  1. Most deathwobble issues are caused by an issue with the tracbar, either it shot or not placed correctly to center your axle on the vehicle. If you are going to lift the vehicle it WILL need to be replaced with an adjustable tracbar or a new hole drilled on the axle mount to center the axle on the truck. If I were you I would skip the whole range of $150 cheapo adjustable tracbars and get the good setup right off the bat. I guarantee you'll never have an issue with it if you do, and it really isn't that much more to get it than the cheapo ones...The good stuff --> RE1660 and RE1665 (RE1670 is optional to this setup, but well worth the money) Ever since I've installed all three on my MJ I have NEVER had anymore deathwobble. http://www.rubiconexpress.com/JeepParts ... lder=JPFTB ...yes, deathwobble can be caused by other things, but it is most commonly caused by a tracbar issue, it has been a tracbar issue for me in every instance I've had of it...
  2. ...is it for sale? He already has a good one that has been sandblasted and is in primer as we speak. Solid too. I'll sure be looking for Willys parts if he has stuff there for sale for Dad though. I'm bringing my fighting stick.
  3. Sounds good, who's the AMC nut?
  4. So here are the weekends that WILL NOT work for me within the next two months: March 19-21 - to Lower Michigan March 24-28 - to California April 2-4 - to Lower Michigan April 30-May 2 - to Upper Michigan (wheeling trip if any of you are interested... ;) )
  5. I'm up for planning another one, but like Wade I would like to plan it well in advance as well. I've got quite a few weekends coming up that wouldn't work for me. I'll take a look on my calendar when I get home and try to come up with a list of those weekends tonight to post up here for you all.
  6. Can't really see the damage too well from the pics Pat. Once you get it home and get the chance to yank the old box, you should take some pics then. As far as front axle goes, that one at LKQ was a steal for that low of a price and it would be the "correct" axle to put back in this one...
  7. :agree: I'm very interested in this mod, looking at doing it to both of my MJs someday... a write up would be appreciated if you wouldn't mind going through the hassle of doing it. Thanks in Advance.
  8. :agree:
  9. How is that shock mount system working out for ya, anything you would have done different with it?
  10. ...just wait. Not a magazine ad, but kinda close... :D
  11. So did you sell your MJ yet or are you going to stuff it away somewhere? I hope you got a good deal on that Chevy... I'm not worried about you going anywhere, I know you'll be back.
  12. I never did hear how much you got for the truck or who you sold it to? You did tell them about this place right? You know you're gonna miss that Comanche Chief. Not another one like it out there, you did a great job with it. Glad to see you stick around too.
  13. Electric brakes sure sound sweet. :ack:
  14. Shoulda got out your screwdriver and at least tightened a screw somewhere, then you could really talk the talk... :clapping:
  15. I think you need to try harder.
  16. You can take the seals off if you are worried about them. I've been putting bolts and all kinds of other stuff I've got in it, some of the stuff has rubber parts and pieces to it and they come out untouched. Plastic is fine in there too. Just stay away from putting "pot metal" in there. I had a pulley I put in there that was made up from some sort of leadish stuff and it dissolved it. :clapping: Also, it'll take off plating on things if you put them in there and re-plate everything you have in there with it. Some of my stuff has come out of there with a copper hint to it cause I apparently put some of that in there along the line... :clapping: You'll like it though, does a damn good job right off the bat then it eventually gets weaker and weaker.
  17. I'd take those calipers and soak them in the Industrial TB cleaner for a day. Go get 10 bottles of it and pour 'em in a 5 gal pail. Then douse those suckers. They will come out looking great. Its amazing stuff, I cleaned both of the knuckles up on my project Dana 30 this way, they came out looking like they were just cast. You gotta oil them up or paint them right away though or else they will start to rust again.
  18. Toilet Bowl Cleaner with Hydrochloric Acid. Take it into town to the self serve pressure wash and set it on the ground, let it soak for 30 min, scrub it off and then blast it off. Does a pretty good job!
  19. Thanks for Everything EVERYONE! Now I've got a good base to go off of.
  20. Now that I look at these pics... Did you buy this one in Cambridge? I saw one for sale there this summer and I think this is it.
