Hopefully coming soon: this fine specimen is getting painted! I went to the Cactus Cruisers show up in Phoenix (well Peoria actually) and bought this Eagle brochure for $2 (there were others too, I should’ve bought them all). One of them even matches my car, if my car were nice. It inspired me to get some shiny paint on this thing. Also got to see these two rigs. I must say, I really, really like the 2.5L. It’s an excellent engine for driving around town.

If no one else does, I’ll probably be pulling mine out of my MJ this spring.

truck twitches to the left under heavy braking

Or if the rubber brake lines are old, could that be the issue? -
Weird, I just clicked the link and it worked.

Making good progress!

Mornin' Stellantis, time to dust off the Jeep Comanche
89 MJ replied to Salvagedcircuit's topic in The Pub
When the Maverick first came out, I really didn't care for it at all. A close family friend of ours has one and I had to help him move some stuff, so I've put some miles on the Maverick. I have to say, what a fantastic little truck. Over 12,000 miles, the thing averaged 28 mpg, mostly in town and idling. Its not one of the hybrid ones either. Its the regular gasser with AWD. Plus the thing has really good power. Visibility is decent for a new vehicle, it rides nicely, and the seats are comfortable. I didn't care for the transmission shifter much, but that's a minor deal in my opinion. Of course, I also don't need a super short bed and 4 doors either. A 6 speed in them would've been nice. I don't think I like them enough to want to buy a new one, but if one with some collision damage came up for sale for the right price, I'd buy one to use as a beater. You're absolutely correct, that EV pickup definitely needs more bed behind the wheels. -

To me, it’s still a little blah. I’m right there with you, the 4.0 is perfect for what I use it for, so there’s no reason to downgrade to something new. -

I wonder if that is one of the new Alpha Motor Cars pickups. I think it’s called the Wolf or something. I do wish there were more compact trucks on the market. Stuff like the new Ford Maverick. For what most people use a truck for, they’re great. https://www.alphamotorinc.com -
My thoughts exactly! That truck is nicer than mine was

That’s interesting. Definitely worth looking into for the right car.

Reminds me a lot of building my truck. I have as much time fixing rust and dents in my bed as I do the bodywork and paint work on the entire rest of my truck. If I had to do it again, I’d buy a nicer bed.

The quality looked fine on your Instagram story too. Could the photo be too big in size and it’s getting reduced in size to look this way?

It’s incredibly stupid that WI still does that. There really is no reason for it to be around anymore, especially for clean title vehicles. Thank you for the kind words, I wish we had more wheeling to do locally, but it seems like the number of places for that are growing.

That’ll probably make it a lot more fun then.

How does it drive now that you’ve added it?

Did you ever get an update on this? -
I say grab it. I feel like it’s also worth noting that I’m borderline a hoarder.
-
Just added it, thanks for grabbing the VIN.

1989 Sportruck in a yard in Moss Landing, CA (Bay Area). 4.0, 5 speed Looks like a fairly base 2wd from the pictures. Fairly straight, but lots of the exterior MJ specific parts were already grabbed.
-
The kick panels, b-pillar trim, the trim piece between those two, the headliner board, and the piece below the rear window are all MJ specific and worth saving if you have the space for them. Same with the rubber rear window trim and the bed.

I’m with Gjeep. I think it’s just the front sheetmetal that is in front of the crossmember that is bent. New bumper, bumper bracket, and a little bit of massaging you’ll be good to go.

This weekend! I’m hoping to see some more Jeeps there.
