  1. Drilled a hole in the console insert to run the cable through. CAT5 cable in wire loom. I added a 90 so the cable clears the relay cover retainers. After I ran the cable across the firewall I ran it through the hole next to the clutch master cylinder. The across the back/ bottom of the dash right up to the console and then under and in.
  2. I ran mine through the hole next to the clutch master cylinder also. I covered the cat 5 cable in wire loom. The cable that comes with the REM is long enough to reach the console.
  3. Welcome to the club! Can't wait to see what you do with it. I definitely like the plan!
  4. How long in one drive have you drive it? My runs like crap if the ECM gets reset. After a nice long drive all is fixed. I don't know where and can't find it again but some where I read the Renix ECM needed 20 minutes at above 40 MPH to learn. I sure wish I could find it again.
  5. You're welcome. Good to hear your found a couple. I always try to list the part numbers I use/ find so others don't have to search like I did/do. I've been a parts guy for 20+ years so it's just what I do.
  6. It took allot of looking to find that sensor! It wasn't luck it was perseverance and continual looking.
  7. Congratulations!!
  8. https://youtu.be/Df0aXYveFuk This was when it was really cold here is beautiful Iowa. 0 ish outside temp.
  9. http://cruiser54.com/?p=54 This is cruisers write up on the TPS. 4.56 seems low to me maybe just me. It is a 5V reference. I would definitely check the ground. Where the 3 intersect into 1 would be my guess. I skipped resoldering it the first time I went through my wiring. Went back and did it and was pleasantly surprised at the difference at the sensor. http://cruiser54.com/?p=47 Here's the link to the wires I'm talking about.
  10. In my opinion the world started going to complete poo the day the last won the law suit against McDonald's for getting hot coffee!! That moment was the start of the down fall to this whine @$$ world!
  11. Sounds like rotors to me. If it gets worse the more you apply the brake.
  12. Switch or short for sure. Mine was a mouse nest in the dash behind the radio and two other shorted wires. One of the wires was an add on to the parking lights at one point in life. The added it with a scotch lock and just a bare wire that shorted to the fender when it felt like it. The other was a random wire added into the taillight circuit. I'm guessing those are what required a switch also to finally fix it all.
  13. The MJ and XJ platforms are a great learning platform. Basic hand tools and a multimeter and patience are all you really need. Welcome to the club.
  14. Have you checked fuel pressure with a gauge yet? New parts don't always mean good parts. Mine had very similar issues when I had low fuel pressure.
  15. If you stick to closed the Napa cap I believe it's for a Volvo is a nice upgrade. Part# 7031856 from Napa. O'reilly's or AutoZone part number is 7033.

    That ain't salt

It's been single digits or negative a single digits for the last couple days. Today the sun was out and it was 11° felt nice. I couldn't imagine -34. It's really sad but 20° sounds amazing next week.
  17. My original was crushed.

    "The Middle"

    Agreed!
  19. I absolutely love this build! Great job can't wait for more pictures. I really like how you did the rear doors.
  20. Good to hear you got it figured out. No need to ever stop improving as long as your enjoying the truck.
  21. A frame change is definitely a huge job but a 304 CJ is a fun ride. At a grand it could be worth it. https://www.quadratec.com/products/56011_02D_T.htm You can buy a frame but they aren't cheap.
  22. I used a welder to finish the exhaust because my catalytic converter was removed prior to me owning the truck. Everything else was hand tools.
  23. I would definitely go this route again.
