I don't have enough good things to say about the Firestone Destination ATs on my Eagle (225/75R15) or on my Comanche (31x10.50R15). They're quiet, have great traction in all conditions, and wear well. I've never needed 4 wheel drive in my Comanche, even when I've had the suspension close to flexed out and the Eagle was my winter car and I never needed 4 wheel drive in that one either.

I bet its going to be nice to have it on the road again!

5 years ago today I brought this truck home! Doesn't feel like that long.

More progress! Trailer hitch fabbed up out of some tubing and a JK receiver. It seems to tuck up in that gap pretty well. They also finished a the bed mounts and the are welded all the way in. Tomorrow they plan on painting the bed mounts, pulling 1 leaf out of each pack in the front and installing the sway bar end links. A front leaf is getting pulled because the truck sits too level and rides like a lumber wagon.

Well, plans changed with the 348. Being that I am on the other side of the country from all of my projects more often than not and will be for another couple of years, I decided to sell the 348. The small block in the 40 is an almost new crate motor anyways, so that truck will probably stick with that engine anyways.

I haven't bought from there, but I've heard of quite a few people that have. You will have to make sure other tire shops will mount tires if you bring them in that you bought from a competitor.

Yes! The high altitude CPS was well worth it. I’ve put a few thousand miles on mine with it and no knocks. That should be because of the knock sensor retarding timing when it needs it. I did a bored TB at the same time as the CPS and gained 1.5 mpg.

@Limeyjeeper has some OEM ones.

Does it have a fuel pump or is it gravity fed? Some pictures of the fuel line at the carb would help determine that. I’d guess that the diaphragm on the fuel pump gave up the ghost and it pumped fuel into the crankcase.

We had a good sized group and she was toward the back. Coming down a trail that switch backs down a mountain she says that there is a stick through the sidewall of a tire. I run up the trail and throw the spare on. I run back to the Samurai and don't get a quarter mile before she says there is another stick through the side wall of another tire. She blew two tires within a hundred yards. I threw a bunch of patches in the sidewall and it held for the rest of the weekend. Duratracs suck! CC is Awesome! Why? Because of Comanches. Does it need any other reason? It is good to see that you're back around, Reson! Congratulations!

Bed mounts are finalized, narrowed factory tailgate is installed, and a rear bumper has been modified to fit. Its been a productive couple of days for him. So we have this straight, its a Jeep pickup, with a GM engine, transmission, and transfer case with a Ford bed and a JKU tube rear bumper. So a little bit of everything

Looks like a D30 front and a D44 rear to me.

Yes they are!

Advice on gaining more horsepower on the 4.0
89 MJ replied to shortee1fourtee's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Gears, a high altitude CPS (advances timing 5 degrees), and a bored TB. -
Bump, still looking

More updates! Bed mounts are added and the frame is painted. He had to add a 1 inch body lift to get all of the body lines to line up on the truck, but that's okay because he wants to run 35s and this will help with clearance. He and my dad also primed his OEM bed that he is going to sell. He did find that with minor trimming (it needed to be narrowed), his stock Jeep tailgate will work with the stepside bed.
-
Ummm, fix the wiring and use it as is? Maybe do a 4x4 swap. No sense in sticking a bunch of money into it if it works as is and isn't rusty. Then look for options you want to add down the road.

Key Parts making tailgate strap bumpers
89 MJ replied to fiatslug87's topic in Craigslist/eBay... i.e. Not Your Stuff
I love the ones from @Dzimm I’ve got on my truck. Been on for a couple years and haven’t shown any signs of wear yet. -
Funny, my truck is an original Florida truck that has made its way to Wisconsin.
-
Where are you located now? I’m just a couple miles north in Holmen.

A few more posts and the classifieds will open up to you. You either need 1 or 6 more posts, I don't remember right now.
