not for a long time.
  23. That’s what I’m hoping that someone’s been taking care of it, from what I’ve seen and heard it runs and stops but I’ll really know once I see it in person. I’ll hopefully be taking a look later this week and bringing it to its new home.
  24. @eaglescout526 thanks a bunch man, that is a looooonnng build sheet, anything that stands out to you? Looks well optioned and has a Dana 44 with 3.55.
