  1. :agree: But my wallet doesnt at the moment... Believe me, they are on "the list" I'm figuring a re-gear to 4.10 and OX lockers in the front and back should run in the neighborhood of $2000 It should Roger - especially since you just added me as a friend on FB...
  2. Get er done Dave!
  3. Another well worn MJ gets the rebuild! These trucks must be kick@ss or something... can't wait to see some pics
  4. All it takes is that first bit of shine and then you gotta keep going... shoulda stayed with the black  If you are still up for a trip to good old RC I'll be there in three weeks. Be home for spring break from the 7-14th. I don't know what shape the trails around town are in, have to wait and find out. - Take Care! - Brent
  5. When it is too cold out to Wrench this is what you do to keep busy... 4 minute video: http://www.facebook.com/v/526419768467

  7. The difference is AMAZING! Make sure you hack off the mounting brackets from the bench before you pitch it so you can reuse them! Going to put seat covers on the seats or just leave them gray? I didnt have too much of an issue with putting gray seats in my blue interior but I don't know how they would look in a black interior... :dunno:
  8. Diggin the new kicks! Looks Great as always.
  9. Keep up the good work. Someday soon I'll be getting a JCR steering setup. Its on the list for sure!
  10. Looks Great!
  11. Yah, Enjoy your MJ, but realize what you have and try and keep it that way! Your truck is something most people on here dream of having... PS - if you plan on upgrading your tires/wheels and decide you want to sell those Libby ones - give me a shout
  12. Cool, I found some pictures of your MJ from long ago. These were taken on 5-14-2006: - Brent
  13. I've seen this MJ before - YEARS AGO - before I bought mine and started working on it. They guy that owned it (?Gary?) had it at the Blessing of the Jeeps in Mesick and he made it down my way one year for our New Years Eve trail run north of Evart. I saw this one and knew I wanted one! Great to see it finally made it on the board. Brent
  14. Very Very Nice. I'm diggin the Libby wheels! Just put your grille on the right way instead of upside down and its gonna look killer!
  15. So... That is a "Centering ball and yoke" :rotfl2: The website I got my parts from - "DennysDriveshaft.com" called it the "CV centering yoke" - thats where I got my info as to what to call it. :typing: learn something new everyday
  16. I'm beginning to think that the CPS is what is causing my hassle with having problems starting my 1990 MJ. I'd like to get a new one but because it is a costly and very integral item I am wondering if there are brands out there that others have had problems with and could tell me to keep away from? Is this something that I should grab from the dealership? (Taz could you give me a ballpark dealership price?) No rush on this - it'll be a few weeks before I get one... Thanks in Advance
  17. No - not really. I don't understand why people here consider it a difficult task. They might be referring to balancing it once its all done. I've never done that - just popped in the new parts and said its good to go.
  18. Spicer joints are the best. I would hold off on buying any of the house brand ones from auto parts stores. Take your time and do it once rather than multiple times in the years to come...
  19. I've only heard a bit about them and saw what is posted on the Tom Woods Website. I guess that they are supposed to be better than regular Spicer 153X joints. :dunno: I don't see what is so special about them other than you get a warranty with them. I am sure that they are a good product and perform as advertised. I am quite content with the Spicer joints though. They are a widely sold product and their quality of workmanship (as noted on Tom's website) is superior than ANY other joint on the market. If you get them, let us know what you think about them
  20. That is called a "CV Centering Yoke" I understood what you were talking about the minute you said the word "strap"... Don't let these guys be too rough on you :clapping: I just did this job on my front driveshaft not two weeks ago (my rear has been converted to an SYE kit as of last year and I did that one then too). I got my parts from http://www.Dennysdriveshaft.com. If you use greasable U-Joints (I did) you will need to get your hands on some "Flush Mount Grease Fittings" for them. Standard fittings won't work with the yoke on the T-Case because of low clearance issues. You'll need a needle adapter for your grease gun for these as well... I ordered mine from Grainger.com http://www.grainger.com/Grainger/items/5PU59
  21. Got the driveshaft back in. Yesterday we got about 14" of snow during the day. Figured I would take the truck out on the town to play last night while everyone else got stuck in their driveways
  22. To Houghton!!!!? - or Reed City?
  23. Well, not much new has been going on with me and the MJ. It sits in the garage all nice and clean these days - away from the Michigan roads and SALT. I've been wanting to replace the joints on my front driveshaft for quite sometime now and when I was making the drive back to college (I came down to Chicago and all the way up through Wisconsin back to the Upper Peninsula) the joints were vibing pretty badly. I came through Wisconsin to go to a job interview in Madison. I got an offer for the job too - still debating if I want to become a Cheesehead after I graduate this May... Still waiting on some Flush Mount Grease Zerks I bought online to put it back in the truck though... Once I get it back in, then it might just be time to air down and have some fun in the snow!
  24. Lovin' the two tone paint! Welcome!
