  1. See thats just what I made this thread for...I'm looking for other options that are bolt in but having little to no success so far. I've got another stock manifold to put on the truck if it all comes down to it. That one is already bought and paid for... Maybe I should just invest in the new M.O.R.E. motor mounts and throw the stocker back on for now, then wait until I have access to a welder and get one of the other headers... :dunno:
  2. Yah, Thanks, I'm looking into replacing those with the M.O.R.E. Offroad ones while I am in there...I know the stock ones have gone bad.
  3. I'm going to bump this one back up to the top. I never got one last fall and am starting to look for one again. If anyone else has any other ideas, please share! I'm probably going to go searching for the cheapest place to get the Pacesetter one and get it later this week...
  4. I'm getting psyched up for this...planning to get a good share of goodies!
  5. I don't think he has enough volume in those corners to justify making them into air tanks... Agreed. Just something that I kinda thought about as I was looking at the pics...
  6. Some guys weld their bumpers up so well that they use them as the tank for their on board air. I've seen it work pretty well too. You planning on doing something like that with this one Wade?
  7. Welcome to the addiction Devin!
  8. Ok, so if that stinger isn't gaudy enough... I'd hate to be the guy to give that Jeep an alignment. WOW.
  9. Good thing you aren't keeping that D30!

    After Church....

  11. ...you promised us some pics...?
  12. :D I've been in touch with him too, asked for pics but he says he doesn't have any... I don't need it but like to see whats on the market when it pops up. If anyone comes to get this I could easily shoot over to the other side of town to help you guys load it.
  13. Is $1000 too much for your guys here who need a rust free LWB? :dunno: http://wausau.craigslist.org/cto/1548008151.html Finders fee: first dibs on buying the chrome rear bumper and bench seat off of you after you buy it and sell some parts off of it. :clapping:
  14. OX is available in both 27 and 30 spline...
  15. Looks good Wade, looks like you have a nice shop to work in too!
  16. Pat, You got too many projects :D ...and what is a "dail driver" ? :rotfl2:
  17. SWB or LWB?
  18. Yah, they are great but I would not make them that big. Also I'd put them somewhere else than where the tube goes into the cast center section...that's the spot that you want the most strength to be at!
  19. Well, Thats the reason I made this thread. I don't know who all sells aftermarket shafts. What other companies are there? :dunno: I've found the RCV axleshafts - not looking to go with a CV type shaft though... Thanks for everything so far guys!
  20. yup. 2"x2" box cut on an angle to match the flare angle. Its going to look like its smiling :D what do you mean? :hmm: Are you going to angle the tube up or just bring it back like the JCR bumpers? I got from your comment that you were going to angle it up at the flares, but now that I re-read it I guess that you didn't specifically say that...

  22. I'm in the market for a set of aftermarket axle shafts for a D30 I am building up for the front of my '88 MJ. I'm going to be installing these along with an OX locker so I could go with either 27 or 30 spline versions. So far I've found two companies - Alloy USA and Superior Axle - that offer aftermarket shafts for the D30. :dunno: What are the opinions out there on which way to go? If you have another good company please make me aware of them...
  23. Well, I can understand where you are coming from... Being that the bar is perpendicular to the bracket it should NOT contribute greatly to the forces that you would have on a straight on pull...in angled pulls it will contribute some to both tow points. I'm a Civil Engineer. I've got the tools to stumble my way through this problem mathematically but I really, REALLY don't want to unless you're going to pay me to do it. Its not really my "area of expertise" and it takes all the fun out of this kind of stuff for me. Yah, when things need to be designed I would put the effort into them. Thing is that I made my first set of these before I went to college and they worked, so I called it good and just kept making them. In the end I'll return to saying that I have put these brackets on each of the MJs and XJs I've owned and had nothing but good things to say about 'em. They have worked WONDERFULLY for me. If they didn't work I would not have gone through the trouble to post all of this stuff up here for you guys. They are super easy to make and super easy to acquire materials for. I'm not going to say that they will work for everyone because some people use different recovery methods than I do, and there is nothing wrong about that, "...to each his own". I'm not here to argue any points about whether they will work for other people's applications or not, this is just something not worth fighting over in my opinion.
