 Maybe just go get a set of regular unpainted ones so the scratches don't show.

Same fender flare as what was already scratched up? Good video of your truck, love it.

I've never seen a fried D30 before this! I guess I should "never say never"... Best of luck with finding out what the problem is and getting it taken care of. If I can help in anyway let me know - i.e. pick up an axle you find on CL up here in Madison or something for ya...

:headpop: Tell me about it, I woke up early on Saturday morning when we were there just to go in and see that place. What a load of junk! They wasted an hour of my time...

Ok Back on topic. I'd be able to bring my Blue '88 to any meet and greet after Labor Day weekend (Sept 5-7th). I'll be going home over the weekend of Aug. 29-31st to get it and then be heading up to the UP of Michigan for the long Labor Day weekend Sept. 5-7th. Anything prior to that weekend will be my White '90. Northern Illinois is only about 2-3 hours for me depending on where I go there. Indiana is kind of stretching it for meeting up for a burger to me... A few weeks back we had our family reunion in Peru Illinois. Near the intersection of I-39 and I-80. We met up at the park in town (free) and cooked out under a nice pavilion there. We stayed at a KOA that was 20 minutes outside of town - not a bad campground if you could find a high spot to set-up your tent. Just an idea but if I am driving over 2-3 hours to get there, I'd be up for more than just a burger and then turn around to go home. A camping trip would be cool with me...

Correy is fine - I know this for a fact. Once he comes back on he will have some news to share. What could it be? :dunno:

The rear Dana 44 came from a 1987 XJ with the Towing Package( - I think). I know it came from the '87 XJ - the seller - dfreeman616 - informed me of this. I think that all Dana 44's came in XJ's with the Towing package - however I am not certain of this. I do know that Dana 44's were available as a option (in the towing package or Metric Tonne package in XJs and MJs) from 1987 to 1989. I cut the perches off of the axle with a 4.5 inch angle grinder and re-welded them onto the alxe so they would fit the MJ measurements (you can re-use them if you don't gouge them up bad). When you put the axle in the vehicle, make sure your pinion angle is correct to your truck or else you will get vibrations from having U-joints at non-canceling angles... Shock mounts - I just re-used the stock ones and bought longer shocks. The shocks I have in there now are too short though, need to get longer ones, probably going to be getting them soon. :rotfl2: Hope that helps.

How does the running lights circuit look at your fuse box? You said it yourself that you had fluid leaking on it. Might check that... Could be the cause of this - and many other future issues. I've been there and did the fuse box swap. In my opinion its the Only bad thing about owning a manual trans XJ/MJ. Its not a fun one to replace... If the contacts are falling away from the plastic or are broken you will need to replace the whole thing. I found it easier to get the new fuse block and then cut and solder all of the wires coming into it rather than take apart the whole dash. Make sure you have a 1/4 drive 1/4 inch (6 pt preferred) socket, you'll need it to separate the fuse block from the firewall on the engine side... -
Don't forget to pull those front brake lines before you haul it away. They are pricey, $20 each from Napa...

Good Videos - two more pieces of media we can use in our XJ Chopping DIY writeup. :clapping: Glad you made it home fine Wade - Good to finally meet you too. Rob and Correy - always nice to hang out with you guys too. We're getting pretty good at our craft, that one didnt take as much time as the last one :rotfl2:

Have you thought about trading your Comanche for a new Jeep?
500 MJ replied to mknherhappy's topic in The Pub
X2 The moment they decided to drop the AMC/Jeep flagship engine, our beloved Straight 6, I tuned my back on the new Wrangler - and pretty much the future of the Jeep brand... When you have such a good thing going, why change it? How many YEARS was that engine in production - and for what - nothing more than to be replaced by some poo minivan engine? Sorry. - And you WONDER why I won't buy a new car, much less one from one of the (used to be) big three... -
I'm doing just fine here. Hope you get better, sorry for being the one who didn't want Chinese...

I'm used to getting up around 5 am for work and even though it is the weekend my body will still automatically wake me up around then. I should be ready to roll when I get over to your place. C ya at 10. Need me to pick anything up on the way, let me know and I will be glad to do so.
-
Still got that open cooling system stuff? How much would you want for it? I've got my other little parts list too, my radio is still floating in the dash - not after tomorrow hopefully... The pop is chillin in the fridge and ready to go. I can be there as early as you want me to be. When are you getting up Correy, I'll swing by an hour before and start making a racket in the car-port :D

If you can't tell by the title, I just got the OK from my landlord to bring my Blue MJ over here to Wisconsin! I'm planning on being home sometime in late August, hopefully I can figure out a way to get me over to Michigan without driving my White MJ there so I can drive Old Blue back over here. I'll keep ya'll posted on whats happening... I'm Happy :clapping:

I think Rob is a closet MJ stripper. He's gonna violate your Jeep Wade.

Everything I have heard about them is very positive. From what I have heard, you should have no problem with getting ahold of them and being able to ask questions and/or get some pics of the kit...
