The car wash killed my steering, why?
89 MJ replied to Badbobaz's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
To be honest, I wouldn’t recommend driving a 32 year old truck through a car wash. I wash mine by hand in the driveway. -
I have a solid rear window in WI.

I’m just going to leave this here.

Remember That One Time?... Tell Us Your Best MJ Story Well I think my most memorable story is also my most painful story. I was in the process of pulling my transfer case to replace the chain. Even with PB Blaster the crossbar bolts were giving me a problem. I had jacked up the car a bit to support the transmission and found myself laying sideways under the truck using a breaker bar to remove the bolts. I know I lll take some grief for this next part. I was pulling the breaker towards me when it actually broke the nut loose. This sent the breaker bar into my mouth snapping a tooth in half on the bottom and chipping another. If that wasn’t painful enough, when I gasped the air hit the live nerve in my tooth. I can deal with a lot of pain but tooth pain is not one of them. It was amazing how quickly I felt sick and weak at the knees. I had to put my tongue over my broken tooth to prevent air from hitting it. Once I made it up the stairs, it was comedy hour trying to explain what happened to my wife while keep pressure on my tooth with my tongue. She first thought I was having a heart attack. Do you know that not only does she make fun of me for this today, but she also deducted the repair work cost out of my Comanche fund…that’s all kinds of wrong! CC is Awesome!... Why Do You Think So? CC is Awesome! I think that engaging and sharing stories with other people that have a similar passion is a huge part of why I enjoy CC. It is a centralized hub to explore the technical, innovative, and operating initiatives of one of the best trucks in the world. Every time I login, I feel like I have only scratched the surface of information available on the site. Big shout out to the admins and contributions over the decades that have supported this effort to keep it relative. Congrats @GritHound, you’ve built a beautiful truck!

As long as you have MJ bucket seat brackets, yes.

Never talked to him outside this forum, but he seemed like a great guy. Sucks to hear he is gone. RIP.

Wow! That looks sweet! -
Not 2008+, but XJ

That is for sure. I think I would need to live in them if I had as many as I wanted though.

Ohhh, green! I love green. You and your Little Red makes we want to build an MJ with a bunch of factory accessories. Fair enough. But you kept reminding me!

Cherokee will bolt in as long as yup use the Comanche brackets. @krustyballer16 Makes new brackets. -
I want to start by blaming Pete, Red Mistress, and eagslescout526 for making me realize I want to do this. I am casually looking to buy a mostly stock LWB Metric Ton Comanche. Minimal rust would be great and I’m not afraid to travel for one. Paint condition doesn’t matter either, so long as it is straight (I have a passenger door and fender to put on if those are damaged) Transmission doesn’t matter much to me. I prefer an 91-92 but would be okay with any year, so long as it is a Metric Ton. My plans with this truck are to get to get a bunch of factory accessories to put on it. I do do have a restored (my dad restored cars for a living, so this was a professional job) SWB 89 4x4 with a 4.0 and a 5 speed and a 3 inch lift (pictured below) I’d trade for one with cash on your end, otherwise I will be listing it for $12,000 once I 96 swap it. Note, I’m not looking for a perfect truck, but I don’t want some cheap repaint or trail rig. I just want a Metric Ton LWB because a little more bed space would be nice, and the higher towing capacity too. I want a black XJ to make a Goonies replica.

I’m not saying my generation is better (I ho early think it’s worse)

Clearly none of those hipster morons have ever experienced a Jeep. I guarantee you the author is a millennial snowflake that just whines about everything. Some kids should have been spanked...

Nooo! That makes it impossible to make it have nice paint in the future. -
I like Glock security systems and Remington’s 870 style security system.

Dang, I was hoping it was going to be on my side of the state, I would have bought it in a heartbeat.
